First, I have some serious doubts about the legitimacy of this story. Second, if true, it violates the Roe v Wade ruling of the Supreme Court. Third, once a fetus becomes viable (according to Roe v Wade), it is granted all the rights of American citizenship guaranteed by the Constitution. So, as a liberal Democrat, & a Pro-Choice supporter, I say absolutely NO to any action such as described here. While I'm not an attorney, I believe Roe v Wade dictates that during the third trimester, the rights of the unborn fetus are the same as for any American citizen. That is, it's life is protected by law, and to end it would be regarded as murder. I support that ruling.

 

yep, this law was just to block valid abortion, did nothing to protect actual babies that were born... in fact may of prevented the destruction of extra sperm and egg in In-Vitro cases - which may of prevented some babies from ever being born ironically as it woudl raise the cost of the procedure

In fact, a little more reading on the subject would show you that Republican groups are taking note of those who have voted against Sasse's bill - and they will use it against Dem presidential candidates. Late term abortions represent less than 1.3% of abortions - and they exist for medical reasons, not a willy nilly choice. Why aren't the Republicans putting important bills - that impact the lives of Americans - rather than focusing on bills that are designed to inflame emotions?
