    You charge those who commit war crimes with war crimes not those who "engineer" a war. The Afghan war was not stupid it was necessary but the Iraq war was indeed stupid and Bush should have finished the Afghan war instead of going into Iraq.

    As I read that article, if you have to decide between arming people who are fighting Assad and not, I'd probably do the same thing...

    trump was very clever in hiring Bolton because it took him out of circulation and made him feel part of the team. Of course, trump never listened to Bolton so Bolton had no real influence on anything. Now that he has been kicked to the curb he will lose whatever credibility he might have once had. trump played Bolton like a violin.

    The myth that we hear 160 years later is that all Southeners fought for the glory of Dixie. Yet now youndisputed that or at least failed to support that myth.

    That link included the actual paperwork from 1862 so if one did research it was readily available information.

    Literally all wars are fought the same way. Rich people decide and poor schmucks are forced to fight for the rich and powerful. I really don't get blaming the entirety of the South for the decisions of a few rich in the south. If you were 18-35 you got drafted unless you had 20 slaves (rich) or had a profession in need (rich and connections). You could also be a conscientious observer but again you had to be rich as that cost 500 dollars. Oh and by the time the south finished the up the age limit you could be drafted to 45

    My point is that in the South people have this myth about the glory of the Southern cause, the protection of the Southern way of life the religious worship of Confederate statues which cropped up in the late 1800's and the 1960 's .
