You are wrong about that, but I'll get to that a little further down in the "behind on the narrative" part.

They were offered the chance to perform a criminal act and they pursued it. Not sure how you are still missing that as I've stated it several times and will do so once more during this response.

Here's the part where you are behind on the narrative. You see, everyone involved in this meeting has had shifting stories about what happened as they try to come up with ways to cover things up. First they hid the existence of the meeting and the story was that no one in the Trump campaign ever met with any Russians. Then they did meet, but (in this case anyway) the new story was that they just met to talk about adoptions (this is the part of the story Trump himself helped lie about, and then he lied about being involved in the cover up. Two lies for the price of one!). Then the did meet, and now they met because they were offered dirt on Clinton, but the Russians failed to bring said dirt to the meeting and so they talked about adoptions instead. That's the part of the narrative you are on right now. In fact, if you do you're homework you'll find the story has progressed since then. Now the story is that the lawyer brought a plastic folder/portfolio with her that had info about Clinton's financial dealings in Russia that she thought to be legally damaging, but it was too complicated for the Trump team to comprehend so they passed on it. That's what I'm talking about. You are quoting her from earlier in this cover up. She no longer denies having dirt on Clinton.

Unfortunately, this is what "debate" looks like when you can't actually address the facts.

You are correct. That was my misreading. You said they paid for information sourced by the Russian government. Which also hasn't been shown.

That's demonstrably false. You've speculated quite a bit here in this thread.

The FBI says it was able to corroborate parts of the dossier. And I've said dozens of times now that the Clinton campaign should be investigated too. However, there is so far no evidence that anyone in the Clinton campaign even knew that Steele or any other foreign national was working on this. They paid a law firm who paid a private intelligence agency who paid Steele. If they knew a foreign national was working on this then, yes, someone needs to throw the book at them.

With the Trump campaign, they knew Russia, a hostile foreign power, was actively trying to interfere in the election in the favor of their candidate. And no only did they fail to inform the FBI, which it was their responsibility to do, but they actively sought to collude with them in their attempts. The only question is whether or not they were successful in these efforts.

That last part, whoever told it to you, is a flat-out lie. You should know by now that the Russia investigation didn't start with this dossier. You should also know that Page had been under surveillance long before he joined the Trump campaign because of contacts with Russian intelligence; this FISA warrant wasn't new; it was a renewal. Furthermore, Page wasn't Hillary's political enemy. He was no longer even working for the Trump campaign when the warrant was issued. I'm skeptical about the FISA courts, but Page is a textbook example of the perfect use case for it.

If the FBI and imaginary insider "Hillary allies" were determined to abuse the Steele dossier to spy on a "political enemy," they would have used it to spy on everyone mentioned in the dossier, even Trump himself, and they certainly wouldn't have limited themselves to one guy who wasn't even part of the campaign anymore.

Read that last part again a few times and you should be able to piece together what a real witch hunt would look like and why this isn't one.

Other people familiar with the investigation, even those appointed by Trump himself, say it isn't a witch hunt. Nice try. ROFL.

A hostile foreign power attempted to interfere in our elections, just as they have in other Western democracies. One campaign was aware of these efforts and, not only did they fail in their responsibility to alert the FBI, but they actively pursued collusion with said hostile power. At least one ally of the campaign was in direct communication with the Russian hackers and with the organization that leaked the stolen information. They lied about over 100 meetings with said hostile power. The President himself was actively involved in trying to cover up the truth of at least on key meeting. One campaign member was in communication with Russia telling them that the US would be removing sanctions against them for these activities.

It isn't a witch hunt for the FBI to investigate the above. It would be one of the most extreme examples of a dereliction of duty for them to ignore it.

Only for those who don't understand what a witch hunt is or do not understand the history of our country. But I understand that sound byte is part of the marching orders.

What motivates you to continue to push the hoax? The thing's been dead for over a year.

I could ask the same thing of you in declaring it all a hoax? The facts and convictions to date seem to paint an entirely different story. Trump's malfeasance has been alive for decades.

"The facts and convictions to date seem to paint an entirely different story."

They do not. It's a hoax.

"Trump's malfeasance has been alive for decades."

Which has what to do with the hoax?

They did not "perform a criminal act". They were told there was dirt, they were skeptical as Trump Jr said "IF what you say is true" and when they showed up they got ntohing. They had no idea what information they would be receiving.....or if they were receiving anything. They checked it out. This is not a criminal act. You are having one hell of a time with this simple concept. It's not hard, leftie.

Here you go again. You are lying. You are quoting an old fake left wing news story from almost two years ago (July 2017) when Rinat Akhmetshin (who attended the Trump Tower meeting with Veselnitskaya) said she turned over a "binder" and left wing news sources turned it into fake news about being a binder on Clinton. Akhmetshin was asked extensively under oath about this by the Senate Judiciary Committee over a year ago. He said the binder contained nothing about Clinton. It's about the Ziff brothers.

    Here's his entire interview: https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Akhmetshin Transcript_redacted.pdf

The memo seized by CNN that talks about the meeting going into has nothing about Hillary Clinton. And the message got warped as it passed from person to person. https://foreignpolicy.com/2017/10/16/heres-memo-kremlin-lawyer-took-to-meeting-donald-trump-jr/

I'll quote Veselnitskaya AGAIN because you couldn't get it the first time: "I never had any damaging or sensitive information about Hillary Clinton. It was never my intention to have that."

The two sides were brought together by a 3rd party and each side thought the focus was going to be something it was not. That's not collusion or conspiracy. That's left wing psychosis. Lulz

True. You've yet to name a single one. Keep flailing, though.

Here you go again. Lying through your teeth. The FBI has corroborated NOTHING in the dossier except for a couple claims that were publicly known before Steele wrote it: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/fbi-has-not-verified-trump-dossier
    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...for-answers-on-trump-dossier-they-got-nothing

Why do you keep lying and spreading left wing filth? The dossier is a joke....and those who believe it's nonsense....even more so.

Tell the FBI what? Tell the FBI that they got setup with lies by a 3rd party and the Russians they talked to had no information Hillary Clinton? ROFL. Think, man.....just for once. Good lord.

Here you go again with the left wing lies. I know certain individuals in the DOJ said it didn't start with the dossier. They said it started withGeorge Papadopolous. A couple problems. The timeline doesn't jive and, secondly, the FBI didn't get around to even interviewing Papadopolous until February 2017. The FBI was so concerned that they launched a counterintelligence probe into a Presidential candidate, were investigating a DNC email hack, and the guy that launched the whole thing and may have valuable information they won't even stop by to ask him a few questions. ROFL. Only lefties are dumb enough to believe that nonsense. You guys lap this stuff up. More fake news.

As for Carter Page, he was cleared in 2013. They stopped surveillance of him when they realized he wasn't spying and that Russians were calling him an "idiot". And, yes, they were investigating a campaign because by re-starting the spying of Page that allowed them to dip into his past communications...texts, emails, etc. They gained insider access to a Presidential campaign through lies and a left wing hoax. The FISA application even admits they were looking at the Trump campaign. And the since now debunked dossier was used as the "bulk" of the application to spy on him because they wouldn't have been able to get the warrant without it. These left wing clowns in the FBI and DOJ were turning our country into a left wing banana republic before they were all fired, demoted, or chased out for corruption.

Peter Strozk, Lisa Page, Andrew McCabe, Bruce Ohr, James Rybicki, Lorett Lynch, Susan Rice, James Clapper, John Brennan, etc., etc, etc. To name just a few. Most have been fired, demoted, stripped of security clearance, or chased away in disgrace for left wing corruption. No way in hell you can't claim these people aren't Hillary's allies. That's beyond hilarious. And Page was the only one they had any chance to get a warrant on. All they had to do is say "we were looking at this guy before" and showed a bunch of new lies. These things are rubber stamped in that situation. Educate yourself on the process, buddy.

    .

Here we go again with your lies. There were NO meetings of significance as it relates to collusion. Russia wasn't this "hostile foreign power" when Obama said he would have more flexibility after the election, or when he told Mitt Romney the 1980's relationship with Russia was "in the past", or when he sent Hillary over with their juvenile reset button because Bush had been so mean to Putin. There is always this massaging the facts to meet your narrative. And "one campaign member" said no such thing about the possibility of removing sanctions. That was Michael Flynn, who while acting in his role as the new incoming National Security Adviser, discussed sanctions and policy with the Russians. Good lord, you're an embarrassment.

As Michael Dowd said, he knows all the facts, all the interviews, the entire investigation. It's the greatest political witch hunt in American history. The Russians wanted to meddle and sow chaos....and the low IQ lefties have lead it just that. I'm sure Putin has been laughing his ass off for 3 years now. You people are a disgrace to this country.

The entire Mueller investigation is based on a manufactured 'conspiracy theory'.

Considering the evidence, do you feel there's a case for Russia colluding with the Democrats?

He's more likely bemused as to WTF is going on in the West? The trouble is that we're too bloody stupid to stop digging - the US about 'Russian interference', and the UK about effing Skripal.

Thanks. Guess you are confirming your inability. Going with the Trump approach is the best you can do then it is the best you can do. Of course his fake news is almost always turns out to be true so there you go.

Not to mention of course the almost endless lies from the Trump team about Russian contacts. One or two maybe could be dismissed as errors but the record of lying certainly points to a an effort by the Trump team to pretend there was no collusion with Russia! When you can convict Flynn, Trump's personal lawyer, his campaign manager, and no it looks like Stone is going down. Too much smoke for there to be no fire. But we will find out if the Mueller report is ever released. And if it isn't released then we will have proof positive!

    Going back to this post:

Trump is not destroying our alliances, systematically, or otherwise. - Fake News.

Our traditional European allies are mad that Trump isn't marching along with Brussels and Davos. Well, we have the right to chart our own course. That they want a butt-kisser isn't Trump's fault.

Trump is not fostering division within the country. - Blatant Fake News.

Trump doesn't have any mystical powers. He can't compel all of the left to be dividing us.

Trump is not responsible for the obscene deficit. - More Fake News.

In our system of government, Congress writes the budget. The President merely signs it.

With our corrupt Congress, in order to obtain the things that the country needs, the President is forced to sign off on all kinds of fraud and waste.

So many Trumpers believe confirmation news. If the news does not fit their world view, then despite all the evidence to the contrary it has to be fake. :)

Why not explain to Joe how all those members of the Trump campaign were charged and convicted of colluding with Russia?
