It was fraud in the inducement. The political class and the government it runs is all about defrauding the people to stuff the pockets of the political establishment.

The gov is just getting their money back.

What they are stuffing their pockets with is the blood of those they duped.

Prop 14 is a huge part of why the California Assembly and Senate is now super-majority Democrat. Republicans were already hanging on by a thread when Top Two was pushed by Abel Maldonado.

It's people with a propensity to spout off with wild theories while totally ignorant of the facts of the problem and based just off the headline of an article that makes California and pretty much every government a cesspool. Congratulations.

The government offered money to induce enlistment. Now look up "fraud in the inducement". The blood of those wounded and killed poured onto the battlefields.

The money always goes into the hands and pockets of the corrupt political class and its cronies. There is never any blood on their hands or in their pockets - just loot.

I think he means no other soldier got this, this was more then the government was offering

but I say punish the recruiters that got bonuses for enlisting so many extra based on false pretenses, let the soldiers keep the money

I agree, the recruiters represented the government, if they spent the money on the soldiers, it's already spent, let the soldiers keep it

if the recruiters broke laws doing this, then punish the recruiters

    Who runs the Pentagon?

I plan to write to any congressman or woman whom will listen

I really do not expect the Democrats here in my state of CA to listen. I can tell by the Democrat posters who defend what the Pentagon has done to our troops.

We can only blame the money grabbing politicians in Sacramento in the State of California that have passed this legislature and the governor that signed it. BTW who controls the California the government in California...? Is it the "Democrats" or "GOP" ?

I didn't vote for that so you can file that away in your "I had no idea" file.

Thanks for lecture, dad. California sucks because apparently I
skimmed over the OP too quickly....that's an interesting theory you have there.

Our military budget is grotesque, more than the next top 10 countries combined. And Americans wonder where the money goes.

IMO it's Obama's last hit at our military before he leaves office...although maybe he will still sneak something else in before he leaves.

Good riddance...and hopefully Hillary, who would be just as bad, will not get in and continue the screwing of our soldiers.

    The. http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2016/1...nal-Guard-vets-repay-their-reenlistment-bonus

The Christian Science Monitor had a goid article about this. Apparently the government screwed up and gave reinlistment bonuses to sone service members who were not eligible.
The story gets more complicated by the fact that a Califirnia bonus manager was nailed fir processing improper bonuses. The problem apoears to be much worse in CA.

So now there are Guard members who through no fault of there own were given improper bonuses and the government wants the money back.

    That is the outrage.

Thus us nit partisan this us not political it is one big cluster.............k.

No fault of their own? The requirements for the bonuses were clear. They were trying to scam the system.

Considering liberals want to forgive college loans this is absurd.

The Pentagon isn't California. The Pentagon is collecting the money Ca gave out to those who reenlisted saying they should not have got those bonuses.

Considering it's the Pentagon going after the money, this isn't about liberals.

The soldiers didn't steal those bonuses. The California National Guard gave them the bonuses in return for reenlistment. The Pentagon needs to get their money from the California National Guard. They were the guilty party in all of this mess.

That we must. So, how on earth are we to do that? Right now, the system is working against us. We're divided while the two parties are united in their oligarchic control over every aspect of our lives. It's so bad that people actually think the way they're told to think by these parties and their media mouthpieces. In other words, Big Brother is in control by convincing us that his ideas are really our own and that we support Big Brother.

First go after the MS media. Then the career politicians. It begins by making life difficult, for them to live. Any connected to them....are game.

YOU were the one who made the asinine assertion that this was a partisan issue - trying to blame it on Democrats - while demonstrating a hilarious ignorance of the fact that the AIC at the time was, in fact, a REPUBLICAN, skippy. The fact that you apparently have yet to catch on to your own massive screw-up, and have, in fact, doubled-down on said stupidity removes you and your opinions from any other further serious consideration on this topic.

    Here endeth the lesson... :roflol:

    1. Do not elect Hillary.

    2. Ensure that your Congressman will draw the purse-strings on national spending, introduce legislation to authorize war (and then vote them down) and impeach Administration officials the exceed the authority of their office.

    3. Ensure that the State Legislatures you vote for will call for an article five convention of the States to offer Constitutional Amendments that clearly describe the limits of Federal Power over the States.
