In politics optics are everything and this "dog and pony show", whether genuine or not, was brilliant by Trump and the Republicans.

They know that Democrats loathe Trump and will not cheer for him no matter what he does. So in turn they orchestrated a trap that was executed to near perfection. On live television in front of the nation Pelosi and company had to make a choice. Hold your nose and applaud as TRUMP is honoring individual Americans personally, or hold onto your hatred for the man so much that you refuse to applaud anything he does even if it's honoring a young girl with a scholarship. A young black girl at that.

They chose the latter, and in a political world where optics certainly matter the Democrat Party in that room looked like absolute garbage human beings on live television. It doesn't matter how you feel personally, as a politician you will be hard pressed to justify not applauding a young girl with a single mother being awarded a scholarship to the school of her choice. I don't care how much you hate the man who gave it to her.

The Democrats will justify it all they want, or at least try, but Pelosi and company objectively screwed up badly that night I don't care how they try to spin it. And the American people saw that too.

This is politics....as the opposing party you don't want 76% Americans and 80+% of Independents to approve of Trumps Address and then see the Democrat Speaker of the House tearing the damn thing up on live TV behind him. And having most Democrats in the room sitting there with their arms folded as he hands out scholarships to minority children and honors down trotting minorities who turned their lives around.

I always hear about Pelosi and company outsmarting Trump and getting him spun up and whatnot. Which is true, however, Trump delivered a precision strike to the Democrat Party that night and outsmarted the living crap out of Nancy Pelosi and made them look absolutely terrible.

Years ago a hurricane passed over my house. The next day trees were down all over the neighborhood. I had an urgent need for an arborist ASAP as a large oak tree was suspended over my house ready to crash into the roof. It took days before I could even get an arborist on the phone, only to be told that priority would be given to established customers.

Based on that experience, I strongly recommend that liberals establish a relationship with a therapist now. Don't wait until after the election.

I heard that actually it was a crime, a felony in fact, for her to rip this particular piece of paper. So, my question is: could she be impeached for it?

    76% would disagree with you.

There are very few things everybody agrees on, LW extremism isn't one of them.

I say next year, if she's still speaker, give her a speech printed on Kevlar in case she has another tantrum.

Yes we'll have to agree to disagree, but feel free to hear me out if you would be so kind. I've mentioned, DJT is my guy, but to pretend that he's not an instigator just isn't being real, its not all reactionary and even when it IS reactionary he always pushes it too far. At my home we label it "going Tosh" (big fan of tosh 5.0 but he always tends to go just 1 step too far from funny to disgusting)

Bottom line, I'm a fan of the message but not a fan of the messenger and how he goes about it. Constant needling is his SOP and he's doing it on the world stage.

Now: before I get flamed, because I know you are tempted to tear into me, let me finish.

I'll freely admit, with hand on a borrowed bible, that the Dem's have been a consistent source of irritation as well going back at least as far as Reagan, they also tend (well documented) to take things out of context to provide an opportunity to insinuate things that aren't true, or at the very least aren't 100% true. I disagree with their tactics and although like when DJT fights back, he tends to fight fire with a flame thrower.

In the past, the gop membership has always taken the brunt of those attacks like a bunch of weaklings, apologized and took massive hits from the media. IMO, for the most part, the racial aspect of the attacks was out of line and totally uncalled for. But with that said the gop failed big time to properly adjust in a timely fashion to the whole homosexual thing, in particular with the marriage issue. I myself was guilty of it but I stepped over to the right side long before the gop followed suit and reluctantly at that. I continued to support the gop despite my differences in that area because I believed in their policies elsewhere but they were dragged kicking and screaming into acceptance and their constituents, in particular the evangelicals are still at best on the fence.

I could elaborate more especially with my other issues with the dems such as the whole trans thing but i'm getting into rant territory so i'll just leave it there.

edit: lastly: yes I agree 100% that it was bad optics for her to tear up the dam speech it was a silly, childish maneuver. Unfortunately bad optics seems to be par for the course with all of our political leadership these days, which is why I prefer to vote them all out.

Why does Nancy Pelosi hate America?

Why do her comrades and supporters hate America?

Why do they hate America so much they voted not once but twice for a nihilistic traitor who pledged to fundamentally transform America?

A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.

I love how the right has to make this about something it is not to try to rip Pelosi.

Spare me the faux outrage about decorum. That is exactly why the right voted for Trump and why they love him so much, is that he has no decorum. Now when Peolsi shows the same level or respect for him that he gives anyone else, you make it about "changing lives". Hes changing lives alright, because while your focused on Pelosi, your leaving out the part where Trump said that he will "fight for pre-existing conditions..Thats a guarantee". So while you focus your ire on Pelosi, you don't have to address the outright lie. And the ultimate Irony is that you try to make it about "not cheering for the poor", and "changing lives", which is something he is literally fighting in court to hurt them. His admininstartion had a team of lawyers in court just last week fighting for the right to end the pre-existing conditions laws from Obamacare.

You cant make this crap up with a team of writers

It is great and it certainly is interesting that Nancy Pelosi and her cheering section hates America.

Not a criminal violation. Ask your "source" why that statute covers a copy of a speech?

Also, you cant impeach a Speaker of the House anyways.
