When we are in the range of being 'doomed' due to our incapacity to effectively manage the nation...sugar-coating serves little purpose...

You don't actually comprehend that Texas Comptroller Report do you? That report discusses the GDP in Texas, and then shows the costs of the illegals to the municipalities.
So $1.58 - $1.16 = $.42; Now $.42 - $1.44 = -$1.02 Billion. So illegals actually cost the people of the state $1.02 Billion dollars. The absence of 1.4Million people, whether they be legal or not would then be the issue. Texas doesn't have a State Tax. :roflol:

This part of the report says it best

Since when does the USC claim that all people are entitled to equality in the nation? The people in the states are guaranteed equal protection of the laws of the state in which they are in, but that's it.

Maybe voting should only be done on one day, everybody has only one day to cast their ballot, not 3 weeks in advance, unless mailed in. If those African Americans are citizens and are subject to the same requirements as WASPS, Whites, Asians, European, -Americans, what exactly is the issue?

Is he just being facetious or is this an expression of complete ignorance?

So you refer to a quote prior to the Civil Rights Act of 1866, and lay claim that Republican Ideology has come from this very quote.

Again, I ask: Is he just being facetious or is this an expression of complete ignorance? :roflol:

Every State issues these cards for free.

So, if we have only 1 day to cast a vote, that would be equal, amirite? Why do we need more than 1 day for the public to cast votes?

their skin color doesnt put them at a disadvantage and it doesnt warrant special attention. they arent babies so you can stop pretending they are. according to your race based theory blacks will always need help to get ahead simply because there are less of them than the majority race? so equality to you means less of other races? you're just another ignorant liberal who believes skin color matters and unfortunately you ignorant liberals are the one and only reason why it does.
if there is one successful black person in the usa then your racist theory is null.
no they have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. they dont need special attention. stick a grown man in diapers and lock him in a playpen and he will eventually begin to believe he is a helpless infant. stop putting an entire race in diapers and a playpen.

Some people are race hysterics. Sadly they BELIEVE most of the things that professional race-agitators and race-baiters such as Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Melissa Harris-Perry tell them without question.

They'll always be oppressed see. Hispanics too. Even when white people are no longer a majority, minorities will keep DEMANDING special status. Just wait a few more generations. Hispanics especially will have no qualms about demanding Spanish become the official language and gleefully ask, "why do you find that strange..." If white people ask for anything once that day comes, they'll be labeled bigots.

Chicago Tribune Editor: It's true, we censor black crime.

Photo: Gerould W. Kern, from ChicagoTribune.com

Editors for the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, and now the Chicago Tribune have all issued public statements admitting to deliberately censoring information about black crime for political reasons.

Chicago Tribune editor Gerould Kern stated that the paper conceals and downplays black crime so as to “guard against subjecting an entire group of people to suspicion.” In other words, the paper deliberately attempts to keep white people in the dark about rampant black on white crime. This of course puts members of the public in increased danger of being a victim of a crime. Leftists like Kern believe that protecting the diversity fantasy is more important than informing the public about crime. The statement by Kern is very similar to recent statements by editors of the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times.

    From Chicago Tribune…

This week the Chicago Tribune published several news stories and related columns about assaults by groups of youths in the Streeterville area of downtown Chicago. More coverage appears Sunday.

A number of readers have asked why we have not included racial descriptions of the assailants and the victims in these incidents.

We take these matters seriously and reach decisions about them after careful consideration. This is a good opportunity to explain our approach to issues like these.

We do not reference race unless it is a fact that is central to telling the story.

By all indication, these attacks were motivated by theft, not race. Further, there is no evidence to suggest that the victims were singled out because of their race. Therefore we did not include racial descriptions in our initial news reports. [It is extremely unlikely that Kern actually believes what he wrote here. An all black mob goes on a rampage and attacks only white victims in a city that is less than 30% white. Kern is being transparently disingenuous. ]

There are circumstances when race may be relevant, such as describing a criminal suspect being sought by police. But this description must be accompanied by other detailed information, such as height, weight, scars, clothing, etc. By adhering to this practice, we guard against subjecting an entire group of people to suspicion because of the color of their skin.

I applaud the left on continuing to harp on the "voter suppression" talking point, and hope they continue to do so in their campaign ads in every election!

But you have no problem with the administration suppressing what this administration does?

Hard to talk about voter suppression when you can vote at home by absentee ballot weeks in advance and they even pay the postage for you.

Sorry was being facetious. If the left continues harping on reasonable regulations like ID as "voter suppression" they won't get reelected.

Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, which is very shameful as everybody is so educated and they keep such type of cheap thinking. So..avoid racism and live like a dignity and do respect for each other religion.

I'm no expert on local taxation in Texas but do know that sales taxes and property taxes are a major part of funding local governments and everyone pays those taxes including "illegal" immigrants. Admittedly a "renter" pays the property tax indirectly as it is a component of their monthly rent but they pay it nonetheless. The $1.44 billion in local expenditures are fully funded and the "illegal" immigrants are paying their share of this tax burden.

There is also some simple math that can be applied. If "illegal" immigrants occupancy in apartments is 3 per apartment then for every 1,000 immigrants there are 330 apartments required for them to live in. That generates a lot of income for those that have to build the apartments, the paid services for those apartments (e.g. electricity and water usage plus taxes), and the property taxes on those apartment houses. Those immigrants are responsible for a lot of jobs in the community such as store clerks, and truck drivers that bring goods to the stores. If a small grocery store has a 1000 customer base then that store would not exist if 1000 people left the country and all of the employees at the store, plus the employees that are related to providing the food sold in the store (e.g. truck drivers and farmers) would be out of a job.

This is something that "conservatives" fail to understand. Immigrants create more jobs and are responsible for more taxation than the number of jobs they fill and the government services they use. Every study I've read reinforces this simple fact.

Stop that at once! I hate being compelled to agree with you regarding any subject whatsoever, but especially about anything having to do with Texas . . . but when you are correct, you are correct.

Yep, I don't know what the comptroller's political game is but were the state's illegals population to pick up their economic generating marbles and 'go home' en masse then the Texas economy would collapse over night.

This is because not only do all those illegals pay taxes in the form of 8.25 percent on all purchases but they do the bulk of the necessary grunt labor activities that keep a culture -- any culture -- operational and thriving. Besides which, on the whole, culturally our state's massive Hispanic population (legal or illegal) are damn good people who work their rumps off to create a better life for their family than was generally available back in the old country . . . just like the Irish and Italians and various Asian groups in previous eras did in various areas across this nation.

That isn't exactly what the 14th Amendment states. It states that (paraphrased) "No State shall deny equal protection under the law" and that includes discrimination that can be imposed by others in society that the law can address. Remember that government is about protecting us from each other and not about protecting us from government. The government has no responsibility related to ensuring equality of outcome but does have a responsibility to ensure equality of opportunity for all people in the United States. Invidious discrimination results in denial of equality of economic opportunity and the State has a responsibility to provide laws that either prevent it or that mitigate the effects of this denial of equal protection under the law.

I live in WA and all votes are cast by mail and we have about three weeks to cast our vote prior to the election due date and that appears fair to me but there is a consideration.

Government should be doing what it can to ensure that people exercise their franchise to vote and not be attempting to disenfranchise the vote. That was the foundation for "early voting" and it was a legitimate reason for allowing early voting at the polls. While the "election day" establishes the last day that votes can be cast it doesn't limit how soon a vote can be cast. If we want to "enfranchise" the voters then the longer the voting period the more people would vote and that should be encouraged by government and allowed under the law.

What shouldn't be done is to impose limitations on the voting period to achieve a political outcome which is exactly what Republicans are doing with their voting laws. They've done the studies and know that African-Americans are more likely to vote (for Democrats) if given a larger window to vote and the sole purpose of their efforts are to reduce the African-American vote. They know that blacks are generally poorer than other Americans and are far less likely to have state issued ID so they want to impose an voter ID requirment to disenfranchise these black voters (that vote for Democrats).

It is one thing to seek fair voting practices and a completely different thing to promote legislation that disenfranchises minority voters that would vote for the opposing political party.

Can we tell the difference? Absolutely. If it's about fair voting practices then both political parties (D's & R's) will support it. If its about disenfranchisement for nefarious political purposes then only one party will support it.

We can stop the "Race Card" just as soon as racial prejudice that results in discrimination and denial of equality of opportunity in the United States ends.

Unfortunately racial prejudice that results in invidious discrimination is increasing in the United States and not going away. The "race card" is created by the racists and not by the anti-racists.

Sorry, Today, in 2014, It is largely "Designated Minorities" and Liberals who are the Racists. You keep the racism going, because it gives a convenient excuse for Pandering and Discrimination for your own profit and power.

Low-Mid Income White America got over Racism 50 years ago.

How about you Liberals give up the propaganda and deception and start acting like a Moral Human Beings?

Considering the level of explicit prejudice against minorities in the Republican Party (e.g. 79% of Republicans expressed explicit anti-black racial prejudice in a 2012 study) and the laws they advocate such as immigration laws that block Hispanic immigration I would have to conclude that the Republican Party is still very much committed to the same White Male Supremacy policies that Andrew Johnson expressed.

We can logical deduct that the vote of the People reflects what a political party represents and Republican Party is anti-minority based upon recent votes. Roughly 75% of Hispanics and about 95% of African-Americans voted against Republicans in 2012 so obviously it's political platform does not represent the Hispanic or Black citizens of the United States. Who's left? White people.

The demographics of the vote reflect that older white people that grew up during racial segregation and oppression where government was controlled exclusively by old White men are the foundation of the Republican Party and they are the people the Republican Party panders to. The very foundation of "conservative" ideology is to "go back" to the way it was when only wealthy Old White Men controlled government in the United States.
