If they were instantly sent away we wouldn’t have to take care of them. The fact they’re showing up at our borders with babies in the first place or ABOUT to give birth, shows the evil of their ways. NONE are worthy of entry. They’re exploiting us from day 1. Pure scumbaggery!!!

America first. ALWAYS. Citizens first. Always!!

Why would a migrant be in detention? Again, what are you talking about?

As aggressive as your para is, it's a guarantee Progressives would agree with it in full - if applied to Govts they disapprove of.

And FTR, I agree with it in full - regardless of which Govt takes the traitor's walk.

Dude, they're not IMMIGRANTS. They're foreign nationals.

Immigrants are people who've obtained permanent residency or citizenship via official channels.

A famous 20thC author wrote a book called "The Screwtape Letters". In it, the devil describes the 'rings of charity' he designed to reduce charitable action in the world. The theory being that the most inclined to evil (or at least a moral vacuum .. the next best thing) are the most likely to apply charity in both thought and action, to the outer rings .. as far away from themselves as possible. The flipside of which is the tendency to demonise those on the inner rings.

PS: A very worthwhile read, for anyone interested in the philosophy of morals and the human condition. As enjoyable a satirical romp for the athiest, as for the believer.

It's a fascinating book. Would take a yuge ego to deny finding oneself reflected anywhere in its pages, but the fantasy/satire genre makes the realisations less depressing :D

But a clump of cells inside a ‘Mercian woman” well, that is just plain sacred and she has to sacrifice everything for it!

Perhaps we should start a GoFundMe to put them on ships and airplanes and ship them to Australia since you like them so well?

I'd certainly donate to that cause. Of course your government would simply throw them into prison.

What a load of claptrap. He started the thread using a biased source that attacks Republicans while completely ignoring questions that would show that he's being partisan. And You have the balls to say we're being partisan? I'd say you should look in a mirror but you're so blinded with your own partisanship that you can't even see yourself. Much less a mirror.

Sorry, WE control our borders. No one else.

Besides, those treaties state that those "refugees" must apply in the first country they come to. Most of these illegals at our border starts out in countries not named Mexico. As such we do not technically have to take them.

Also, your country jails refugees until such time as thier case is adjudicated. Then they are either deported or granted the status. So, again I wouldn't be talking about "treaties" when you're own country has trouble following your own treaties. Which happens to be the same ones we're signatories to.

Making the decision to engage in behavior does not remove responsibility for the consequences of that behavior.

I wouldn't expect you to understand that though.

I understand this position and fully support it. However, it also leaves me a bit confused about why this doesn't apply to everything we are facing as a nation.

I have asked (and mostly been ignored) but...

    • Why are we spending billions of dollars for a war in Afghanistan when there are Americans here that are being deprived of their rights?
    • Why are we building schools in other countries when there are illiterate people right here that need literacy training?
    • Why are we arming and training people in other countries to stand up for themselves when we are stomping on the civil rights of people in our own country?
    • Why are we concerned about women being forced to wear burkas and not attend school when we don't have 100% backing of our own laws regarding violence against women?
    • Why are some of our own born and raised American citizens still treated like second-class citizens while we throw stones on how other world leaders treat their citizens?

I am not asking you, personally, to address any of these questions. I am asking all of us, nationally, why any of this (and much more) is acceptable on any level. As you well know, I have tremendous respect for you standing for our freedom and I'm well aware that is not free. I'm just not sure if our fellow Americans truly understand that.

And frack them, we don't like furriners anyway. All they do is work hard and pay taxes. We need more grifters, like our last President.

I mean, where'd all these old people and pregnant women get the idea to come here if their government is out to kill them anyway? It's not like we have a giant world famous statue in our main harbor that says something like "give me your tired, your poor..."

America, the land of False Advertising.

Oh yes, the ever popular "progressive liberal" disingenius tactic of employing the fallacy that if you are against illegal immigration this means you are a xenophobe who is against ALL immigration.....

    How shamelessly transparent.

LoL the people that support people that have been on the government tit their whole life call others "grifters" That's a good one.

They get the idea because they want welfare, and the countries they created and "manage" suck.

They're escaping the great ideas of socialism, high crime, and corruption to come here because they know the people in this country are stupid enough to take better care of them than the people already here. You know, democrat ideas and ideals.

    They don't apply in Mexico.

Mexico doesn't have the welfare they want.
