Trump did say that Russians hacked the DNC server and refused to say the Russian government but then blamed the victims instead of the perpetrators. That is like blaming a victim's house being burgled because they left the window open and saying the thieves did nothing wrong. Why is Trump so soft on criminals?

 

With the Trump cult in such a frenzy as their messiah's pathetic betrayal is being condemned by Republicans and Democrats alike, his gross narcissism may be his best defense.

The same insecurity that makes him cling to his electoral college victory over a year-and-a-half after 2.8 million more Americans voted for his seriously-flawed opponent compels him to deny the reality that a foreign power hostile to US interests conspired to place him in the White House.

It's not that Trump is being treasonous as some Republicans have claimed. He's just putting himself before the United States in accordance with his habitual prioritization.

 

Trump isn't putting Putin above our Intel Agencies. Trump was smart enough to tell people Putin wont admit to Russian Meddling. Never will. But he will ask Putin about it anyways.

Despite Botched Summit with Putin, Trump’s Policies Are Still Pressuring Russia


On Monday, President Donald Trump managed to make a bad situation much, much worse. In a press conference held after his summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump strongly implied he agreed with Putin’s assessment that the Russians did not meddle in the 2016 U.S. elections, even though U.S. intelligence has concluded that they did. Despite Trump’s spectacular bungling of this diplomatic moment with Putin, the Trump administration is still pushing back hard against Moscow.

The optics going into the summit were already terrible. The U.S. foreign policy establishment, along with national security junkies and armchair quarterbacks, had been waiting with bated breath to see what would happen today when the two men met behind closed doors. The meeting was announced a couple of weeks ago to the surprise and feigned horror of many. For some, Trump’s decision to meet with Putin was further evidence of collusion between the two countries.

The response to Trump’s comments has bordered on hysterical, and for good reason. Trump made both himself and the United States look utterly foolish in front of the steely eyed Putin, who no doubt is reveling in his ability to play both the president and the U.S. media. The ensuing chaos is music to his ears.

But there’s a far simpler explanation: Trump was more concerned with sticking it to his domestic opponents than being tough with Putin. He’s trolling the Left in America — but he’s recklessly doing it on the international stage. He has allowed his own ego and his fight with the mainstream media and the Left over the Russia collusion narrative to dictate how he engages the leader of an adversarial foreign country.

Trump might be a pawn of Putin, but not in the way the media like to portray it. He’s a pawn because Putin has a good read on Trump and the domestic climate in America. He knows just which buttons to press, and how to play on Trump’s weaknesses.

Although Trump’s incredible statements at the press conference were irresponsible, naïve, and even dangerous, they do not reflect current U.S. policy toward Russia. And that’s a very good thing.....snip~

Rand Paul Defends Trump on Russia.....


While President Trump has faced widespread backlash from Republicans and Democrats alike over his performance at the Helsinki Summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin—not everyone was displeased.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), in fact, liked much of what Trump had to say.

“It’s gotten so ridiculous that someone has to stand up and say we should try to engage even our adversaries and open up our lines of communication,” Paul, who’s set to travel to Russia next month to continue talks, told Politico. "We’re going to talk to the president about some small steps in order to try to thaw the relations between our countries.”
