Found a great gift for dad this morning while watching the news... they were interviewing the author of a new book, "Two Good Rounds" about golfers and their antics at the '19th hole' thru the years. Lots of pics and little known trivia about their fav beverages and reports of some of the good times they had back in the day. LOL, showed a pic of Arnold Palmer dancing with a guy wearing a wig. She said a woman was walking thru the bar when she got jostled by the crowd and lost her wig. Palmer's partner put it on and they began to dance... just as somebody with a camera snapped the shot.

Ordered it on Amazon this morning, along with a Sports Illustrated Golf Calendar for 2012... and a copy of O'Reilly's book, Killing Lincoln, for myself.

So see, OT, I'm being paid to shop this morning! WOO HOO!

Me too, keeping it simple this year. Donating to charity instead of buying stuff for people who need nothing. I asked my dad last night, "Can you think of anything you'd like for Christmas?" He said, "Yeah, for it to be over."

Told him I can handle that!

One of my 'bosses' is taking a group of us to lunch today at the YO Ranch Steakhouse in the west end. They specialize in all kinda exotic meats like ostrich & buffalo but I'll be having beef (burger)... best in town! One of the few places you can order it med rare and not worry about it since they grind their meat fresh.

Mmmmmm, can't wait!

'morning, HB! Luv the smiley... my kinda dude! I brought in a box of chocolate covered gingerbread cookies this morning. Very tasty!

These two weeks are our 'grazing' period at work. Everyday, somebody brings in snacks and we 'graze' all day. Also brought in a big bag of tortilla chips and jar of picante. That's for this afternoon. *burp*

 

Salty/Sweet....gotta have both, huh?

LOL, signed GS up to volunteer at the homeless Christmas party on Saturday. I can't do it because of a compromised immune system, but signed him up to be a 'runner' from 7:30 to 3 pm. I know he'll be thrilled at my generosity on his behalf.

Yeah, this stuff is nasty and it doesn't seem to matter if a person has had a flu shot or not, there's other strains going around. Glad I'm on the backside of it now. I'm hoping the coughing has helped tighten up some stomach muscles...

 

yep, the coughing was the worst part! Good ab exercise though -- Mary will be proud of us for finally working out!!

 

LOL..for sure! A way to excercise without ever getting out of bed....oh, wait..

 

Hi Kimi, great to see ya back. We missed ya. And speaking of getting out of bed, well I finally did. Today is the second day of Linda's vacation, she is taking two weeks off. So I am getting some catch up sleep in. Actually I am just being lazy. Normally I am up between 3:30 and 4:30 am. But since we are now on vacation, I get to be lazy.

I am glad that you are starting to feel better. I guess that I am just lucky. Mainly because I don't remember the last time that I was sick with even a little cold. Like I said, lucky.

Anyway, welcome back.
