Trump is considering Pardon for Edward Snowden!

This country and too much of the western world suffers from acute moral dissonance. They no longer know the difference between right and wrong.

 

You mean one side commits military aggression against the other side. You mean one country invades the other under fraud.

You display the same moral dissonance that afflicts so many indoctrinated Americans.

 

I'm not a fan of whistleblowing, I say bail out and keep your mouth shut, at least for your own sake because whistleblowers always end up with the short end of the stick. But my kids think Snowden is the bees knees... they would probably love the idea of a Snowden pardon

 

I admire whistle blowers. They are people of morality, patriotic idealists who unlike me are not cowards.

You can never have a decent govt without the courage of whistle blowers. And of course people in power hate sunlight that reveals they are scumbags. So of course they want to imprison these patriots. No different than Xi in Communist China or Kim in NK. Except those two will execute you .

When a republic starts jailing journalists and whistle blowers the republic died at the hands of those in power. Yet many of us don't care. And will side with the tyrants who do this. Much of America has lost its sense of right and wrong, its moral core and love of what our founders gave us. They don't care if the govt is good and decent and therefore hate anyone who reveals the lawless sociopathic scum that rule us.

Well, you won't see me backtracking. I've always supported Wikileaks. Mainly because they just release the facts and let them speak for themselves. Instead of characterizing and spinning it like so many in the media does today.

 

that's very noble... except often their whistleblowing only cause others to use exactly what they exposed making the problem worse... and of course they pay a big personal price for their whistleblowing. Weighing the end result with personal sacrifice... I'm don't think it is worth it

Snowden and Assange should've both been pardonned the instant after Trump took his oath of office, the paperwork having been drawn up the instant he was elected.

 

Please explain what a traitor like Snowden, who stole databases full of classified information, fled overseas with it to Hong Kong, lied about where he was for 10 days there, then went to Russia where he has political asylum, should be pardoned by Trump or any US President? That sounds insane to me.

 

That should be blindingly obvious now.

You could then work on the more pedestrian strains of sabotage.

 

2 slight corrections.

Snowden stole databases full of YOUR information that was illegally stolen from us by the government via the government's illegal spying that he exposed.

Snowden was in route to Ecuador but Obama had his passport cancelled and he was stuck in the transit zone of Moscow's main airport...for over a week IIRC...so Russia had to deal with that problem. It makes for great Russia Russia Russia propaganda though.

 

And because Trump did not do as you have suggested, the interested observer sees Trump as the moral midget he is.

And another correction: he stole information from a dozen+ countries, all political adversaries of Russia and China.

 

First correction: False. The Guardian has probably done the most in releasing information from the stolen Snowden data, and I've not heard of any personal citizen information as part of that cache, it was all classified intelligence information.

Second correction: Also False. You are referring to events that occurred after Snowden went to Russia.
