California is run by democrats. And they just aren't going to have that.

BTW-once they chased out republicans in govt, they turned on each other.

    It never ends.

You can't win back California, Californians are going to have to decide to come back to reality.

California is run by people in Sacramento and DC who have far too much invested in the "progressive" ideology, they will never give up their power base. California is populated by far too many people who either live in fantasy land or who have been brainwashed into believing "progressivism" is good for them.

They are all going to have to learn the hard way - through their wallet. When the progs don't have enough of other peoples money and they start to starve, then they will change their minds and abandon their fantasy.

You usually can't save an addict until they hit bottom. California has to hit bottom.

Yes they should, because that is where everyone lives. By your same logic, why should a vast majority of the country have their way of lives determined by a few people in some tiny town in the middle of nowhere?Again if these fly-over states are so concerned then maybe they should try and give people a legitimate reason to live there.

You must mean welfare, and selective enforcement of the law. Dems love that stuff.

Well, letting churches and business run rampant doesn't seem to be working out for you. It's amazing you keep forcing policies no one wants.

We don't judge by talk we judge by actions. Deporting illegals, banning Muslims, cutting food stamps, reducing funding for job training, cutting Medicaid, cutting taxes gor the rich, etc, etc. Connect the dots.

What is so bad about deporting illegals? Do you prefer to have them be legal or break the law? If they are breaking the law we should deport them right? Do you support illegals? If no then why are you complaining about it?

Illegals are criminals breaking the law. I don't get why people have no problem with this and try to protect them?

Deporting illegals wouldn't be easy. How do you move 11 million people who don't want to go? A compromise is the answer. I can suggest one for starters.

First, illegal alien criminals forfeit all right to be in country. They will be gone and no one should feel sorry. Will families be broken? Aren't American families broken too when a member goes to jail?

    What's the difference?

For long-term illegals, we could set up a bond/insurance program. They can buy a bond to guarantee they will obey laws, pay taxes and obtain citizenship legally. For example, a $100,000 bond might cost $1500.00 per year. An illegal, or their employer, could get the bond and obtain residency. If they break the bond, the money is forfeit to the government and they have to leave the US. Children under a certain age can be added to their parents bond. Children who join gangs, or break laws, will be deported.

Like all compromises, this plan does not make everyone happy, but it is something everyone can live with.

    Any intelligent responses?

Stop the Conservatives left from exiting the state. How do you do that? Can you blame them? Arizona receives a ton of refugees from there. So does Texas and other states.

    California is a lost cause?

Spoken like someone who knows nothing about politics. People laughed when they said Ronald Reagan from California would be president one day.

    You know the rest.

    Deporting illegals - great!

There is no ban on muslims. But banning people from certain nations? Great!

Cutting govt spending such as on welfare? Great! In case you haven't noticed, the govt has lost its war on poverty, $Trillions spent and no decrease in poverty.

Cutting taxes? Great! Any cut in taxation is a good thing.

You don't have to round up and deport all the illegals, all you have to do is turn off the magnet that brings them here and keeps them here. No more taxpayer funded government assistance for illegals, end sanctuary cities and states, start inspecting employers and fining them when they hire illegals (everyone in the community knows who hires the illegals). When cops stumble across an illegal (traffic stop, etc), deport the illegal immediately.

Turn off the magnet and the vast majority will self-deport.

As for the ones who have been in the USA for a long time, can demonstrate they are productive members of society, and can demonstrate they have "melted" into American culture, I would consider a permit allowing them to live and work in the USA to be reviewed and renewed every 3 years. They cannot bring their extended family, can never become a citizen and vote (and voting is what the illegal issue is all about).

I know a little about politics

The reason I say california is gone has to do with too many mexicans moving there legally and illegally who vote democrat.

And the exodus of so many white conservatives to other states

Along with the aging democraphics of the white Christian conservatives who remain.

What we see going on at berkley is the face of california for the forseeable furture

A lot of the country doesn't seem too high on the free market scam, especially after Kansas. And since when has the GOP been for individual liberties? Sessions is trying to get people thrown in prison for weed and most of their voter would rather die than give some control over their bodies.
