If that is correct, politfact (whatever that is...and I'll go look) is 100% wrong.

 

Trump admires absolutist monarchies like Saudi Arabia. He wants the US to be Trumpist America someday. He'll probably throw gays out of the Party to make the Sauds feel good next

 

I read the relevant Politifact article too, if it's the same one that you read. Didn't you read the part that specified, "apostasy, blasphemy, adultery and consensual same-sex relations?"

 

That's apparently only part of it.

 

Yeah, but the fact that certain crimes are specified tells me that it's not against the death penalty for absolutely anything.

 

How is that not corruption? I ask this of the Trumpsters here ... if Trump had the U.S. vote against a condemnation of executing homosexuals, and Ivanka gains $100 million from the nations most determined to execute them, is that not corrupt? And in this case, human lives are at stake.

Ugly on the inside, that's our president. It's going to take years to undo his damage.

 

See my question above. Money grubbing is one thing, but voting in favor of killing innocent people in exchange for $100 million in donations (yes, I know, there's no proof of this, yet) that's appalling.

That's a good point, we should never be friends with regimes like the Saudis. The only reason for it is oil. Makes me sick.

 

I would agree on that fact you need only to be friend with "good countries". If you want to get only virtuous friends in the world, you will be alone, and probably unable to be friend with yourself. Every country is either corrupted or under religious fanaticism.
I would rather stick with : non-intervention in internal affairs and keeping as good as possible diplomatic relationship with most countries. You don't have to appreciate them, just have good relationship with them.

You should take what you read in blogs with large grain of salt.

 

Not for gay people, the only countries to execute people for homosexuality are muslim countries. Aswell the only countries punishing blasphemy and apostasy by death.

If it was applying to the death penalty for any crime, can you think of any reason why specific crimes were stated?

 

If trade with another country is good for the USA's prosperity it does not matter how the trading partner runs their own county.

Take Mexico for example. Many tens of thousands of Americans are killed and untold families uprooted by Mexican drugs, but NAFTA was established for trade. So the government looks the other way on the Mexican drugs, and does just enough to make the people think they at least are doing a little something now and then.

Odd! That same scenario has been suggested at least fifty time on the site in regard to Mr Trumps returns, but some here and around the country simply refuse to process that reality!
