Thats a very crude way of debating

Though probably typical of most liberals

Later on in the post after you settled down there was a spark of rational thought

The republicans are their own worst enemy

If the GOP has supported trump during the first two years the would not have lost yje house last night

But in fact the gop swamp rats in congress gave the voters very little reason to keep them in the majority

Losing the house is a setback

I dont know the final numbers but it appears that the dems do not have a big majority in the house

Just enough to prevent trump from getting anything done

Yes, they have enough to oppose, but controlling the House alone also means they are not in position to do much else. We can expect lot of investigations and oversight rhetoric, but that's pretty much it. Same thing happened to Obama.

From regular citizens POV, a gridlock in DC is not a bad thing.

The Democrats are going to oppose middle class tax cuts, a continued expanding economy, increasing wages, record low unemployment including minorities?

If you are a Republican who is into politics, then that is understandable, but I was referring to overall situation in the nation. Gridlock keeps politicians occupied fighting each other, and that tends to lessen the government presence in economics and other aspects of life.

Looks like Walker is losing his Governor race, which means the GOP lost 7 Governor seats yesterday and 300+ seats in State governments.

I am surprised Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez actually won her race.

Constitution clearly allows Congress to pass laws without Presidential signature.

Yeah, but you think there are enough votes to override a veto?

    The answer is no

Democrats can only block the trump agenda but cannot impose an agenda of their own

I wouldn’t call it a win for the be President, I wouldn’t call it a repudiation either. He has to be concerned with what happened in the Blue Wall states. They were convincing in their support for the Democrats. Even Wisconsin tosses Scott Walker a Trump supporter.

Was it Hillary who lost them and not the Dem party?

The washington establishment is desperate to prevent trump from getting anything done

Because their reputation as professionals is on the line and threatened by a non politician

    1. Losing the House is certainly not a win, winning several crucial senate seats is a very substantial silver lining though, the 2 republican female senators and Rand Paul will no longer be able to keep Trump hostage. Legislating will become next to impossible, nominating judges and cabinet members will become a cakewalk.

    2. It was a repudiation - after 3 years of merciless non-stop smear, lies, the Russian hoax, 95% negative Media coverage, comparisons with Hitler, accusations of racism and nazism - Trump won just about every senatorial race he got himself involved in and defied century old historical trends by preventing a wave election, losing a very moderate number of House seats and increasing the senate majority which is pretty unprecedented.

Controlling the house could be crucial if the 2020 presidential race is an electorial college tie in 2020

That assures a socislist democrat president in the white house

If Dems were smart, they would get rid of Pelosi ASAP.

Pelosi could turn out to be a moderate compared to the rest of the democrat leadership in the house which is perhsps even wackier

I don't thinks so. Lot of Dems say she is a major turn-off. Same with independents.

And he lost every single House race he supported. Go figure.

Can he hang on to that Blue Wall that got him elected in 2016?

Actually I could make a case Scott Walker lost because of Donald Trump with help from Foxconn.

He didn't campaign for Walker and congressional candidates, he campaigned for senatorial candidates and Desantis in FL and almost all of then won, many with large margins, defying pollsters and fake news. This IS repudiation. Duh

He did campaign for the House seats too, at least here in FL. Why wouldn't he?

More delicious ... Democrats that smeared, and voted against Kavanaugh paid the price. Looks like democratic voters do have limits after all.
