Really? They could, idk I’m spitballing here, make a list of the prevalent infant deformities lol it’s not rocket science
So once again in this thread you can’t back up your accusations against me. I’m noticing a trend where you like to put words in people’s mouth and when called on to back up your statements you deflect.
That in no way negates my statement. Medicine like all other things can be quantified by numbers. You said you had research on infant deformities early so it is a fairly straightforward process to write a list of deformities that cause an infant to no longer be liable.
Oh my, you think a politician is standing in the room with the thousands of doctors and women who are going through this....what a ridiculous thing to think... Those politicians must have lotsa time on their hands !!
WTF don't you get about being a doctor and not being a doctor? That isn't real deep......try to catch on...
WHAT accusations against you haven't I proven? YOU denying things or being wrong is all I saw.. Meanwhile doctors and women are making the decisions....and you aren't....as it should be...
FoxHastings said: ↑ You are finally correct. Bills are written by politicians in consultation with experts....who are NOT you. Oh, here's the part of the post you had to leave out """Bills are written by politicians in consultation with experts....who are NOT you."""
Again with making stuff up lol.... quote me saying “I think a politician is standing in the room”....... either quote me or stop lying Do you think that if politicians aren’t standing in the room when a murder is committed they don’t get to make laws pertaining to murder.....
Uh everyone and when called out to quote me you never do Prove with my quote where I said I wanted to make the law.....
What don’t you get about Politicians writing the laws that govern all of us including doctors? That ain’t real deep........try to catch on..... but I doubt you will you spend your time lying about people’s positions
It does Unless you personally have experienced theses things, and I hope for your sake you never have to, then you cannot begin to comprehend the complexities, the emotions and the difficulty of the decisions being made This is what made me so personally angry about Trump’s remarks - he diminished the very real anguish all, not just the parents, but all who stand at that bedside go through You cannot begin to quantify what “quality of life” means because it is different for every single being. There is the added complexity of “mosaicism” which is where not every cell in the body caries the same genes or even number of chromosomes (yep! Can happen) and even those that DO are “suppressed” with the gene expression Try Quantifying THAT Some parents will want EVERYTHING done despite what it might put the child through, others will say No! I do not want my child to live a life of pain and anguish This is why you do not hear the medical staff calling for legislation - they KNOW how complex this is
There has to be a line though period. If a child has a deformity according to one set of parents why not give it up for adoption to another set of parents who doesn’t feel that way? Earlier you spoke of all this research and I’m willing to bet out of that research and list of deformities that would preclude infants from the 2002 law could be easily compiled. Is a missing limb considered a deformity? Club foot? Cleft palate? Blindness? Deafness? Webbed toes?
No there doesn’t - because that line is constantly changing Now please stop, just stop with this conspiracy theory ***** about people will fully killing babies Can you imagine someone saying “Oh! It has a clubbed foot - kill it!” Can you imagine the medical staff who devote thier life to saving lives actually going along with that?? The USUAL criteria is “abnormality incompatible with life” but again QUALITY comes into that. IF I personally gave birth to a “cotton wool” baby (that is where the skin is so fragile it rips when touched) I would not want that child to live a life of pain and deformity but there have been children with this condition who have survived And thier lives even have moments of happiness - but that does not mean they will not suffer every single day
It was a legitimate question... Would blindness be a condition where parents could let the baby die? So what your saying is in a case of a cotton wool baby it is subjective on whether the deformity is in consistent with life. So in those causes why not give the child up for adoption?
No one wants to adopt Same reason why America has a far higher infant mortality rate than comparable countries even though you have whole swathes of people adamantly insisting that “abortion is murder” Bottom line - who pays I have asked this of you before - are you willing to pay EVERY disability comes with a cost - the greater the disability the greater the cost
See there’s something we all should be able to agree on. If true about adoption what can we do to help encourage it? I think people want to help those less fortunate, don’t charities such as MDA and hospitals like Reilys get good donations? Honest question I’m not trying to bait you I don’t want to force others to donate to these causes but I try and I really try to live with the motto “do unto others” if I had a deformity or my child I would want to know I had the communities support.
This is not about unwanted babies - these babies ARE wanted by thier parents who will often go to extreme lengths to try and keep them alive - but it is ALSO about compassion. No one wants a child that will only suffer If you want to help - start looking at WHY America has such a high infant mortality rate. Babies are dying in America faster than comparable first world countries https://www.healthsystemtracker.org...ount-significant-portion-infant-mortality-u-s
Don't care what you say, ELECTIVE abortions during the third trimester should be illegal. The woman should be able to make the decision IMO during the first three months.
Depends. We aren't even at that question for infants. Are people who murder live infants, capable of life outside the womb and hospital OK because of the mothers emotional distress? No reason to kill a child in the 3rd trimester, let alone post partum.
Who is doing that - Oh! You mean the REPUBLICANS that have denied health care to so many and now America has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the developed world??
And if the anomaly is not visible or detectable until late in the pregnancy?? Women do not go through eight months of pregnancy and then decide on an abortion on a whim
FUNNY THE NUMBER OF REAL SICK PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE WHAT PAIN AND SUFFERING "PRECIOUS LIFE" GOES THROUGH AS LONG AS IT ISN'T THEM....AS LONG AS THEY MAKE WOMEN PAY FOR BEING PREGNANT. IT'S STUPID HOW THEY, PEOPLE WITH NO HORRIBLE DEFORMITIES, NOT HAVING TO LIVE A LIFE WISHING THEY WERE NORMAL AND LIKE OTHERS, THESE FIENDS WHO WISH THIS ON OTHERS......BUT COULDN'T HANDLE THE PAIN THEMSELVES,,,SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE THEM...WHAT A SICK WORLD WHERE PEOPLE WISH FOR OTHERS, INNOCENTS, TO SUFFER ...
