What exactly is the point of registering guns? Will the act of registering a gun prevent a person from using said gun to kill? No. Will having law-abiding citizens register their guns stop criminals from continuing to obtain guns illegally? No.
What exactly will forcing law-abiding citizens to register guns do?

Like guns, cars are legal. Like cars, guns should be registered.

You not answering the question did not go unnoticed ;)

For what reasons should guns be registered? What would it accomplish?

Why are you afraid of helping the police? Don't you want to be a good citizen?

It helps prevent straw sales and guns can be taken from prohibited persons

We should not require search warrants anymore, either, and let the government have full access to our domiciles, communication and data storage, just so we can help the police.

No more Miranda or 5th Amendment, either. Let's help the police. They are on our side.

Are you kidding? We already know criminals have illegal guns. Criminals don’t register guns because criminals can’t legally purchase guns.

And we should make it harder for them to buy guns

You may not realize this but guns don't start off in the possession of criminals. So register them at every point.

I'm surprised you wouldn't want to help reduce crime?

Guns are already taken from prohibited persons. If you have a criminal record and caught with a gun...it’s taken away.
How many straw purchases by individuals who are not licensed gun sellers end up in criminals hands?

But after registration if you then become a prohibited person your gun can be taken.

Let's make straw purchases much harder.....yes?

Funny, as a law-abiding gun owner I would have no problem registering my firearms. Why would any honest person object?

That already happens. If you are arrested for a felony your guns are taken away.

How can guns be taken if no one knows you have them. Registration solves this.

    More than one

They would know in cases where the person was arrested for a felony involving a gun. When a person is arrested for hitting his wife, you better beleive the cops will be told the guy has guns.
The only people who aren’t going to admit to owning guns are career criminals who wouldn’t register their guns anyway.

I do know because I beleive law enforcement can search the home of a person who has been arrested for a felony anyway.

Sure they would since I beleive law enforcement can search your home if you’ve been arrested for a felony.

Not without a warrant. If they can show he has registered guns then you get the warrant. Also you do not have to keep guns at home
