    Seeing as the technicalities of any tapping would need to be done in the telephone system's central hub, how the (*)(*)(*)(*) could anyone without the necessary access to it, plus the technical know-how, possibly be able to produce the evidence for anything. :wall:

    If you really are 'an old guy' you should be wise enough to realise that for yourself.

    I must have missed where Trump says Obama was personally responsible. I thought he said the Obama administration and since Comey was appointed by Obama, that makes him part of the administration. Are you saying this is a lie?

    Well, if your premise is correct, what "evidence" did Trump use to claim he was wiretapped in the first place? Does he know about any warrants or directives or people involved? Or is he just making stuff up again, as he has done for years.

    Just curious, what do you mean by your explanation "telephone systems central hub" - are you an expert on wiretapping? Yes, I am an old guy and I know morons and con artists when I see them and hear them........

    Trump could find out he was being bugged if details of certain matters, which had been discussed in confidentiality, found their way back to him?

    The only familiarity I have of telephone exchanges was acquired when I worked for Cable & Wireless, and we had a guided tour of some of them during our training period. That was some years ago, and they were mind-bogglingly sophisticated back in those days; I can only imagine how much more technically sophisticated they are these days.

    If in fact Trump Tower was wiretapped during the 2016 presidential campaign, as President Trump claimed in several tweets Saturday morning, he can do much more than say so on twitter: Presidents have the power to declassify anything at any time, so Trump could immediately make public any government records of such surveillance.

    How naive you are. He'd need to have the proof to hand before he could declassify it, and as I've just said in another post, there is no way he could acquire that evidence - not that the Dems need to acquire any evidence for their own outlandish claims. :mrgreen:

    Obama doesn't have the power to order a wiretap. Trump woke up Saturday morning and jumped into a box, where there is no way out for him after this dangerously foolish accusation. Looks like Russia is catching up to him now, and he's desperate to make a scandal elsewhere.
