VIETNAM SPECIAL SHORT ANALYSIS - UPDATE 6 (FINAL UPDATE)
Five weeks ago, on Tuesday, 2021-07-027, I posted a short Vietnam analysis. I then updated the day after and each Tuesday thereafter. Here is the 6th such update, it will also be the final update (explanation below).

On 2021-07-027 I reported that Vietnam had 109,111 cases (that number jumped to 114,260 later in the evening) and was rank 99. A week later, Vietnam stood at 165,339 cases (which jumped to 170,190), rank 90. On 2021-08-010, Vietnam stood at 228,135, rank 82. On 2021-08-017 Vietnam stood at 293,301 cases (rank 73). On 2021-08-024, Vietnam stood at 369,267 cases (rank 67):

Now, as of yesterday, 2021-08-031, the following:

    2021-08-031 COVID-19 VIETNAM special 000.png

462,096 total C19 cases, currently rank 56. So, in three weeks, Vietnam has hopscotched from rank 99 to rank 56, an upward jump of 44 places in the rankings.

As you can see, I have already opened up an excel table for Vietnam, but it is not yet officially in the 50 nation rankings.

We can clearly see that if this pace continues, Vietnam will be in the top 50 within the next 2-3 weeks and then well on it's way to 1,000,000 by the end of October at the latest. The rolling 7-day averages for dates earlier than 2021-07-031 are nonsense, since you first need 7 complete days of tracking to have the first average, so ignore 2021-07-030, 029 and 028 in this regard.

To make this more exact, Vietnam's current 7-day rolling average = +13,261. Saudi Arabia's (currently rank 50) current 7-day rolling average = +249. Yes, you read that right: +249.

13,261 - 249 = 13,012. This means that each day, Vietnam is accruing (on the average) 13,012 more +cases than Saudi Arabia.

    Saudi Arabia's current total cases = 544,449

544,449 - 462,096 = Saudi Arabia is currently +82,353 cases ahead of Vietnam.

    82,353 / 13,012 = 6.3 days.

So, if current conditions hold, then in 7 days, on September 7th, 2021, Vietnam will slide past a number of nations -including Saudi Arabia- in the rankings, entering the 50-nation tracking, while Saudi Arabia will then exit the tracking.

    It's really very simple math.

However, if you look at the 7-day rolling average for Vietnam, you will see that it is continually rising, so Vietnam could concievably get there earlier, maybe even in 5 or 6 day.

Don't forget, 5 weeks ago, Vietnam just hit 100,000 cases and in the month of August alone, that small country advanced +316,410 cases. At this rate, Vietnam will be knocking on the door to 800,000 cases by the end of September and then will go over the million-mark in the middle of October, exactly as I have been projecting for a while now.

Therefore, this is the last mini-analysis for Vietnam. And there are other countries out there that, like Vietnam, could also surprise, something that you will read in the large worldwide analysis tomorrow.

THE USA DATA FOR AUGUST 2021 IS FINAL
THIS IS AN EXTRA, UNPLANNED ANALYSIS, MADE NECESSARY BY THE DELTA-VARIANT WAVE

    +186,422 daily cases / +1,942 daily deaths

+4,388,106 cases over the month before / +29,020 deaths over the month before
That is a considerable rise in +cases and +deaths over July 2021

    USA 7-day rolling averages:
+166,315 new C19 cases per day (one month ago: +80,050) / +1,453 deaths per day (one month ago: +372 )

    ---------------------------------------------------------
The number of serious/critical (ICU) cases in the USA: 25,686 (one month ago: 11,529 )
Total USA C19 tests: at month's end, the USA was just over 584,000,000 total C19 tests administered

I was planning to not report on the USA any more on a monthly basis, but then the Delta-Variant struck the USA, most notably in states where not enough people have been vaccinated. This will be a more concise analysis. There is no rubrik table for the USA anymore, it has served its purpose. If you don't ready anything else here, read the postitivity rates and see where the high rates are coming from.

I am not providing as many screenshots this time, but instead, where there are no screenshots, I will point to you the excel table that you can click on at my signature file.

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, Total cases, daily values:
    First, the WorldOMeter values:

And here is the look with my monthly compare excel table:

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, POSITIVITY RATE:
The positivity rate is something that WorldOMeter does not show, but it is very easy to calculate. Furthermore, Thi iss the rubrik that tells us which states are getting hit the hardest and is most informative about the progression of the Delta Variant wave in the USA

    See: excel table (signature file).

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, total deaths:
    See: excel table (signature file).

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, + monthly deaths and +daily death averages:

    2021-08-031 COVID-19 USA 008 - excel plus deaths.png

In conclusion: I'll keep it short. What is happening in the USA is a self-inflicted wound, because a swath of the population has been constantly lied to about vaccinations and will not get vaccinated. The unvaccinated are bringing the rest of the country into danger. And that in the richest land on earth, where there are more than enough vaccines to cover the entire adult population.

The month of August 2021 saw a huge outbreak of the Delta-Variant (and now, in the last days, Delta-+) in most all corners of the Earth, including Oceana. The USA is back to where it was in the spring of 2021 with huge +case numbers, but with less overall +deaths.

    Ye Olde Tracking Tree:

In February, I developed the tracking tree (based on the idea of an ancestral family tree design). Here is how the tracking tree looks right now:

The tracking tree is a good way to get a quick and reliable overview of the situation at hand without getting all down in the weeds with too much numerical minutae. It's also an excellent way to determine if your eyes are good or if perhaps a visit to and opthamologist of your choice would be a good thing to do.... :)

    The 4-Rubriks Worksheet:
here the last four days of August, 2021

The first three weeks can be found with each weekly concise analysis (7th, 14th and 21st of each month).

The top 50 nations (all in my current tracking) within the worldwide figures:

Here the screenshots of the excel tables for 50 top nations nations alongside the worldwide figures today can be found in the pre-analysis reports:

Also, an extra, unscheduled USA analysis:

The remaining 5 screenshots are at the overflow link at the top of the analysis.

Always searching to build a better and quicker mousetrap and knowing that the top 50 nations I am tracking on a daily basis account for at least 90% of the Covid-19 activity across the world, I've took the USA monthly excel table I've been using for a while and adapted it vis-a-vis worldwide stats for the top 50 nations being tracked, in 3 major rubriks (cases, deaths, tests) that can be sorted a number of ways and therefore eliminates the need for so many other WorldOMeter screenshots.

WORLDWIDE TOTAL C19 CASES, DEATHS and TESTS (top 50):
    2021-08-031 COVID-19 top 50 - total cases, total deaths 001.png
    2021-08-031 COVID-19 top 50 - total cases, total deaths 002.png

    2021-08-031 COVID-19 top 50 - total tests 001.png
    2021-08-031 COVID-19 top 50 - total tests 002.png

Here we can see that at the end of August 2021, the top 50 nations accounted for at least 92.00% of most everything.

Sorted three times in the same table can be good for your eyes. We can see that the top 5 in total cases is not necessarily the same top 5 in total deaths or total tests.

    WORLDWIDE TOTAL C19 +CASES, +DEATHS and +TESTS (top 50):

New in all of this is the calculated monthly average daily cases, deaths and tests, which can also be compared to the 7-day rolling average from the final 7 days of the month. And where you see the 7-day average, if a cell in that column is highlighted in a darker red, this means that the 7-day average was considerably higher than the monthly average and therefore a driver of the continuing surge. By contrast, if the color remains unchanged in the other cells in that row, this means that the 7-day rolling average was less than the monthly averaging, pointing to a tapering down in the statistic for that particular land.

Example: in the USA, the monthly (daily) +case average was +141,975, but the current 7-day rolling average to the end of the month was +165,315, considerably higher.

Here we can see that Iran moved to the top 1/3 of the statistics in most ways.

    WORLDWIDE TOTAL C19 +CASES +DEATHS GROWTH RATE (top 50):

When you look at the growth rates, interesting country names pop up at the top of the list compared to the months before, for instance, Morocco, Kazakhstan and Georgia.

THE TRACKED NATIONS UNDER THE 1,000,000-MARK, HOW CLOSE TO 1,000,000?

As of and including September 1st, 2021, there are/were 122 days left in the year 2021.

I created a new table in July for the nations that I am tracking under the 1,000,000 mark to see which of them, based on their current 7-day-rolling average, will cross over the 1,000,000-case milestone within these last 122 days. Vietnam, Guatemala, Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan, which are not being tracked yet but rather, pre-tracked, are also on the list, I am quite sure you will see why.

Rows 2-7 of this table are sort of a primer for us all, to get a good ballpark view of what a nation at each of those round C-19 case totals would have to suffer in order to go over 1,000,000 cases.

I've sorted it three ways for you. First, in descending order of total cases at current:

Second, by current 7-day rolling +case average (most enlightening):

Notice that Vietnam, which is not even in the official tracking yet, has by far the highest 7-day rolling +case average. Life comes at you fast!

Third, by the number of days (ascending order) until certain nations are likely to reach the 1,000,000 mark, which I have also translated into a calendar date for you:

The long and short of this is that the numbers, if they hold as they are now, point to 8-10 nations I am currently either tracking or pre-tracking that are going to cross the 1,000,000 case threshhold.

Can all of this change? You bet it can. After Morocco in the total cases (descending) is Hungary, but Hungary's current trajectory would mean reaching the million-mark by the NEXT US presidential election in 2024. But a wave could sweep over Hungary in the next months and change all of that, so just remember, these are purely mathematical projections based on what is happening "on the ground" right now.

    WORLDWIDE TOTAL STATISTICS BY CONTINENT:
All of the WorldOMeter screenshots of the continental data are at the overflow link at the top of the analysis. Here is the distillation of the top-line data for the continents:

And next we can see a statistical monthly compare, sorted in descending order by cases, deaths, recovereds, +cases, +deaths, +recovereds, and the growth rates as well:

Oops. Sorry, in the graphic above, I highlighted the wrong columns, but you get the drift.

Aaaand, next we can see a statistical monthly compare, sorted in descending order by growth rate:

We see a stark rise in Africa and Oceana.

Right now, as summer winds down, it's a race against time to get to herd immunity before the Fall "wave" has a chance of becoming a wave.

In the next couple of hours, our world will exceed 220,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases.

That is more than the entire population of Brazil or slightly less than the entire population of Pakistan.

Since Delta is out of control in my area, my county has a incidence figure of 308/100,000/7days, the Mt.Ute reservation will instate curfew again. Had to wright the letters for my employees today, so they can get through the check points.
I expect the Navajo Res to follow.
Vaccination rate in Montezuma County is just 43% fully vaccinated, 11% have had covid and Delta is on the loose.
    This will get interesting, again.

Oh by the way, the County Health Department quit publishing figures, to much work they say. They just send them to the State.

I hope you are well Bro.

    Stay thirsty my friend, Prost.

I would like to note that within my 50 nation tracking (+4 nations in pre-tracking = 54), there is a huge amount of leapfrogging going on as the development of the Delta, Delta+ and Mu surge is varying from geography to geography. Also, a number of nations have gone over the next million mark or will do so in the next days, for instance:

Iran surpassed Colombia in the rankings and also exceeded 5,000,000 total Covid-19 cases on 2021-09-001, 3 days ago. Iran will now enter the weekly concise analyses.

On the same day, the Phillippines went over the 2,000,000-mark.

Today, Germany is 100% sure to break the 4,000,000-barrier.

And Russia is equally guaranteed to sail over 7,000,000 Covid-19 cases tomorrow, 2021-09-005.

Iraq is not far from the 2,000,000 mark.

Some nations that were reporting well under +1,000 daily C19 cases one month ago have radically changed course and picked up the pace, among them: Canada (+691 at EOM July, +3,539 yesterday), Serbia (+284 at EOM July, +2,835 yesterday, a 10-fold increase), Austria (+445 at EOM July, +1,457 yesterday), Switzerland (+714 at EOM July, +2,579 yesterday) and Ukraine (+660 at EOM July, +1,981 yesterday).

But there are two other east European nations that are not yet showing a surge over +1,000 per day but a measurable increase, indeed: Poland (+125 at EOM July, +290 yesterday, still well under +1,000) and Hungary (+56 at EOM July, +190 yesterday, also well under +1,000).

I've watched this phenomenon now for more than 15 months: a nation approaching the million-barrier tends to slow the approach somewhat around the 800,000-line and then when that land is over 900,000, the tempo picks up again, sometimes radically. It's kind of eery how this happens.

There are also some nations that are not even remotely close to my radar screen that (some of them, suddenly) reported well over +1,000 fresh infections yesterday:

Benin (16,946), rank 148, +1,014 cases on 2021-09-003 (I would wager that most of us could not find Benin on the globe....)
    Australia (58,210), rank 118, +1,645 cases on 2021-09-003
    Mongolia (224,989), rank 85, +3,638 cases on 2021-09-003.
    S. Korea (257,110), rank 81, +1,709 cases on 2021-09-003
    Ethiopia (312,345), rank 74, +1,354 cases on 2021-09-003
    Libya (313,504), rank 73, +1,388 cases on 2021-09-003
    Palestinian Terroritories (350,225), rank 69, +2,494 cases on 2021-09-003
    Myanmar (409,509), rank 63, +3,410 cases on 2021-09-003

6 of those 8 nations are in Asia, 2 are in Africa. 6% of all of Benin's C19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic were reported on one single day, namely, yesterday.

Yesterday, Mongolia reported more +daily cases than 19 of the nations in my 50-nation tracking: Serbia, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Georgia, Greece, Ukraine, Netherlands, Belgium, Tunisia, Colombia, Portugal, Austria, Nepal, Lebanon, UAE, Peru, Jordan, Poland and Czechia.

With Delta, Delta+ and now, Mu, Covid-19 is reaching quite literally every corner of the world.

Vietnam has advanced 53 places from rank 102 in the total cases rankings (2021-07-025) to rank 49 as of yesterday (2021-09-008 ). On 2021-07-025, Vietnam had 98,465 C-19 cases and 493 deaths. It now has (as of today, 2021-09-009) 576,096 C-19 cases and 14,770 deaths. That's 6-fold case growth and 30-fold death growth in 6 weeks time.

With 21 days left to go in this month, Vietnam, at the current rate of +12,767 daily cases (7-day rolling average), should land just under 850,000 cases by EOM September and will sail over the million mark by mid-month October, 2021.

This will be one of the fastest "snowballing" of C-19 positive cases I have witnessed throughout all of the pandemic until now.

Russia took 8 months from February to the beginning of September 2020 to reach 1,000,000 cases.

For 19 months, Vietnam was not even close to the radar screen, not even a blip and now, in about 5 weeks, that nation is pretty certain to join the million club.

Two days ago, the USA sailed over 600 MILLION total C19 tests performed. That is just a wild statistic.

    The latest March to 1,000,000:

Today, Morocco will go over 900,000 C19 cases, on it's way to the million mark. That being said, Morroco's ascent has slowed down and I no longer think that that nation will cross over the million-mark around 09/25 as projected at EOM August, but rather, in the first half of October. Currently averaging +3,264 cases per day, this would put Morocco at just under 965,000 at month's end and over 1,000,000 by 10/15.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is not far behind, currently at 835,924 (already reported in for today, September 11th, 2021), is averaging +3,928 cases per day, putting that nation at 910,600 at the end of this month and over 1,000,000 shortly before the end of October.

Further, although Vietnam is currently at "only" 589,547, at this rate of +12,538 per day, then Vietnam will be at 840,000 at the end of this month and over 1,000,000 by the middle of October, so it is entirely likely that the nation not even at 600,000 cases may get there in front of Morocco.

Likewise, Cuba, currently at 729,133 but averaging +8,076 cases per day, should reach just shy of 890,000 by month's end and. So, we are not likely to see any more nations to go over the million mark in this month, but in October, 4 nations are likely to do this and probably in this order:

    36th - Cuba or Vietnam
    37th - Vietnam or Cuba
    38th - Morocco
    39th - Kazakhstan

I am pretty sure these are names of countries that no one was even remotely expecting to get close to 1,000,000 total C19 cases and yet, here we are.

    Life comes at you fast.

Today, little Austria just sailed over 80 MILLION total C19 tests performed. That is NINE times the population of that central European nation.

I can see no other nation anywhere on earth to have tested this many people relative to the land's total population.

To translate that to the USA, where the USA to have been testing at the same percentual rate as Austria, then by now, the USA would have performed 2,970,000,000 tests, or just shy of THREE BILLION tests.

And although it is percentually not as high, the UK is now at just over 282 MILLION total C19 tests performed, rank three in the entire world, behind the USA and Russia. However, in relation to that land's total population, that total case number is just 4.5 times the population of the UK, still very impressive, but not as impressive as Austria.

But testing is like having sex with a cut of condom, it does not prevent anything.
    Vaccinating
    Vaccinating
Put relentless pressure on the refuser. 2G, Geimpft=Vaccinated, Genesen=Recovered, VR and you are welcome in stores, restaurant, bars, clubs, grocery stores and so on. Needs a vaccination data base and recovery data base, so people can down load their status on their smart phone.
Let the refuser throw fits, demonstrate, pout or what ever and just tell them to go and f... themselfs.

Some interesting side data from the last days:

the world has now exceeded 200,000,000 officially recovered C19 cases. The only problem with this is that the bookeeping on this stat from country to country is so different and often very sloppy, this number actually has little meaning.

I have seen some days where 2 nations had either the exact same total C19 for one day or the same +cases on one day or the same +deaths on one day, but I have never before seen 7 groups of 2 nations apiece to show the identical +case numbers on the same day, respectively. Here, look:

    2021-09-012 COVID-19 Worldwide 005 - plus cases 001.png
    2021-09-012 COVID-19 Worldwide 005 - plus cases 002.png
    2021-09-012 COVID-19 Worldwide 005 - plus cases 003.png
    2021-09-012 COVID-19 Worldwide 005 - plus cases 004.png

So, that makes for both Morocco and Myanmar each with +1,953, both Tunisia and Greece each with +1,319, Panama and Uganda each with +214, Quatar and Timor-Leiste with +133, Fiji and Brunei each with +128, Kuwait and Malta each with +50 and Malawi and Djoubuti each with +15.

Now, with very small nations with only +two-digit cases, the probability of one or two doublings per day is not bad, that would be 3 of these 7 pairs listed above. But 2 of the 7 pairs were in +triple-digits and the other 2 of the 7 pairs were in +quadruple-digits, and there, the probability of something like this happening shrinks with every added +digit.

Now, this does not mean that we are shifting into a parellel universe or the Mayan calendar was right or any of that malarky, but it is simply interesting to note these very highly unlikely flukes when they happen.

Also, take a look at Tunisia again. See the discrepancy? Take a look under "active cases". For this date, Tunisia show -793 active cases. That is mathematically impossible. This MUST be a positive number, because the number of deaths, recovered and still active must add up to the grand total. Now, both WorlOMeter and my table uses the subtraction element in order to get to the actives: Total cases - total deaths - total recovereds = actives.

Apparently, yesterday was not an anomaly, for it has already happened today as well:

    2021-09-012 COVID-19 Tunisia 000 - statistical error.png

The growth in total cases and total deaths looks to be very much in proportion to where it has been for a good while. But there has been a sharp rise in the percentage of recovered cases, from +92.5% at EOM August 2021 to 97.2% as of today. That's a pretty heavy jump. Perhaps it is a clerical error that will sort itself out in the next days, but again, this number (total active cases) should NEVER be negative. That's impossible as we are counting actual physical human bodies. Weird, very weird.

Once again, the nerdy part of me take the lead here! :)

SERBIA - PRACTICALLY OUT OF NOWHERE

A country that was reporting minimal Covid-19 figures for a long time has suddenly caught flames in a big way:

    2021-09-012 COVID-19 COLOMBIA 000 - major jump in plus cases.png

In one month's time, from 2021-08-013 to 2021-09-013, Serbia's 7-day rollling avg in +cases has gone from +794 to +5,619. This puts Serbia in the same playing league as Morocco, Kazakhstan, Vietnam and Cuba at present and indicates very strongly that if current trends hold, not just four nations, but rather, FIVE, will cross the 1,000,000-Covid-19-Case Rubicon in October on 2021, bringing us to a total of 40 nations in the million-club.

Here is a very perverse (and obviously, very false) statistic:

as of today, Friday, 2021-09-017, the US state of Alaska (pop: just under 732,000), with currently 96,002 total COVID-19 cases, has more cases *officially* than the entire People's Republic of China (pop. 1,440,000,000, or 1.44 BILLION), now currently at 95,577 96,002 total COVID-19 cases.

    Yeah, riiiiiiiiiight...

Also, of the 50 states plus DC (51), Alaska is rank 46 in total C19 cases and is next in line to cross over the 100,000 mark.

Ok, my eyes are seeing a verifiable slowdown in daily +cases in order to think that this is not an outlier.

Only, the slowing brings us from DEFCON 1 the world is going to blow up today to DEFCON 2 the world may blow up in 2 days.

Ok, that's a wild exaggeration, but I think y'all get the point.

For instance, Morocco, currently next in line to jump into the million-club, is now averaging +2,205 cases per day. At the end of last month, 19 days ago, it was +5,404. Morocco, now with 918,126 cases as of 2021-09-018, is now 81,874 cases away from the million-line and there are 123 days left in this year, which means that at this pace, Morocco gets there at the end of October instead of the end of September.

Of the 53 nations I am tracking or pre-tracking this kind slowdown to one degree or another can be spotted in 37 of them.

4 nations are showing almost exactly the same daily +case average as at the end of last month: Germany, Israel, Belgium and Sweden.

12 nations are showing a rise in the +case average since EOM August 2021, and I will list this Geographically:

Eastern/Central Europe: Serbia, Czechia, Poland, Ukraine, (Russia), Hungary, Romania, Austria

    Asia: (Russia), Phillippines

    Middle East: Turkey, Jordan

    North America: Canada

As you can see, the bulk of this is happening in Eastern and Central Europe, where cases were extremely low for a long time when compared to the rest of the world and now they are shooting up. You will also notice that I have Russia in parenthesis for both Eastern Europe and Asia as that nation actually straddles two continents and most ot the case action is happening in Moscow and St. Petersburg, which are more in Eastern Europe.

Yesterday, Serbia surpassed Kazakhstan in the rankings. Serbia was averaging +2,367 cases at EOM August 2021, it is now averaging +6,932 cases as of 2021-09-018, more than a 3-fold growth in 19 days. Serbia now stands at 860,431, again, as of 2021-09-018 and there are 123 days left in the year, which means that with 139,569 cases to go to break the million-barrier, if Serbia keeps this pace, then it gets there in 21 days, on or around October 10th. So, out of the clear blue sky, Serbia will likely be the 36th nation to join the million club, ahead of Vietnam (which has only slightly slowed it's ascent), Cuba, Morocco, Kazakhstan and Switzerland.

All in all, this may mean that in most quarters of the world, the Delta wave is ending. The bad news is that last year, promptly at the beginning of October, 2020, the huge Fall wave began. We can only hope that that does not repeat itself in this year.

This morning (my time), our world crossed over 4.7 million Covid-19 deaths.

That is almost exactly the population of all of Capetown, South Africa. For North American standards, that is pretty much the half-way point between the population of Los Angeles, California, USA and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

    @Derideo_Te

Also, the USA, which crossed over 400,000 total Covid-19 deaths on the eve of Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20th, 2021, will cross over 700,000 deaths later this coming week, which means that 400,000 of those deaths happened during the Trump administration and the other 300,000 (to-date) during the Biden administration.

Also, Brazil is now just 10,000 shy of 600,000 covid-19 deaths, will get there shortly after the beginning of October, 2021.

Also, Russia is on the cusp of 200,000 total Covid-19 deaths, will get there in the next few days, likely before Wednesday. Currently, Russia is at 198,218 deaths and averaging +781 deaths per day. The vast majority of these deaths are happening in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
