With only a few exceptions, for most people, in most every day situations, believing in, and treating the world as FLAT is a very pragmatic, effective, and beneficial perspective.

Additionally, ALL of U.S. do so, including yourself, in almost every second of every day.

Seldom is the opportunity, and rare is the career, where knowing and viewing the world as round on a continuous basis is actually beneficial, practical and / or needed.

No person ever born, KNEW true reality. No person EVER WILL! We all live in models of reality, which function for our everyday needs.

People of Faith have a huge edge up on the OP, because they can change their perspective based on the needs of their situation.

Some people are just too limited to achieve it.

Some people who cannot, are just too narrow and closed minded.

Now it's true, I'm currently an Atheist. It's a logical choice as the story of the Bible doesn't match up with any of the knowledge that's proven to be true though scientific investigations. The big 'G' God -- the god of Christians, Jews, Islamists-- can't exist according to science and real history. Little 'g' god -- a god of nature -- is a concept of Deism and while such a god might exist he/she/it is unknowable and so there's no way to know what they want much less what rituals are correct. Religion doesn't hold any value for me, in that case.

Atheism is the second best position to be in, IMO, because while I may be Apostate, being without God, I'll never be guilty of Heresy by following the wrong set of rituals. If you think about it, rituals are just creepy cult-like stuff dripping with humanness and fluff, soothing and calming though they may be. If you want to create rituals for yourself go right ahead, but I'm happy to be rid of this burden.

Now the thing is, You don't know anything about my background to make such assumptions about my fears.

You see, in my childhood I always had a VERY good memory so that I counted every day, well up until some years in my teens when I suffered amnesia for several years (but I don't want to bother you with my problems so I'll avoid this story here). Now, in with those memories, my first memories actually precede my birth as I was in fact a ball of light created in a chamber, somewhat polygonal like those found in a giant hive. And, when I was fully formed and ready to go, that chamber had an opening looking out onto a huge structure that must have been a million miles across, so large it practically vanished into a whitish haze. The entire structure was filled with similar chambers to the one I started in. I flew out as I didn't have a body, but I was just a ball of energy.

Now some people might call this a soul, but if I was a soul in these memories it means that souls are actually created in batches, like cookies, but not preexisting timelessly beforehand.

Now , in this place, I had access to a pool of knowledge so vast I practically knew everything that would ever happen, and time itself had no meaning to me as I could travel to any moment in time, and experience it anytime I wanted, but as an observer not to actually live it and relive it. Now the thing is, in this state I had powers and a special freedom of movement, but as part of this existence I also had to make a major choice to live a life. As for each batch of "souls" there were a limited number of lives up for grabs as possible choices. I actually couldn't decide in time, the first time, and every life available was taken. So I spent some time plumbing the depths of that place and exploring. Later, after time passed, a new group of lives came up. I couldn't decide again. But, eventually, after making it though, I ended up with a choice of two lives, one was a girl who would suffer abuse and the other was a boy who would live rather well, and there were two of us "souls" left in that batch. I would have rather lived well, I'm sorry to say, than abused, but at the same time I didn't want to doom the other soul to such a horrible life. I hesitated, and the other soul seemed to sense it in me and took the abused girl. I always feel guilty about that encounter. But, my choice was made for me and it was good for me..

Now I crossed a barrier and arrived here in the real world, this was a permanent choice as I can't go back, at least for now, because I committed to this universe, it's too complicated to tell you about, and I was surprised that I was still a ball of light and I still could fly and use my powers, as I didn't think this was possible in this universe. But this helped me exist between moments, hiding in plain sight, so no one noticed me. Now I could merge with my target, but where was it? The thing was, I was guided to the infant across space and time as there was a point that called out to me and I followed it. Now I had a little time to myself as the baby me wasn't born yet, so I could fly around a bit and investigate this world and my future life. Eventually, after the baby was born I was in a panicked rush to meet up with it as I only had a limited time to bond with the baby soon after birth, to fail would mean being cut off from the life experience forever.

I don't know why, but there is a spot on the top and in the back of the newborn's skull, I can only guess it's called the Posterior Fontanelle (from the description it sounds about right), which is the preferred entry point for such a pairing. I was rather nervous but fortunately I had some guidance from the other side, which helped me to attach a "strand," for lack of a better word, from a piece of myself through what I guess was the Posterior Fontanelle. And, so the strand is enclosed inside the skull as it grows together. This would be a binding that would act as both a tracer, because I could still wander a little, but after the joining not as far, and the strand also acted as an access point between the minds of energy ball me and baby me.

Now, I made two major mistakes in this transaction. 1. I brought a lot of knowledge with me from the other side and overestimated a newborn brain's holding capacity. 2. I didn't expect to be cut off so soon from the other side once the joining was completed, and I didn't realize how much of my knowledge was being held by minds on the other side. So, I was in a rush to transcribe my knowledge into baby me's brain as what I took with me was a heavy load even for energy ball me to remember. Within minutes most of the knowledge was gone. I tried to prioritize events that were important to my own life, as I knew what would happen to me in the future. I still lost practically all of it. In fact I now only remember something if I concentrate on a subject and by chance it triggers a memory that had strong emotional content (like death, major life events, or pain of myself, or a loved one, or an acquaintance).

It's called dedication. It's a decision you made.

Your "faith" in this case is simply a manifestation in your trust of yourself and others' abilities. If you did not trust them/yourself you would have quit.

Neither science nor faith dictate what you should decide to do. Science isn't some kind of moral code like a religion, it is a process for figuring out how things work. Your decisions regarding your life have nothing to do with that.

The very cornerstone of Democracy is belief in and acquiescence to the Collective Opinion.

Democracy, despite its many flaws, has done more good, for more people, than Socialist Authoritarian Statism has ever dreamed of, by several orders of magnitude.

Does any of your works support the accusation that the faithful are any more mathematically challenged than the average poster here? Show me your stats.

Has anyone else noted that while the OP went on and on blowing his own Math and Science Horn, he really couldn't talk at all about Faith?

Maybe someone should start a thread titled:

The lack of Spiritual and Religious Knowledge in Science Geeks.

But then having a sense of perspective, humility, and confident skill in human interactions, pretty much eliminates the need for self ego stroking among those who are spiritually and religiously educated.

So I guess you wouldn't see such a thread...

Obviously....I NEVER stated that any particles or particle/wave forms were composed of Math.

What I have been saying is that Physics and Mathematics are intrinsically tied together as Physics is the science and study of Universal Natural Laws as calculated and defined by Mathematics.

For the 6th time I will say this again....a person who is religious or has faith does not mean they are an Ultra-Religious Zealot.

The vast majority of Christian's and Muslims, Jews...etc...and their Religious Institutions have all admitted and confirmed such scientifically proven realities such as Evolution, Old Testament Stories such as Genesis being simply a way for ancient man to attempt to describe the unknown...and how the Earth is over 4.5 Billion Years Old.

Now the ZEALOTS of such religions REFUSE to accept such proven scientific realities and even though their own Religious Leaders accept these facts....the Zealots will not....nor do such Zealots attempt to learn or better themselves by studying science and mathematics.

You never cease to either amaze me or cease to make me laugh...a lot! LOL!!!

This Topic has NOTHING to do with a person having a soul or not and even if a person has a soul this STILL would make no difference as to this Topic!!!

    You are too funny!! LOL!!!

I can see it now..."JOHNNY! Put down that science book!!! It is an affront to Jesus!!" LOL!!!

Or better yet...."Mama say's learnin' math is the DEVILS education!"

I have NO IDEA why you are even posting this as this has NOTHING to do with this topic as the topic is specific to ZEALOTS.

I would be more than happy to find or have some kind of data or evidence supporting the possibility of a soul existing or a GOD existing....but as of yet no such data or proof has EVER been presented or existed.

Just because love can be broken down into it's Biochemical and Mathematical roots does not make love any less real.

Your above post is akin to saying....just because people know that light is comprised of Photons which are Quantum Particle/Wave Forms and as existing as both Particle and Wave can exist at specific frequencies as well Photons travel at 186,282 miles per second which means we know that the distance to the nearest Star which is Proxima Centauri...a Red Dwarf Flare Star is 4.2 Light Years....which is 4.2 times the distance light travels in a year which is 4.2 x 6 Trillion Miles....and we know because of this distance of 4.2 Light Years when we look at Proxima Centauri we are actually looking 4.2 years in the PAST.

So in this your post is basically saying all this math and science that allows us to understand what exactly LIGHT is and what it is made of and the velocity it travels at and the frequencies it can obtain would some how take away from our true understanding of what LIGHT is.

Such scientific and mathematical understandings of LIGHT as well as LOVE only increase our understandings of such things they NEVER take away from them.

I can tell you right now I KNOW I have a great deal more knowledge specific to various religions, ancient religious texts, the how, whens, where's and why's the Roman Christian Churches Biblical Cannon allowed and picked and chose specific Gospels and Books to be added into the New Testament over other Gospels and Books that were NOT added in such as the Gospels of Judas, Mary, Philip, Simon, Benjamin, Peter and others.

If you think I am well versed in Mathematics and Science...JUST TRY....to match wits with me on aspects of Fath, Religion...of various types and Religious History.

You know what they say about people who assume?!!!

What is funny is that there is no Unified field theory. You have FAITH that everything can be expressed in mathematics, including love.

Irony is my favorite kind of humor.

It looks like above alpha is showing his intelligence again by trying to filibuster his own thread.

IMHO most of the ultra liberals I meat either have no education or have way too much education in a field that requires little to no math and science.

The fact that we have not yet developed or have yet come to understand what the Unified Field Theory is has no bearing on the FACT that such a Theory can exist.

We see examples of this during Fusion as when Hydrogen as H2 is fused with other Hydrogen we get Helium as well as Energy thus particles of Mass and Matter are being transformed into Energy.
This is the basis and tenet of the Unified Field Theory as if we could understand it we could convert Matter into Energy and back to Matter again....allowing Humanity to obtain an INFINITE source of Clean Energy as well as be capable of Teleportation...which we already are capable on an small Quantum Level....and this understanding of the UFT would also allow us to have Interstellar Travel at above Light Velocities.

I hope you are not saying I am an Ultra-Liberal because NOTHING could be further from the truth.

Show me by providing a single quote from any of my posts here that would prove I am as you say...."above alpha is showing his intelligence again by trying to filibuster his own thread."...end quote Windigo.

If you cannot...please retract your post.

No...Faith is the ability of a person to have belief in something that has absolutely zero evidence either scientifically or mathematically to support it.

There is PLENTY of scientific and mathematical proofs and examples that prove their is a UFT....even if we have not figured it out yet.
