JAPAN EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2021-08-007, 32nd NATION TO DO SO

Exactly as predicted would happen here, On 2021-08-007, Japan jumped over the 1,000,000 mark in total C19 cases:

    2021-08-007 COVID-19 Japan goes over 1,000,000 cases - close up.png

    2021-08-007 COVID-19 Japan goes over 1,000,000 cases - WorldOMeter table.png

You can see the major growth in C19 cases in Japan here at the excel table:

    2021-08-007 COVID-19 Japan goes over 1,000,000 cases -000 (excel table).png

In the close-up and the excel-table , I have marked Japan with "EOD" (end of day) already because that country provides stats only one per day and so, even though it is only morning in the UTC +0 time zone, this statistic is already valid for EOD.

Portugal is up next to cross over the 1,000,000-mark, definitely within this month. Thailand is also moving very swiftly up the ranks and it looks very much as if that land will join the Million-club before the end of August, 2021 as well. We will likely have a total of 34 nations with over 1,000,000 total confirmed Covid-19 cases

At year's end 2020, there were 18 nations over the 1,000,000 mark which means that as of now, 14 more nations have joined that rubrik. At the beginning of the year, I indicated that between 40-50 nations total would probably be over the million-mark by EOY 2021 and it looks very much as if it will be at least 40, if not more, when all is said and done. What a sad development.

We may feel like we are done with Covid-19, but Covid-19 is quite apparently not done with us. Not by a longshot.

    It's Monday, August 9th 2021.

Portugal is now 12,000 away from 1,000,000 Covid-19 cases. At the current 7-day rolling average of +2,276 cases per day, then in 5.3 (6) days, on Sunday, 2021-08-015, Portugal wlll be the 33rd nation on Earth to join the million club.

Though 3 ranks farther down, Thailand will be next. Thailand is currently 224,000 away from 1,000,000 but is averaging +20,403 cases per day, which means that at this rate, Thailand should be the 34th nation to cross over the million line and it will likely happen on 2021-08-020.

Israel just broke over 900,000 cases yesterday, it is 99,500 away from the million-mark. At it's current rate of +3,576 cases per day (one month ago, it was averaging +450 per day and 2 months ago, just +10 per day, to note), Israel will be the 35th nation to go over the 1,000,000-line in 29 days from yesterday, likely on 2021-09-006.

On down the line, keep your eyes on Morocco, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Cuba and to a lesser extent, Nepal and Jordan. They are likely to be the 36th-41st nations to join the million club at some time in the Fall.

VIETNAM SPECIAL SHORT ANALYSIS - UPDATE 3
Exactly two weeks ago, on Tuesday, 2021-07-027, I posted a Vietnam update. I then updated the day after and one week ago. Here is the 3rd such update. On 2021-07-027 Vietnam had 109,111 cases and was rank 99. A week later, Vietnam stood at 165,339 cases, rank 90. Today, 2021-08-010, the following:

    2021-08-010 COVID-19 Vietnam update 003.png

    224,894 cases, rank 82.

224,894 - 165,339 = +59,555 cases in one week and rank movement of 8 places (it was +56,228 the week before).

    59,555 / 7 = +8,507.85 cases per day, 7-day average. As of today, there are exactly 143 days left in this year. 8,507.85 * 143 = 1,216,623 + 224,894 = 1,441,547 Covid-19 cases in Vietnam by year's end if it maintains this course.

Vietnam is moving up the rankings very quickly, as is Cuba and a couple of others. If this trend does not abate, then it is only a matter of time before Vietnam will enter my 50-country daily tracking.

    -Stat

PS. Update in one week from now.

DELTA & DELTA+ SURGE IN ALL OF NORTH AMERICA

I would like to point out that in just the first ten days of August, 2021, not only the USA has seen a sizeable, statistically significant rise in the 7-day rolling +case average, but rather, all of North America.

Here is a chart from EOM July 2021 that shows the 7-day rolling for the top fifty nations:

The 7 day rolling averages ("now" = 2021-08-010):

USA EOM July: +80,050 / USA now: +120,457
Mexico EOM July: +14,754 / Mexico now: +16,782
Cuba EOM July: +8,640 / Cuba now: +8,836
Canada EOM July: +691 / Canada now: +1,379

Not only the USA has a problem with the Delta and Delta+ variants. ALL of the North American continent is surging.

On Wednesday, 2021-08-011, Cuba surpassed rank 50 Bolivia in total Covid-19 cases and is on a trajectory to easily reach 1,000,000 cases by some time in October of this year. Therefore, Cuba has entered the 50-nation tracking and Bolivia has been removed from said tracking.

Also, the former Soviet Sattellite State and Asian nation of Geogia is fast moving up the ranks and will likely replace Ecuador in the rankings within the next two weeks.

I've already started an excel table for Georgia and also for Vietnam.

What is wrong with these charts?

    FL_Daily_New_Casess_08142021.PNG

FL is still setting the records for NEW daily cases MORE than any other state in the nation.

    FL_Daily_Deaths_08142021.PNG

That "decline" in deaths in FL is an ABERRATION as far as ALL of the data that we have seen to date.

I checked the Top 10 states and ONLY Florida is showing a DECLINE in daily new deaths while daily new cases are on the rise.

Deaths have ALWAYS been a LAGGING indicator in every single surge/wave.

So the data from FL cannot be trusted.

That's only about three-times as deadly as the flu, (0.3% cf 0.1%) probably the result of increasing vaccination numbers.
Covid still has a >1.0% death rate in many countries, I think.

    33, 34 & 35 are on the way

Portugal reached 998,547 Covid-19 cases yesterday, 2021-08-013, 1,453 away from the million-mark. Portugal will cross over that mark today, 2021-08-014 and in doing so, will be the 33rd nation on Earth to cross over 1,000,000 cases.

Next will be Thailand, currently at 885,275 (it already reported in for today, 2021-08-014), -114,725 away from the 1,000,000 hurdle. Thailand, which I just started tracking on 2021-06-023, less than two months ago, started at 228,539 cases and was averaging around +4,000 cases per day when I started the tracking. As of today, Thailand is averaging +21,250 cases per day which means that at this rate, in 5.4 days (6 days), on Friday, 2021-08-020, Thailand will have long surpassed Israel and will be the 34th nation to jump over the 1,000,000-hurdle.

At the end of month for July, using a new table and using the 7-day rollling averages from then, Portugal was set to cross over on 2021-08-012, two days ago, so it's average slowed down slightly. But Thailand was statistically set to go over on 2021-08-025, so it looks very much as if Thailand will get there 5 days earlier, proof-positive that it's 7-day rolling average has increased.

Israel ended the day yesterday at 929,274 cases, 70,726 cases away from the million-club. At the current average of +5,167 per day (considerably higher than the +2,089 at EOM July, 2021), then Israel will end up also crossing over the Covid-River before the end of this month, around 2021-08-028 (the statistics from last month predicted a crossing for Israel on 2021-09-029, one month later) and in doing so, will be the 35th nation to reach 1,000,000 total Covid-19 cases.

On down the line in my tracking are other nations that are moving fast and furious up the line, with Morocco, Cuba, Georgia and Kazakhstan leading among them.

PORTUGAL EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2021-08-014, 33rd NATION TO DO SO

As predicted would happen here, On 2021-08-014, Portugal jumped over the 1,000,000 mark in total C19 cases:

In the close-up and the excel-table , I have marked Portugal with "EOD" (end of day) already because that country provides stats only one per day and so, even though it is only afternoon in the UTC +0 time zone, this statistic is already valid for EOD.

The other two nations due to cross over the 1,000,000 mark very soon, Thailand and Israel, are also referred to in the link at the top of this posting.

At year's end 2020, there were 18 nations over the 1,000,000 mark which means that 15 more nations have joined that rubrik during the year 2021. At the beginning of the year, I indicated that between 40-50 nations total would probably be over the million-mark by EOY 2021 and it looks very much as if it will be at least 40, if not more, when all is said and done. Today, 2021-08-017, Thailand has clocked in at 948,442 Covid-19 cases, just behind Israel (currently at 951,226) Tomorrow, Thailand, averaging circa +21,000 cases per day, will sail way past Israel and this coming Friday, 2021-08-020, will easily sail over the million-mark. Thailand will be the 34th nation on earth to do this.

    IRAN SPECIAL CONCISE ANALYSIS

Today, 2021-08-017, for the first time in it's Covid-19 history, Iran recorded slightly more than +50,000 cases in one single day and is on track to be the 13th nation in the world to exceed 100,000 total Covid-19 deaths, most likely on Thursday, but it may happen tomorrow. Most disturbing is the huge upward rise in the 7-day average in both +cases and +deaths:

    2021-08-017 COVID-19 IRAN 000 - special.png

Today, the 7-day rolling average in +cases in Iran is pushing the +40,000 envelope. One month ago, on 2021-07-017, it was a little less than half as much. However, the 7-day rolling average in deaths has increased more than 3-fold in one month, from +162 per day on 2021-07-017 to +571 as of right now.

If you check out the WIKI for the panemic in Iran and look at the color coded provincial map, you will see that there have been at least 10,000 cases in most every province. Surely a huge amount of this is coming from Teheran, Ispahan and Natanz, but apparently, the Delta Variant is also all over the countryside as well.

In terms of total cases (4.52 million), Iran has recently leapfrogged in front of both Germany and Italy in total cases and is currently at rank 11, directly behind Colombia and Spain. All three of these nations are heading toward the 5-million mark, which means they will at some point in time enter the weekly concise analyses. If Iran holds this current rate of daily infections, then it will likely leapfrog over both Spain and Colombia and get to the 5-million mark in just 13 days, on or around August 30th, 2021. At 4.87 million cases, Colombia is far closer to the 5-million mark but it is only averaging just shy of +4,000 cases per day and will get to the 5-million hurdle in 33 days. Similar story in Italy, currently at 4.44 million but "only" averaging +6,250 cases per day an in Italy's case, it will reach 5,000,000 in 88 days.

Yes, life comes at us fast.

Iran has a terrible government and is still a nasty rogue state, a pariah on the world stage. But that does not change the fact that human beings are suffering there in massive numbers. My heart goes out to them as well.

Vietnam is now releasing it's statistics later than earlier so there will be an update for that land for this day, but it will come out tomorrow instead of today, I suspect.

Also, although Vietnam is not yet in the 50-nation tracking, I've already started an excel table for that country and filled in data back to 2021-07-024.

This means that tomorrow, you will get an accurate view of the progress of Covid-19 in that country. Things are not looking good there at all.

VIETNAM SPECIAL SHORT ANALYSIS - UPDATE 4
Three weeks ago, on Tuesday, 2021-07-027, I posted a Vietnam update. I then updated the day after and one week ago. Here is the 4th such update. On 2021-07-027 I reported that Vietnam had 109,111 cases (that number jumped to 114,260 later in the evening) and was rank 99. A week later, Vietnam stood at 165,339 cases (which jumped to 170,190), rank 90. On 2021-08-010, Vietnam stood at 228,135, rank 82. The number did not jump as I then realized that Vietnam reports it's numbers at least twice per day and it's just best to wait until the next day to get the final, set-in-stone numbers. Therefore, as of yesterday, 2021-08-017, the following:

    2021-08-017 COVID-19 VIETNAM 000 - SPECIAL.png

293,301 total C19 cases, currently rank 73. So, in three weeks, Vietnam has hopscotched from rank 99 to rank 73, an upward jump of 26 places in the rankings.

As you can see, I have already opened up an excel table for Vietnam, but it is not yet officially in the 50 nation rankings.

There are 13 days left in this month. If the current 7-day rolling average of +9,309 cases per day holds, then 9,309 * 13 = 127,017 more cases by month's end = 414,318 total cases at month's end, which means that this small country will have travelled almost +270,000 new cases in the month of August alone.

I fleshed in the excel table with data back to 2021-07-024 so that we all can easily see the calculated 7-day rolling averages from EOM July (2021-07-031) thereout. As you can see, at EOM July 2021, Vietnam was averaging +7,822 daily cases and +134 daily deaths. Now, 17 days later, Vietnam is at +9,309 daily cases and +322 deaths, so there is absolutely no sign that the wave is abating in Vietnam at all. If anything, the wave is still building.

So, let's assume that Vietnam "only" hits 400,000 cases at the end of this month, which means that in +600,000 cases, Vietnam will join the million-club. Even if Vietnam's pace slows to "only" +200,000 per month, then it gets there at the end of November, 2021. If it holds at circa +270,000, then it gets there in the first week of November at the very latest. And there is the distinct possibility that Vietnam goes the way of Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand (all countries geographically very close to Vietnam) and suddenly explodes to over +20,000 cases per day, in which case Vietnam could already get there by the beginning of October.

One last point: look at the total tests performed (Column Q): Vietnam stayed firmly at 11,890,094 total tests performed for three weeks in this table and then jumped to 13,629,949 total tests. I suspect that in about 3 weeks time, they will have another very large jump in total tests, which will also result in a rise in positive cases.

All of these things that are happening in Asia, where there has been a veritable explosion in +cases and in +deaths due to the new Delta and Delta+ variants only serves to support the claim that China is brazenly lying about it's Covid-19 statistics. There is no way in hell that a country of 1.4 BILLION people can be reporting maybe +80 or +100 cases per day while a miniscule land (proportionally) like Vietnam is seeing this surge. It would not surprise me at all if China has already had at least 100,000,000 postitive test results all on it's own and has put a damper on the facts. Dictatorships and pandemics don't mix.

THAILAND IS ON THE CUSP OF THE 1,000,000-MARK, WILL BE 34TH NATION TO GO OVER
In other news, as predicted yesterday, Thailand has now leapfrogged over Israel and currently stands at:

    2021-08-018 COVID-19 THAILAND 000 - SPECIAL.png

Thailand reports its statistics only once per day, so the numbers, although they come in very early in the day (our time) represent EOD, marked as such in the excel table.

Thailand now stands at 968,957 cases, -31,043 cases away from the million-barrier. At the current 7-day rolling average of 21,710 cases per day, then Thailand will likely hit 990,000 cases tomorrow (2021-08-019) and will then easily sail over the million-mark on Friday (2021-08-020); as you can see, I have already highlighted that date in light blue in the table. Thailand will probably land between 1,010,000 and 1,011,000 cases on that day.

If you look back one month from today, to 2021-07-018, on that day, Thailand was not even yet in the 50 nation tracking at that time and clocked in at 403,386 cases, which means that Thailand has travelled +565,000 cases in just that time. This is what a major surge in a relatively small country (70,000,000 residents) looks like.

Please also note that Thailand's number of total tests performed has not budged, is still at 8,129,670. Surely, when Thailand releases it's next total tests update, it will reflect a major jump.

On Friday, 2021-08-020, Thailand will definitely be the 34th nation on our planet to exceed 1,000,000 total Covid-19 cases.

Today, 2021-08-019, Thailand reported 989,859 total C19 cases, a hair's breadth from the 990,000 I predicted. There is a 100% probability that Thailand will sail over the 1,000,000-mark tomorrow, 2021-08-020 and will very likely land between 1,010,000-1,011,000 total cases, making the Thailand the 34th nation to cross over this marker.

Yesterday, 2021-08-018, our world exceeded 210 MILLION total confirmed C19 cases (210,064,652, to be exact), precisely 15 days after crossing over the historic 200 MILLION mark. Our world is currently averaging +656,750 cases per day. There are now exactly 135 days left in this year. 656,750 * 135 = +88,661,250 cases by EOD on December 31st, 2021. If we maintain this current pace, then we land at 298,725,902 cases, so 300 MILLION or more by year's end is looking more and more likely.

Also, the USA exceeded 38,000,000 total C19 cases yesterday (38,072,656), exactly 7 days after cracking the 37,000,000 mark. The total cases in the USA represent 18.12% of all of the world's C19 cases. This is certainly an improvement over 2020, where for a while the USA represented between 25-30% of all such cases. Unfortunately, now for the third day in a row, the USA suffered more than +1,000 daily deaths and is now averaging +144,600 cases and +875 deaths per day. Surely this daily death average will soon once again be over +1,000. It is heartbreaking to see my homeland get hammered so hard by the Delta Variants after weeks of being well under +10,000 cases per day. In July, I stopped screenshotting the USA every day and eliminated the rubrik worktable, but it may be necessary to bring those things back in the last four months of this year. According to independent from-each-other reports, upwards of 98% of all new cases and 99% of all new deaths are among the unvaccinated but scarier still is that a large number of teenagers have now contracted C19.

In Alabama, 20,000 college students have been sent into quarantine, 6,000 of them test postive for the Delta Variant(s).

And elsewhere in the world, in nations where the numbers have been extremely low for a long time, there has been a noticeable uptick in +cases in: Switzerland, Austria, Germany (sigh) and Ukraine.

If a fall wave hits upon the Delta wave already in progress, then our world may be approaching 1.3 to 1.5 MILLION +cases PER DAY.

On Thursday, 2021-08-019, Iran exceeded 100,000 total Covid-19 deaths, the 13th nation on earth to do so.
Uzbekistan crossed over 1,000 total C19 deaths on the same day, the 114th nation to do so.

And India joined the USA in the half-billion club in total C19 tests performed, making it the 2nd nation on Earth to do so. Between the two of them, more than ONE BILLION total C19 tests have been performed.

THAILAND EXCEEDED 1,000,000 TOTAL COVID-19 CASES ON 2021-08-020, 34th NATION TO DO SO

As predicted would happen here, on Friday, 2021-08-020, Thailand jumped over the 1,000,000 mark in total C19 cases:

    2021-08-020 COVID-19 THAILAND 000 - Thailand goes over 1,000,000 C19 cases - closeup.png

    2021-08-020 COVID-19 THAILAND 000 - Thailand goes over 1,000,000 C19 cases - WorldOMeter table.png

    Here the excel table:

    2021-08-020 COVID-19 THAILAND 000 - Thailand goes over 1,000,000 C19 cases.png

You can see from the excel table that Thailand travelled almost +600,000 cases in the last month's time, from 2021-07-020 to 2021-08-020.

In the close-up and the excel-table , I have marked Thailand with "EOD" (end of day) already because that country provides stats only one per day and so, even though it is only morning in the UTC +0 time zone, this statistic is already valid for EOD.

The next nation to jump over the 1,000,000 hurdle, Israel, is currently at 970,606 C19 cases and averaging +6,549 cases per day, which means that most likely in 5 days from and including today, on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, Israel will then become the 35th nation to climb over the 1,000,000-mark. When that happens, this means that four nations will have joined the 1,000,000 club in the month of August, 2021: Japan, Portugal, Thailand and Israel.

At year's end 2020, there were 18 nations over the 1,000,000 mark which means that 16 more nations have joined that rubrik during the year 2021.

Dangerous new COVID strain found in Israel

Health Min. reports 10 cases in Israel of AY3 COVID strain, a more virulent offshoot of the contagious Delta variant.

The Health Ministry reported today (Thursday) that the first ten cases of the AY3 coronavirus strain based on the Delta strain had been found in Israel. The AY3 strain is based on the Delta variant, from which a number of further mutations have been found, including several considered more "virulent." Of those infected, eight had returned from abroad and two were infected inside Israel.

This week, a representative of the Health Ministry in the Knesset said of the strain that it "causes concern and will lead us to lockdown" and expressed concern about the possibility of it being discovered in Israel, since it is a variant with a high infection rate that can develop a resistance to the coronavirus vaccines.

It should be noted that of the top 8 nations, all over 5,000,000 total C-19 cases, 5 of them saw a weekly reduction in +cases, whereas only 3 of them saw a weekly increase in the same. Those 3 alone are not enough to power the entire weekly worldwide surge, which means that many smaller nations farther on down the C19 rankings are experiencing (percentually) more of a surge, for instance, Iran, Thailand, Morocco, Cuba and Kazakstan, for instance.
