Nothing new there. Golf clubs are struggling nationwide to break even. There was a glut built for public play and then more to enhance home values. A lot of them are going buh bye.

Yes and now we know the TRUTH about golf clubs and Trump saying he doesn't own much stuff.

I myself suspected a mole before this release, remember that the Russian Lawyer's visa was once denied and THEN reinstated. Why? Because she had a purpose to fulfill, for the FBI. Like Bannon said, attending that meeting was stupid but now it blatantly looks like it was an FBI Sting.

As this information comes out, it's looking really bad for the prosecution if they are essentially prosecuting a case THEY themselves created.

That would be the illegal wiretapping that Mike Rogers uncovered.

My guess is that this documentation will shine a light on the reasons Republicans want to indict Steel.

It will also be interesting in that there may be clues as to why Republicans were so set on having this interview be kept away from the public.

Even Simpson, the guy being interviewed, wanted this material released. He's not under any known constraint to his speech. So, why were we not allowed to hear what he had to say to the committee?

Us, since the golf clubs represent the bulk of Donald Trump's real estate holdings, it's telling (and not surprising, as you point out). Since Trump is obviously no kind of competent manager, and his operations are a rats nest of office politics and back biting, I'm not surprised.

I think that Trump is actually probably functionally insolvent. He certainly is not a billionaire.

And when the Russians get done with him, he'll be back in Queens living on his pension.

I think you'd have to understand where Trump's clubs are. Trump has efficiently sandbagged the local tax assessors by "greenbelting" high dollar real estate much like some do with forestration. Therein you can take operating losses, tax writeoffs, all while your land values escalate. There's been hundreds of golf clubs that have shut down and been redeveloped. Trump isn't as dumb as some of you like to think. :)

Sure, that's why he's donating his $400k salary back to the government.

This is why Nunes hasn't released the warrant...because it's based on popadopoloud and not the dossier

Did anybody see this part of the CNBC URL??

Joshua Levy, a lawyer for Fusion GPS, testified that someone died as a result of the dossier. Levy did not name the individual, according to the transcript.

What in the heck is that all about??

I bet few doubt his ability to make money for himself through real estate.

It's more that his skills in deal making through bullying, working the system, demanding total devotion, little concern for the truth, insider deals, etc., are great for growing one's personal wealth, but don't translate to good governance.

Right now, we're expecting him to change his objectives while we reject his methods (as we should).

Really, it's unrealistic to think an old guy who has been successful with that set of tools could possibly change as much as is necessary.

Actually, quite a few people doubt his ability to make money for himself through real estate. He's probably heavily over-levereged.

Actually, I'm pretty sure he is.

In most of these high dollar areas, there isn't enough open space to develop. A lot of golf courses got build by combining them with a residential development and using the golf course to qualify as open space in order to increase the density of the residential piece. This puts the golf course in a position where it can't be subdivided, since it provides the open space for the "greenbelt(ed)" area.

Evidently, Trump's losses are not just paper ones. Golf courses are expensive to maintain and run, and highly dependent on high fees and corporate use. Demand is falling, as it is for almost all time consuming recreational activities (boating has never recovered either).

Trump's net worth estimates (and declarations) have fallen significantly over the years since Fred died.

That's the kind of simple minded gimmick the Trumpsters love.

Yes, that's the conspiracy theory that right wing media has been peddling for about two weeks now.

Did the search... Assume this is the guy....Russians being killed and arrested... See, they have treason over there too...who knew??

    SNIP
A grim case can also be made that the Russians are taking the memos seriously. Oleg Erovinkin—a former F.S.B. general and a key aide to Igor Sechin, a former deputy prime minister who now heads Rosneft, the giant Russian oil company, and whose name is scattered with incriminating innuendo through several memos—was found dead in his car the day after Christmas. The F.S.B., according to Russian press reports, “launched a large-scale investigation,” but no official cause of death has been announced. Was this the price Erovinkin paid for having apparent similarities to Steele’s Source B, “a former top level intelligence officer still active in the Kremlin”? And, no less ominous, after both Steele and U.S. intelligence officials made their cases for the Kremlin’s involvement in the election hackings, the F.S.B. arrested two officers in the agency’s cyber-wing and one computer security expert, charging them with treason. Were these three the sources that Steele relied on?

I'm wondering if Steele 'divulged his sources' to his bosses or Bob Mueller?
