Diana was treated as the nutty fruitloop she was. Why hasn't Camilla suffered the same fate? Or Princess Ann? Or Kate? Or Liz? Or the Queen Mother?

Don't you ever actually ask yourself why the press single out only the ones who PURELY COINCIDENTALLY, just happen to behave badly? Princess Margaret copped it for that very reason. She was a flakey misfit and, didn't try very hard to hide it.

    BINGO!

As a member of a mixed race family, and related to many other mixed marriages/families, I can guarantee that that question is not only not even slightly racists, but that it's incredibly common. It's asked in love, and is not one iota different to asking a ginger/blonde couple if they think the baby will be a redhead. Or wondering aloud if baby will be 'tall like dad' or 'short like mom'. It's the stuff families talk about when a new baby is on the way .. it's ****ing normal as hell. Families who DON'T have such conversations are dead weird, IMO.

Only someone with a solid investment in victimhood, and who is slightly sociopathic, could construe it as some kind of insult.

In any event, they should be able to make millions off of the notoriety.

Not sure if Harry even cares.
    Meghan sure doesn't.

Maybe Oprah gave Archie a million dollar bill instead. Kind of like when MTV wanted to deny it was ever paying for a music video so they instead paid for a documentary about the making of Michael Jackson's Thriller which included the money that was used to make the video so they would have something to document. When there is a dollar, there is a way.

I have difficulty understanding why you think because someone is good to look at, they are good to live with.

Yes I thought that is what the person I heard discussing say. Right now he would just be a Duke, not entitled to the Prince the point being he can't be denied that title because right now he ain't in the line. I am NO expert on this I assure you.

Didn't Harry give up his nobility and all rights to those privileges?

Oh wow, I didn't realize she identified as black... Is thst a thing? I thought she was possibly maybe mixed or tanned white. Her baby is definitely white.
I am not sure what this was about racism and talking about her baby's skin tone...
Maybe she was talking about her or her baby blackness and confused someone because her skin tone didn't correspond with her identity. Who knows

I just don't see the tie-in to politics. This isn't the National Inquirer.

Oh, I don't know ... since I'm a woman myself, maybe he wouldn't mind at all.

    The timing is important.
The convention which would have made Archie a Prince when Charles became king was changed without explanation before Harry decided to withdraw from royal duties and move to Canada.
My guess is that this was instigated by Charles as part of his wish to reduce the size of the royal family to just the direct line, cutting out his sister Anne and brothers Andrew and Edward and also his second son Harry.
Currently Anne, Andrew, Edward, Charles and all of their children are princes and princesses. In future it may only be those born in direct line to the throne that would get the title.
This would reduce the cost to the taxpayer, cause some bad blood between Charles and his brothers and sister but probably be popular with the public.
Currently Harry has retained his title as prince and Duke of Sussex but lost his income and security protection. Meghan is still a duchess.

Of course, the other side of that is THIS:

Why would anyone assume that somebody ISN'T "good to live with" just because they are Atttractive?

I take every situation individually, I could never stereotype a women as not "good to live with", just b/c they are Smokin' Hot.

Meghan seems like a really nice girl.

I am not among those who find it a useful exercise to trash her indiscriminately.

Uh.. when somebody has a concern how dark the skin might be.
Then it's obviously racist, since the "concern" = negativity is being linked to the dark skin color.

Is this concept of racism new to you?

No, I don't think the right is doing ALL the race baiting.
That's just you putting words in my mouth.
I wouldn't say that they are equally at fault either.

Lets see she hates her own family.. Implies her husbands family were racist bullies and then goes to speak to Oprah because she did not want the spot light or gossip. Sure.. I get it.....

If the royal family were racist, this would have come up when Harry decided to marry her, and most likely, they would have prevented it, and if he insisted, he would have had to leave the family at that time. Obviously, the family knew they would have kids; that's basically what the royal family is about, right? These young women are very much primed before marriage about what will be expected of them, and I am certain Meghan was too; probably even more so. I think she thought she could have it both ways, be a fairytale princess, but continue to live as she pleased. It never seems to end well when royals marry Americans.

Indeed. Nobody in the family can get married without permission of the queen. If she hadn't approved, there would have been no wedding.

No one has suggested that the comment about concern for the colour of the Sussex's baby came from Her Majesty. In fact the couple have made it clear that it did not come from the Queen or Prince Phillip.
Not naming the source was a classy move but now there will be endless speculation as to whether it was Kate or Charles or who ever.

Should have stuck to never complain, never explain.

Yes. Meghan's hotness has never been in question. I guess this is what you come up with when you want to defend someone but absolutely can't find anything defensible in their behavior.

    :roflol:

    What is there to "defend"?

Meghan is free to do whatever the hell that she wants to.

Nobody (repeat nobody) needs to "defend" her.

Btw--Who in this thread is "defending" Meghan?

The whole "defend her" thing sounds like BS hyperbole for people who have run out of relevant contributions to the thread.

    "Defending" Meghan?:roflol::bored:
