A point made in this thread is that Trump met Putin with the only translator available being the Russian translator and that is somehow wrong, yet it is OK for Onamato do the same thing? Where did I ever say there were only 3 people present? How does Rice being there help? She can't tell if the translations by the Russian are accurate. You are making things up to defend the indefensable. Kind of a smarmy guy, aren't you?

You posted the silly picture as if to prove some equivalence between the two situations. And nobody actually ever said they cared about the accuracy of the Russian translations. What people care about is having a record of what Trump said.

And calling me names won't actually cover up the fact that your attempt at pretending Obama meeeting with Putin with another American present is the Same as Trump meeting with Putin without any other American being there to record or remember what he said.

Um no, I'm a woman...I didn't mean that women in general were bitches but rather that Hillary IS. Although everyone sanctions Russia, if I was Putin I would truly hate it a lot more having to take it from Hillary. And no matter how you feel about a nation, there should be at least a certain amount of respect given and taken if you intend on getting along at all. I think Hillary's attitude is such a deal breaker, she would have at least three quarters of the world pissed off. If for no other reason, the fact that she has zero integrity and therefore, everyone knows her word would be meaningless unless plenty of money was in the deal that would eventually make it to her bank account by way of some bogus money laundering foundation of course.

LOL I wonder if that room was swept of bugs before that meeting happened which looked REALLY nefarious in nature. But that just shows how pictures can imply criminality where there may not have been any. Two sitting there I know for a fact are absolute criminals, so it certainly doesn't look good. And besides them who knows if Putin and his translator could be trusted as well?

It's the optics of this thing that look bad. When Obama had Rice sitting there with him, he had someone that could verify whatever was or wasn't talked about in the meeting. With Trump going it alone, he doesn't have anyone that could vouch for what was said, and that leaves control of the conversation firmly in Putin's corner. Putin could say they talked about damn near anything and we'd have to take his word for it because Trump was alone.

I frankly do not recall Trump trying to make a big deal out of what was said to him by Putin at the dinner. It is the press that is full of rage.

 

Putin is fluent in English. He did not need to be translated to Trump.
