    .
    This was your quote
I already proved that this was not reason for the US to have the Shah on their payroll.

Just the post number I all I want.
I seem to have missed it

So you didn't already prove it.
You had to look it up now.

You're just nitpicking around. In the end, I can prove my things.... you do not.
At your very best, you cherry pick a sentence out of a book, without any context or knowledge of the subject discussed.

I don't believe that the US wants war with Iran. The American people are war weary, and so is the US military. If memory serves me correctly, we deployed a maximum of 140,000 troops
to Iraq, and had great diificulty maintaining troop levels there. Iran with need more than that if we invade. The whole US army is 470,000 men, the majority of whom are in support, not
combat, units (there is also 180,000 Marines). We have committments in Germany and Korea. I think a land invasion is out of the question. Any war would, hopefully, be confined to drones,
cruise missles and air strikes. Even air strikes are terribly risky, if Iran shots down just one plane and captures an American pilot we are pretty much screwed. There will be years of
negotaitions with people who only tell the truth by accident.

oh Mac-7 disagrees,... with nothing to back it up. That should sound familiar to you.
