illegals aren't flooding our country. Illegal immigration is at a 20 year low. Most illegals do not cross the border illegally, but enter legally and overstay their visa.

If they're in financial trouble, that is on them. They get paid just like everyone else. Their money has the same value as everyone else. How they chose to spend their money is up to them. And as such, the consequences of that spending is on them and them alone. If deflected to other areas, then we need the funding to put into place something that stops them. How hard can it be? The problem has been the lack of funding, sufficient funding over the years. Is congress so inept as to be unable to stop something like people crossing our border illegally? The reason we have not secured that border is because congress nor past presidents have actually wanted to do it.

Once you get the border secured, or at the same time we are working to do that, go after the carrots that bring these people here. Like welfare and employers.

If a powerful and rich nation like the US cannot control its own borders it is because of the lack of will in DC, and irresponsible voters who are living in some alternate reality.

The lesson you should have gleaned from 2016 is that polls are accurate, but predicting the future based on polling data is still an educated guess. Trump outperformed his polling by an average of 1% and that is well within the margin of error.

Trump was not supposed to win. According to the polls. So they were useless, and that is what I take from them.

I guess if you really wanted to evaluate public opinion, accurately, it would have to be done like the census, where all people are asked. But that would not serve politics well, even if you would get a much more accurate stat on who wants a wall and who does not. Or who is ok with millions of illegals coming in, in the future. Not like DC is gonna do what the People want, according to the Princeton Study, It seems that DC has done what the democrats want, and refuse to stop illegal immigration, as well as what the GOP wants, which is the same thing.
