Always welcome to have fun, but its secede. But also, Cali is the last place anyone would expect to see secession

I'm fairly certain I could find 25,000 people in a few states to sign a petition to reinstate slavery. To take this as anything more than the lashing out of a few lunatics would be to sell one's own intellect drastically short.

It would be very odd if it did happen, since they just voted out a pro-statehood governor.

No argument here, but the problem is that the status quo is a net financial loss for the U.S. as a whole. We dump a lot more money into PR than we get back from it.

You do realize that less than 1% of the population in those states are crazy enough to sign that petition, Right?

    Get real!

All those petitions do is to demonstrates whar lunatics a few Republicans really are!

(*)(*)(*)(*), I knew I should have listened to my Southern relatives and saved all that Confederate money. They said the South will rise again. Being a Yankee I didn't believe it.

Finding 25K Texans to sign something is easy, those morons don't have any idea what they are signing, and most can't read.
This is sour grapes and childish pouting. It makes the conservatives look even more stupid.

Patriotic victory? What is so patriotic in fracturing this country into believing that the other side hates Blacks, Latinos, women and etc.? They didn't win on issues. Obama has done very little to pull the country out of the mess it's in. So he did it by turning one side against the other. Nothing patriotic about that.

Oh yes they can. They have a much bigger population now. They have many of the factories and railroads they lacked in the Civil War. The North has lost much of the advantages they had in 1861. Even then, it took the North years to defeat the South, with three times the population.

Seriously, turn off fox and hate radio, they lost you the election, they have lied to you for years and they will keep doing it to you as long as you let them.
You can not seriously think that President Obama is the one who has divided the nation, no possible way anyone with any working brain cells can think that.

    Best post in this thread.

While Republican reactions on this board have been over the top, same was true of the Democrats reactions in 2004 when Bush won.The folks were similarly ridiculing the Democrats then as they are the Republicans now.

People are funny in that they have short, compartmentalized memories.

I listen to Liberal radio and television much more than I watch Fox. I'm not so stupid I can't look at both sides and see what happened. I can even see the big mistakes the Republicans made as you can see by this thread

Until most red states contribute more than they get back from the feds, they just aren't financially viable for independence.

All this secession talk is just bluster coming from a very small group of people. And again, whenever a natural disaster hits, people drop the secession talk while begging for FEMA.

Reality precludes secession. The only states that could actually manage it and benefit from it are mostly in the Northeast and West Coast.

My posted opinion here and there looks at both sides and sees what happened. In the thread I put up it shows how Republicans misread the American people. Here it showed how the Left tried to divide the American people because of the lack of a good policy to run on.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier if they all just went out and bought a pacifier?
