A couple of obvious questions come to mind.

First, are Target’s changing rooms gender-segregated in the first place? Wasn’t the recent controversy surrounding Target policies specifically about bathrooms?

Second, are the people making such a big fuss over this incident specifically because the suspect is transgender saying that it would be less serious (or not a problem at all!) if the suspect had been genetically female or the victim had been male? This kind of thing isn’t unknown in store changing rooms in general, it just doesn’t normally make the news.

 

Exactly. Thats why I encourage women to look nice and smile for the cameras in target. That way all the guys downloading their videos will be pleased and share the video with other sites around the world.

Fair enough to disagree. I would toss out there however that this is ALOT of expense for existing structures. Do you really think it's a legitimate request for people to have to go to such trouble to appease an imagination?

If we do it for this group, would you say we should also appease a multiple personality and allow them to have multiple drivers licenses? I'm stumped on how we pick and choose which mental delusions are valid with the 14th Amendment in mind. Shouldnt ALL delusions be treated in the same fashion since we're doing it here?

In other words, put several good companies out of business trying to prevent a problem that wouldn't be a problem if a few politicians weren't obsessed with getting votes from certain lobbyists.
Why not make everyone get a hall pass every time they leave home, then any time someone complains about anything there will be a hall pass violation in effect.

I am really sorry for that, PA.

I just don't think that it is such the drama some people make it to be. It would be a comedic scene in a light-hearted movie. I don't see why people shred their shirts and fight about such trifle things, and that's what I tried to communicate in my post.

But that being said, if that's your desire to do so... I will fight so you, or any other poster, can do it in all freedom.

 

Target has always had unisex fitting rooms... i.e. this incident could've/would've occurred regardless of any transgender accommodations the store made.

 

To trivialize the victims violation is a pretty (*)(*)(*)(*) position to hold in life. You wear it well.

 

I notice the fitting rooms use a generic symbol on that plan, the coathanger...while the bathrooms, instead of a similar symbol (like a toilet), show the Male and Female symbol which seem to indicate the presence of something for each.

Is this an older floorplan before they said they'd allow anyone to use what they want? Or has this simply not been updated?


Point being, they may have always had unisex fitting rooms..but they didnt always have unisex bathrooms. This was a recent change to accomodate fantasy.

And on this matter, here is one we havent seen make as much of a splash as their original announcement in the media. I didnt even realize it until I stumbled on this myself. Seems the boycott was effective....or the story is false.

I hope the story is true, and sanity prevailed. Stores like this really shouldn't be in the business of selling political causes, just sell your goods. Selling the wrong politics can hurt your bottom line.

One last observation on their new statement....who couldn't have understood the possible risks what this kind of decision was going to lead to? Many on this board saw it immediately. I dont really believe that the 6 figure or more people on Targets decision making team didnt see it. I think they took a gamble, and maybe believed due to all the noise the LGBT segment generates that maybe they were bigger than they were..and sided with them.

And then found out they arent as big as their bark, or dont have the buying power in their stores as they had hoped, and are now reversing course.

LGBT should have pounded their dollars into Target to show their support, obviously it wasnt enough.

 

So once more if some bull dyke misbehaved in a target fitting room that would proved that all lesbians should not be allowed to used the same fitting rooms or bathrooms as straight women?

We are already going after the bull dykes it would seems.

Rich... who cares. This incident that churned a conversation in this thread involves fitting rooms. Fitting rooms that have always been unisex, and before anyone thought to look into the fitting room dynamic, many of you (including you) pounced on the chance to announce your political high ground while shredding those that were fine with Target's accommodation. This thread isn't about bathrooms; it's a classic peeping tom case that has zero to do with their transgender flexibility.

 

Yeah and kids who are tripping on their own feet (THOUSANDS! EVERY DAY!!!) also deserve their memorial, dude. I mean stop the holocaust, right here right now.

You're correct on this Venom, I misread the title and thought it said bathrooms. Perhaps due to the ongoing Target bathroom story I mistook what i read. My mistake, you are right with your comments on the Changing room.

Anyway, my misread wasnt a total loss... it was a big development on the bathroom policy change back, that didnt seem to get as huge a splash dont you think?

Oh and every woman who does not look like someone out of a 1940s movie is going to need to bring proof that they are indeed female or be willing to get naked for the police or even the store employees?
