The reality is that individuals do lose their right to defend themselves. Here in Los Angeles, no CCWs are issued unless you are a politician, judge, or a celebrity. A 100lb female does not need a machine gun to protect herself from a 200lb rapist. She gets no right to protection here in the bluest part of the bluest state.

Not completely true. Our basic handgun classes for new shooters are full as are our carry permit applicants. These are not people that already own firearms but most will after completing their training.

 

What you call "stockpiling" guns is what many other people call "collecting" & collecting firearms is no different than collecting old coins, cars, stamps, Civil War Artifacts and the list is endless. The difference is that you can enjoy target shooting & can hunt with your different WW2 rifles for example.

I suspect that you are probably talking about AR-15s, AK-47s, high capacity magazines etc but I don't understand why someone would buy something that would be illegal to possess after they are banned unless they were to sell them on the new Black Market that would emerge with the introduction of various gun ban schemes at work around the country.

yeah, like the black market for machine guns, all the mass shooters use them....

unlike Drugs that are easily grown or produced, and sold in huge quantity, machine guns, ar-15's ect, would be hard to produce and sold in lower quantity as they have less demand, making them not worth the risk of prison time

Other than in museums I haven't seen a machine gun since 1968. They're unaffordable and the red tape is unbearable except for the quite wealthy.
