I've been pulled over more than a dozen times by police and I was armed every time. Twice even out of state. Not once did I have any kind of close call. I even argued my way out of a ticket once. He tried to get me to confess to speeding since he was in front of me doing over 90 mph and he thought I was following him. He couldn't prove it and I wouldn't confess, so he let me go. I keep my hands where the cop can see them and tell them immediately that I am legally armed and where my gun is. I don't raise my voice and use "sir or maam" a lot. If he stays in his car to run my plates, I make sure to have my LTC and insurance paperwork in my hands when he arrives. It's common sense. Don't threaten the cop!

I notice you conveniently left out what those facts you're talking about are.

Kinda like you invent really bad OP's and don't answer direct questions.

OF course. It is stupid. We need to stop it being a death sentence. We are a DECENT society.

Putting people on the ground, sleeper hold or not, doesn't kill them. Being ridiculously overweight and in poor health does that.

His airway was not damaged in any way.

There are millions of arrests per year that go down exactly how that one did, and they don't die.

he was choked to death, the body doesn't like to be denied oxygen...

you can bet if you put someone in a choke hold and they die, you will be responsible for the death too

You would have to maintain a non-airway chokehold for about 5 minutes to kill a normal person. An airway choke hold is going to damage the trachea by putting too much pressure on it. Garners airway was not damaged, meaning he was placed in a chokehold that cut off blood flow causing unconsciousness.

If these choke holds killed people in the 15 seconds or so Garner was in one, we'd have MMA fighters dying by the dozen.

Garner had asthma, diabetes, hypertension and was obese. These are the things that were secondary to his death.

The primary thing that caused his death was resisting arrest.

All he had to do was shut his mouth, say ok, and let them cuff him.

And he wouldn't have ended up in a choke hold if he had complied. If he hadn't been selling loosies he wouldn't have had contact with the police at all.

Understand this: I'm not defending the illegal usage of a choke hold, I'm simply saying that he put himself in that situation like MOST of the people killed during an arrest, and that the way he was arrested would not have killed him if it wasn't for all of his combined health issues.

People get choked out all the time in MMA. They don't die. I've been put in choke holds. I'm still here.

I saw the entire incident and he wasn't resisting arrest; he obviously didn't want to be arrested by was being passive at the time, then he was pounced on by the NYPD who'd been provoking him. I couldn't believe my eyes!

I mean I watched it on a BBC tv documentary called Terror in New York.

Only one ticket on my record. Either defensive driving class or deferred adjudication took the other 3 tickets off my record. The rest let me off with a warning. Most cops let me off with a warning when they see my LTC with veteran status on it. A pleasant unexpected benefit legally of carrying a gun.

If you attack a heart patient, and you didn't know it, and he dies, you are charged with the crime, NO points for I didn't know. Thems the breaks.

Don't want to answer for dead guys? Don't strangle fat likely heart patients. They cant run, WHY the (*)(*)(*)(*) strangle them?

Cause of death was a heart attack according to the coroners report. Resisting and wrestling with cops put a strain on his heart and that killed him.
No where in the autopsy report did it mention anything about a choke hold specifically.

It is policy of the NYPD to not allow choke holds by their officers. It is not banned by many police departments across the country.
The choke hold that has been taught to law enforcement for decades, does not put pressure on the larynx, it compresses the corroded artery causing one to temporarily pass out due to lack of blood oxygen to the brain. Mixed martial arts fighters safely use this choke hold in UFC competition every day. As long as the artery is only compressed for a short period of time, there is no damage to the brain.
This guy died from a strain on his heart from battling with police, it had nothing to do with the brain.

So you are saying that due to the cops that you have, people that have nothing to hide, or no warrants, run from the police for no reason?
Isn't that asking for trouble when they finally get caught, due to these horrible cops.

Because he was resisting arrest. When one resists arrest, it leads to a physical confrontation. How else to you suggest that they subdue someone that is combative?

So is wrestling with cops, it raises your heart rate.

I don't see where stop and frisk was part of this conversation.
