Because I'm a patriot and I want my country to prosper.

Me personally? I have a recession proof skill. The economy has very little affect on me. In fact things get a little easier on me personally when the economy is bad because businesses are desperate for financially stable customers such as myself.

But I love my country and I hate seeing people out of work and I've studied enough basic economics to understand what economic policies are needed to fix it. Tell me when the last time you read an economics book was?

You did not answer my question. You just spouted random Obama policies without linking them to the numbers you posted. If that question was a test you'd get an F.

Thank you for the grade but this isn't Debate 101.

You've answered the question asked in the OP. You'll be voting for Barack Obama, in spite of the fact Americans are suffering and he has no plans to do anything different.

That's all I wanted to know. Everything else (incl throwing a fit because I won't play) is immaterial.

I notice you're not flying a banner for Obama/Biden 2012. Whatsamatter, embarrassed? :cynic:

You typed a whole lot of words to say a simple thing - spending money, even if there is none, even if you have to print more and more and more because you cannot repo a country, is all good because spending solves all problems.

Meanwhile cities in the USA are going bankrupt. CA is losing businesses to other states that have better fiscal positions. Look at all the Republican Governors who are turning their States around by turning deficits into surplus without raising taxes. They are cutting spending because it is wise to keep your house in order. This is otherwise known as accountability.

The states don't have the power to print money. That's why a federal stimulus is needed. Money needs to be injected into the economy because there is a severe lack of money velocity. And exactly because states are going bankrupt. We're losing an entire generation of potential engineers because of all the budget cuts to schools.

As we found out when Bush was president and Romney was governor, promises are made to be broken. I don't suppose you remember Bush saying he was going to MAINTAIN a balanced budget. That was close, wasn't it?

And you've made it clear you are uneducated and should not be a trusted opinion on anything economics.

Any moron can produce a healthy economic climate by borrowing from the Chinese and giving away farm along with the seed corn. 'Course, Bush wasn't just any moron.

LOL, what was that you said about borrowing from the Chinese?

Let me guess... you'll be casting a vote for BO on Nov 6th, right? Because BO would NEVER borrow money from the Chinese to flush down the toilet.

We're not broke. Republican economic policies are. We're still one of the richest most productive countries on the planet and we need to start acting like it.

Ya see, Obie HAS to borrow from the Chinese to cover Bush's deficits. Bush didn't have to borrow from the Chinese because there was no deficit. Zero. Zip. Nada. He did it anyway (mostly to pay for his tax giveaways).

Facts is facts, kid. Nobody says you have to enjoy them.

Oh,contraire-I thought "Anonymously ME" did a great job of explaining why he/she is supporting OBAMA---what you didn't like is that it doesn't agree with your opinion-so,you now have to demean, condescend or ignore.
So, I have to ask,why did you start the thread if your not interested in what OBAMA supporters have to say.
And as far as why I support POTUS OBAMA-for all the adversity he has had to deal with,he has done a remarkable job- starting with the Ledbetter Act-equal pay for equal work,Health care reform, where we can all afford good Insurance for better care,I am all for renewable energy, keeping jobs in the US,less dependency on foreign oil, high speed rail, air quality, fair chances, fair tax's, ending Bush tax cuts for the uber rich, keeping our National Parks just that(no oil drilling) & I could go on & on,but over the years here on the forum, you all have heard my reasons before.-these are all things OBAMA advocates----OBAMA 2012

I didn't ask for reasons you're supporting Obama. I asked why you would support him when Americans are obviously suffering and he has no plan to do anything differently.

From your post, it sounds like you feel sorry for him. Just wonder why you don't feel sorry for poor people when gasoline has gone up $.20 a gallon in the last 3 days?

Why has gasoline gone up in the last 3 days? (I ask because you clearly don't ask it yourself)

Why bother taxing when we can just print money? Since in your world debt is not a factor, why bother taxing at all? Is this about social justice for you?

Because that would increase money velocity too quickly and cause inflation. Taxing allows us to distribute money where it needs to go in our economy. without increasing the money supply.

Oh, so there is a limit to printing money in your world, eh? But you said debt is not a factor. Why not slow the presses to reduce velocity?

Because that would reduce the amount of money required to keep things afloat.

While some quantitative easing is beneficial, printing more and more money is inflationary.

I said there was a limit in the same post I said debt was not the limit. Inflation is the limit. And yes. If inflation is a problem you slow the presses so to speak. Increase interest rates. Boot people off welfare. Raise taxes. And do whatever you can to make money harder to come by.

Currently inflation is not a problem. Quite the opposite actually. Deflation is a potential problem when spending is this low. So we need to speed up the presses.
