The RINOs guessed wrong about trump

They thought he was an anomaly who would be gone in two years

As for bipartisanship and compromise it does not exist

America is close to the sort of divide that leads to a total breakdown of civility

Think Russia after the Czar or the Spanish Civil War

I wouldn't be surprised if we wound up with the most 'do-nothing' House in history, but the big prize in this election - the Senate - is an entirely different matter.

In addition to blocking any unilateral Democrat initiatives coming out of the House, the Senate will still have federal judges to approve and perhaps another seat on the Supreme Court bench to fill. Ruth Bader Ginsburg looks like she is going to kick the bucket any minute...

Not talking the past talking the future we already know they opposed in the past. Try again

The Democrats are going to oppose middle class tax cuts, a continued expanding economy, increasing wages, record low unemployment including minorities?

Is that why the Democrats reelected Menendez?

You are correct. Incompetent and petulant Bonespurs is trying to take credit for 8-9 year trends.

Presidents have very little impact on the economy.

You are probably right but I am cautiously optimistic after elections. Looking back, it really has not mattered to me personally which party or which candidate has won elections throughout my life. I am not an alarmist more of an interested observer when it comes to politics in general. I subscribe to the theory of the Great Kinky Friedman the leader of Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys who once ran for Governor of Texas. He said of politics: “The word politics comes from Latin origins,

    Poly, as in many, and

Tics, as in blood sucking insects

Most of the politicians from both parties fit Kinky’s definition to a tee. Especially the ones like Pelosi and McConnell who have been around for decades...

We share the same belief. Career politicians only care about their employment.

With respect to what issues? He made a general statement about working with Democrats, which he's done on a number of occasions in the past. His words are meaningless.

Evidently they felt he was innocent until proven guilty. The GOP elected a couple guys who are under felony indictment too, Hunter and Collins...Sword cuts both ways.

In any case, America will continue to survive and thrive, as always. What is really important to me this time of year is:

Steelers vs Patriots for AFC Championship. Steelers will run the table and avenge their only unavenged loss to KC in the playoffs then play Pats in Pittsburgh for the AFC...Our defense is starting to click. It seemed like Roethlisberger led the team in tackles for the first four games then have steadily improved every game since. Our O line is protecting and blowing holes for Conners and our D is putting serious heat on QBs. Our cover guys are not getting burned....See you in the Burgh in January!

Bold prediction. That tie might come back to haunt the steelers when it comes to playoff seeds. Especially for home field advantage....

See you on the 16th next month though

That will be for home field throughout. The Chiefs will fade down the stretch. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chargers win the division.

Democrats are estimated to pick up 36 seats in the House and 7 Governorships. And it will take a while, but I can promise you that they also picked up hundreds of state and local elections as well. Democrats earned around 7.5% higher when it came to the popular vote nationwide. And it will take a while to analyze the numbers, but I can almost certainly guarantee you that Democrats performed better (compared to 2016 and 2014) in hundreds of districts around the country.

Republicans - might - pick up two seats in the Senate. And they might pick up zero.

That is not a Blue Tsunami, but it most certainly is a blue wave.

The dems have been on a losing streak since 2010

And in America politics runs in cycles

Plus there is some validity to the browning of America meme which leads to political power for democrats and socialism

But this is America which God smiles on so we muddle through somehow

Trump is absolutely and solely the person to blame for losing the house.

    You are mistaken

Liberal media propaganda persuaded 40 + anti trump swamp rats in the house to retire because they believed the blue wave lie

If the GOPs in congress had pulled together and fully supported trump after his election the 2018 election would have been a blowout for republicans

You must be insane if you think that Republican Congressmen chose to retire because of "liberal media propaganda."

They were perfectly capable of looking at the polling from their own districts - districts where Trump was personally polling much, much worse than his already 50+ disapproval rating nationally.

Democrats are going to end up winning the Popular Vote for the US Congress by around 8 million votes when it is all said and done. A signal vote for supporting or against Trump was the primary vote factor for at least 40% of voters and those voter broke against Republicans by at least a 60-40 split.
