Biden threthened to cut off funding because the Ukies were dragging their feet on reform. The message was at the urging of the IMF and G8. My knowledge of Ukraine tells me that reforms were getting lip service. Biden did his deal in a chicly arrogant way or as I said before as a Trump. Then the old fool bragged about it.

Zelensky ran his campaign and instead of promising a wall between Eastern Ukraine and Russia he promised to attack corruption and getvreform going for real.

Zelensky is between a rock and. Hard place. He does what Trump wants and if Biden gets in Ukraine is scrudded. He does not conduct a witch hunt against the Biden Boys and Trump gets re-lected Ukraine is scrudded.

He should not have been involved at all and there is still the elephant in the room and that is why was his son being controlled by Ukraine oligarchsb being paid millions for sitting on their board for which he had NO qualifications or knowledge of anything.

Zelensky ran on an anti-corruption platform and admires Trump "drain the swamp". ZELENSKY brought up the corruption FIRST. Trump was responding to him and what he wanted to do. Trump responded on the foreign meddling in our legal system and then later what more and more appears to be serious courruption on Bidens part with the Ukraine government that may have enriched his son. THAT needs to be investigated and we need the cooperation of the Ukraine and they are bound to that by TREATY.

I know all about Zelensky yes he ran on the anti corruption platform and he is correct on that score. The "funny" thing is that Zelensky is a comedian with a TV show who played the part of a school teacher who decided to run for president. He exemplified life mimicking art.

As an American of Ukrainian decent with family in Ukraine I wish Zaiensky well and Ukraine well. The corruption in Ukraine existed during the Soviet times and the corrupt ones went from Communist officials and KGB turds to neo Kapitalistas and oligarchs. Yet the Democrats want to engage in this bogus impeachment thing with it instead of supporting. If there is to be change the agent of change in Ukraine is Zalensky. Poroshenko who also talked reform had too many left over corrupt apparatchiks. There are also way too many characters in government who have hidden pro Russian tendencies and they are more likely prone towards corruption.

Ukraine obviously been an target of Russian interference. That is how Yanukovych the pro Russian turd got to be president and wanted to join Ukraine to a Russia led economic union. So do not kid yourself Russian interference is a real thing and Ukraine was their first victim.

 

And we are BOUND BY TREATY to assist each other in these matters. Congress needs to get it's nose out of it. And then we need to vote these Democrats out of office and stop this nonsense that is tearing us apart internally and endangering our national security.

 

Russian interference in Ukrainian elections is not the only Russian problem for Ukraine. Russians have invaded parts of Ukraine. Russian interference in our (US) elections is malipulation of the electorate.

You need to identify the "treaties" you are talking about. We have all sorts of bilateral treaties with all sorts of countries. Do you have links that identify and spell out those that we have with Ukraine? I am curious to see. I know that we have a NATO partnership agreement with Ukraine but we do not have a NATO treaty with Ukraine because if we did Russia would never have invaded.

 

But it is one of the problems and it needs to be dealt with and we now have a Ukraine President and a US President who are committed to do so.

Ok you gave me the name of the treaty buried in your links. Here is the text of the treaty with Ukraine on legal assistance in legal matters. That was nice so I got the actual treaty text.

This treaty says that we have a vehicle for mutual assistance. This is for when both or one party needs assistance when a crime has been committed. Mutual assistance on crimes . So that is after a crime has been committed as I understand it.

 

That is the same document I found also. So we have a vehicle for cooperation but do we have a crime? So Trump says to Zelensky "go forth Volodymyr and find me a crime".
