Trump initially fought against having the sprinklers installed in the 90s. He later changed his view in that they make people feel safer but did not update all his buildings. He was sure to put a jab in though saying more fires occur in homes. Real piece of work.
Libs have been running NYC for decades. Why have they not removed the grandfather clause? This tragedy is on the libs who actually make the laws in NYC, not some guy who lobbied 30 years ago.
It was built in the early 80's and sprinkler systems weren't mandatory until the late 80's, a regulation which didn't apply to anything already built.
It really doesn't matter from the negligence aspect because if Trump knew that sprinklers could save lives and if he didn't install them despite not being compelled to, a solid case for negligence can be argued. There are probably many precedents that support this argument of negligence. Trump is probably at his weakest at this time with multiple lawsuits accumulating. He can't use intimidation and thugs to frighten litigators because he is more exposed to public scrutiny as POTUS.
How is this Trump's fault? Democrats ARE desperate. Had this happened any year prior to 2015 then we wouldn't have heard about it. When Trump Tower was built, fire sprinklers weren't necessary. It was almost a decade after when sprinklers became mandatory, but that only went towards buildings built after the regulation.
Trump apologists would manufacture excuses even if Trump strangled a defenseless person (with a thin neck) without cause.
Since when is complying with a law "negligence"? Your TDS is out of control. It's time you accepted the results of the election.
Nah man, it's been almost 40 years. Y'all are just eager to find blame in Trump anywhere you can. One fire in almost 40 years. Trump was right when he said it was a solid build.
It's not just one fire. There was another fire in Trump Tower recently. Others have probably been hushed up by Trump goons or Trump lawyers with NDAs and brown paper bags.
No, we would blame Trump if there was a reason to blame him. I didn't like how he bashed George Bush during the primaries and he almost lost a lot of votes to Cruz because of it. There's just no logical reason to blame him in this scenario. 1 fire in 12,549 days of being completed and every Trump hater out there wants to come down on Trump. It's ridiculously stupid.
It's the second fire in Trump Tower in 2018. How many other fires have been covered up? https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-tower-fire-second-2018-blaze-in-sprinkler-free-residence/
So, how does that apply, specifically, to this building? And, if my math is correct, we have not yet reached July 1, 2019.
Sounds like a lawsuit against Trump. But families of the deceased will have to get in line, Trump thrives on lawsuits. When he bothers to pay his lawyers.
Impeach him and remove his from office!!! This is the kind of stuff the hillary democrats will have to fall back on, once Mueller concludes his political driven investigation. You guys may as well start planning for it. And if you had only listened to a left leaning journalist like Greenwald, you could have saved yourself much wailing and gnashing of teeth, IMO. Why is it that if a left leaning journalist, a real one, does not buy into the madness on the hillary democrat side, he is ignored?
