Maybe, though it seems to me they would be much better off leaving since they will have no hope of winning anything that way. At least the Ukrainians probably won't try to stop them leaving or conscript them to fight.

I don't have the information I need to know for sure how the people of the Donbas will react. Despite their voting patterns, if they feel their recent hardship was primarily due to the Russian military, then they could change opinion quickly away from Russia. But unlike the cult, I don't know how the Ukrainian army has treated them. With such pro-Russian sentiment in these regions, it wouldn't take many Ukranian or NATO munitions exploded in an apartment building to turn them into zealots.

I'm sure some welcome them. But I have a problem: they removed the Russian flag over the city administration building and raised the Ukrainian flag. I would expect a large celebration. However, there are only 8 Ukrainian soldiers in frame...

It's war, not a Broadway show. The Russians have faced persistent partisan resistance. Zelensky will not.

And I've read a lot about war, and I've viewed many pics and videos of people being liberated during it. I know what it looks like. And I've yet to see it in these regions. I'm not saying it isn't happening. And I'm not rooting one way or the other; except for peace, both for compassion, and my security, as the longer, and deeper Biden pulls us into this, the less safe I am.

My experience is more direct. I don't think you know anything. To seek safety by accommodating aggression is to court destruction.

This is all pointing towards Putin doing something drastic. The hope here and from what I gather is, if he uses nukes - it would be career suicide. China and India are against that and it comes with possible NATO reaction of which Russia would not be able to repel. That being said...it would instantly turn the tide if he dropped a few right behind the advancing front lines and on the new russian proposed border of ukraine.

This mess Russian troops are finding themselves in is really eye opening. Beyond nukes, Russia is proving pretty inept on the battle field right now.

The Russians have not demonstrated any capability to operate on a nuclear battlefield. And they would face a crushing NATO response.

I wonder how hard it would be for Ukraine to shoot down a Russian tactical nuke.

Then you need to search my posts from even before the invasion, as I have, and point out where I've been fundamentally wrong. I said the Ukrainians may put up a fierce fight, the night before the invasion. I said that Kiev wasn't the objective well before anyone else when it was still encircled. And I also predicted Bidens insane economic response, and what that would result in. I said no fly zone not an option day 1, when the cult still thought we were giving them fighter jets. And I said month 1 Ukraine will be lucky to keep from Kherson to Odessa, before they were even fighting in that area. Go ahead and find something; I feel my posts have aged well despite the unpredictable nature of war.

Scoffing at a leader with 6400 nukes when he says he is going all the way is to court destruction. The dismissive attitude by so many to such a threat is infuriating.

It has been pointed out that there is footage of Russian-speaking babushkas hugging Ukranian troops & inviting them in for tea. Ouch! It has always been a myth that all Russian speakers want to be ruled by Russia.

Kyiv was the objective, actually. But then reality got in the way of Putler's plans.

The Ukrainians will soon regain Kherson.
Kiev was the objective but the Russians failed; they were defeated.
Our economic response is right on.
It is more likely that Putin will be removed than that he will use nuclear weapons.
You have been fundamentally wrong from the start.

Judging from their unchanging sentiment toward Russia since Ukraine became a country, I find that difficult to believe. But like I said, they could have flipped if the Russian military was too reckless.

I can't believe you are saying that as Putin occupies 90% of the specific territories he clearly defined as his objective.

The Russian effort is on the brink of collapse. Putin's objective was the overthrow and replacement of the Ukrainian regime.

I don't think so. It appears to me that he tied up the bulk of Ukranian forces around Kiev, far from his objectives in the south and east, while his troops got a foothold there.

Yet there his forces are, exactly in the regions HE SAID were his objectives.

Really, I wish I had the technical capability to create a time lapse video of the fronts, so it may be a little more clear to you, as it looks like that's exactly what happened.

I'll make another prediction: Europe isn't going to freeze all winter because Daddy Biden says they can't buy gas. Congratulations European leaders, you just committed political suicide.
