You are right. Russia can do very little in VZ to help Maduro survive if the USG decides to oust him. Russia can do just enough to make sure there is no exit for the entire regime. It's close.

 

I think Putin said they will not allow a regime change and they don't speak lightly. It will probably be a proxy war with hired thugs from Brazil and Columbia fighting the Venezuelan army. Russia will be helping Venezuela with technical aid and arms, and Washington will be helping the foreign thugs like in Syria - that is if there is a war.

Weren't they also saying that Assad would be out in two weeks, and it has now been seven years. But then again this might be a situation similar to N. Korea. Weren't the war drums beating two or three years ago?

Right and thanks for clearing this up. Supply/ demand sets the price(although not always the case with oil) and the saudis manipulate how much they pump in order to have the market set the price. Right? So they indirectly set the price and have kept it low at least for awhile by opening up the spigots and flooding the market. So what I said is in principle, true, I think. But you detailed it out, so thanks for that.

I read where in the 80s, oil prices, were used to help the USSR implode, but not by doing what IMO, was done a few years ago, by the Saudis in opening up the spigots or not reducing production to get prices back up. It really hurt russia and venezuela, and IMO, this was a conspiracy, involving the US and the Saudis. Unless you believe it was over our fracking? As if this would forever end fracking by the US. ha ha

 

How lovely it would be to have a gentlemanly, logic and humane person like Rand Paul representing our country, but the American people have been so dumbed down and brain washed by the media that it's not to be - or at least not yet. I thought that Trump with his strength and ego would be able to clean up Washington and pave the way for someone like him, but he's been forced to bow to their whims to remain in office.
