The issue is why? There is no question that these types of weapons seem to be the weapon of choice for mass shooters. Also no question they serve no useful purpose. So why make it easy for idiots to kill large numbers of people

    Serious question!.

Gee, online companies don't give info to the politicians, that is rich. Don't look now but Facebook is looking for another dupe who just fell off the turnip truck. Not nonsense to people who believe in privacy. As for me, I don't think it is anyone's business what I own. Beyond that, anyone who thinks the polls are infallible, need look no farther than the last presidential election. Seems to me the really stupid ones are the ones who keep citing polls.

Self defense is a very useful purpose and AR's are fantastic in that regard.

It wasn't so long ago that hunting supplies were proposed to be added to the food stamp program as a source of protein. I think it was in NY of all places. It never went anywhere, of course, but the idea of subsidizing guns/ammo isn't anything new.

I wouldn't oppose a program to assist the lower class in the purchase of a weapon for self defense, and I think firearm safety/proficiency classes should be offered with taxpayer funds, preferably as a core study in school.

I use mine for wild boar and coyote hunting. I have also used it for ground hogs. It has little recoil, is accurate, and is cheap to shoot. Those who fear it really know little about firearms. There are dozens of weapons out there that make it look like a toy.

Wrong on both accounts. The weapon of choice is a handgun. If they really wanted a lethal weapon, they'd use a shotgun. As far as the BS "no useful purpose" statement that's a huge lie or otherwise they would not be in common use. Fixed it for you.

I should have said they serve no useful purpose that could not be filled by other weapons.

Foul mouth Hogg quickly became the poster boy for NRA recruitment with his hysterical comments. The gang of three, in their youthful ignorance, didn't fully understand the consequence of their own preachy sermons....and were taken aback by the reactions. Let's hope the Hogg enjoyed his fifteen minutes of fame, and now quietly slips back into anonymity!

For instance? Can you give an example that outperforms the platform as whole?

Plus semi automatic hand guns = large numbers of casualties

To me it is the capacity for rapid fire that is a central problem

When 20-30 people can be killed in the first two minutes then it is too late for even the good guy with a gun

The last polls before the elections and after the Russian interference and the Comey memo showed the race as a tie within the margin of error. Conservatives keep using the early polls as their basis for dissing polls.

Outperforms at which function other than mass murder? The main benefit of that platform appears to be that you need no skill whatsoever to kill a lot of people fast!

And yet the deadliest school shooting in the history of the united states was committed with nothing more than two handguns, each limited to magazines that held no more than ten rounds of ammunition. Explain why such is the case.

Because of course one example is representative of nothing. That should be obvious to almost anyone.

But of course if you want to use single examples tell us what weapon was used in the deadliest mass shooting in US history.

Then do not use the Las Vegas incident as a specific example of anything in need of being addressed.

Incidents committed by only a single perpetrator? Or incidents committed with only one firearm?

You're trying to BS us while cherry picking your data or outright lying. In the Aurora shooting a shotgun, shot for shot was the deadliest weapon. In Umpqua an AR was NEVER fired.
Despite what the media says, pistols are by far the most prevalent weapon. In the US more than half of mass shooting are done with more than one weapon. Get it straight.

And you know this just how? I bet you didn't know that many/most AR's have malfunctioned during mass shootings for a variety of reasons. Having an AR doesn't immediately make you Davy Crockett either. But you have no real answer except for the mindless liberal talking points about the AR and related firearms. You really don't know a thing about the platform, its history or what it's used for. Typical.

And your post was supposed to demonstrate superior knowledge. Don't make me laugh. But do tell what most people use AR's for with evidence of course.

Yep, the gun peddlers have been making fools of the righties for decades. They throw out some fear mongering and sell boatloads of weapons that will never be used, less once or twice.

What a bunch of suckers!!! Billions of dollars in useless hardware sold, all based on nothing but tales of the boogie man.

So the nuts have 51 guns instead of 50 guns now. Big deal.

I used the Las Vegas incident to illustrate the vacuity of your post.
