criminals hate background checks, cause it keeps honest Patriotic Americans from selling guns to criminals.
Criminals don't even worry about background checks since they usually don't buy them from stores or Patriotic Americans. You are barking up the wrong tree and have fallen for the propaganda.
gun stores often can't get the "ok" info on a gun sale for DAYS. Private sellers will never let you stop them, dude. Never. they want their money, and buyers want their guns. Just like the dopers, and it WILL happen, and all your wannabe laws will just make for millions of normal people turn into scofflaw felons. as has already happened to 10's of thousands in CT, CA, etc, where people simply defy laws about "assault rifles" and the like. Eff you, anti-gunners. We have the guns, the skill with them and other ways of fighting, and we're not going to let you win.
background checks have prevent tens of thousands of people from illegally getting guns. this is a good thing.
I have no problems with UBC, as long as the check is on the buyer and the gun info is not recorded. A background check does not have to equal a gun registration. That's where the potential for abuse lies. I would exempt anybody with a valid FOID card, CHL, or military ID. Those cards are proof of background check.
I can make an FOID card in an hour, on my computer and printer. if stopping a sale in a store meant stoppig the guy from getting a gun, MAYBE, but it doesn't. They are not prosecuted for the attempt. They just get the gun in some other manner. I can move into any town, big enough to have a taxicab service, and buy a gun within 48 hours, normally within 24 hours, without having to resort to a gun store. all the cab drivers know where to find whores, all the whores know dope dealers and almost all dope dealers know thieves. Thieves are HAPPY to go steal stuff "to order", if they know that they have a sale already (for top prices).
I don't know. I know when discussing firearms and a citizens rights to own firearms, I am not talking to the enemy, but a person that also has rights given at birth and further enumerated in the bill of rights. I don't speak to the enemy, but another citizen (at least in the US).
best you got? Maybe, what if, perhaps??????? supposition.......................it all requires a data base which is illegal for the fed gov to have such a system. Proud of what? something that hasn't happened? great, another BoR hater................ - - - Updated - - - why need a permit at all?
still demanding we accept your definition of patriotism? that is so sad.................. A patriot should turn his neighbor in..... a patriot should worship government...... a patriot would never challenge those who are in charge... a patriot should be a burden to his country... when people start pointing fingers at other people, maybe they need to be looked at more carefully. They usually have something to hide themselves
Register everyone...Sieg Heil!!!! According to you, everyone needs to kneel before Zod...ain't gonna happen - - - Updated - - - statisitics or you are whipping up fear based on nothing except your opinion.
those who would sell their souls for love of government...you know, Progressive Liberals, communists, socialists. Personally I don't think any Progressive liberal should ever own more than a butter knife.................
It doesn't matter. Your little skirmish with arms that you can carry will do nothing against the might of the US military. Your rebellion will last an hour before you're taken out by knockout gas, artillery or a weaponized drone. You won't see it coming. Us "Progressive liberals" will just sit carry on enjoying our leisure time, democracy, healthcare, the odd golf game, and other forms of "tyranny". That's what you get for believing that your firearm brings you freedom.
I despise tyranny. I love America. I love our freedom. And I love the fact that old geezers complain about "tyranny" when the hardest decision of their day is to either get online and post anti-government rants or to watch TV for hours. Yes, this "tyranny" is so oppressive. #firstworldproblems
when one dances to every tune the government plays, that isn't Liberty or Freedom. that just makes you a puppet
Bread and circuses summed up in one post. You decry the person that fights for liberty while enjoying the things the government let's you do.
Yes, no individual or small group of people could really do anything in the face of a large military force. Rather, it is the collective potential of the people — a wide range of common people from all different places and walks of life — that stands there as a last line of defense to secure our liberties. And if you think handheld weapons can't stand against an invading military force, you have never read about the attempted Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in the 1980s. Look, I am not saying you need military protection against your government today. But in the future —maybe a generation or two from now — your government might be unable to adequately protect you from an outside force, or perhaps just unwilling to protect your rights from others in the government acting outside the law.
