The way to go is a government job.

Lots of time off and no monetary constraints.
(seeing that it’s the taxpayers money)

Unlike the private sector, you don’t really have to produce.

Just smile and say the politically correct things and your set for life.

This opportunity exists here in the good ole USA.

    No need to amscray.

The pay would be better outside the private sector, for sure. You wouldn't have to fear being outsourced every time the annual CEO replacement occurs. You probably would have more time off too, no doubt. Doesn't sound too bad actually.

Because you didn't include "maximizing profits" or "there can never be enough profit" in your sentence. It's a mental disconnect.

I've heard good things about New Zealand too. What also concerns me though, is that WHEN this country does what they do when everything goes to Hell here, is that various countries will become even angrier with Americans and take it out on them. I think the world will lock up tighter than a virgin towards Americans and be very hostile to all of them. Maybe Canada could be a quick fix for those that want out of the madness?

I'm envious Gwendoline. I was just saying to my wife I miss rugging up against the cold. We haven't had a winter in over five years, except for two weeks in July 2010.

I'd like to spend some time in Venezuela,, they say the women are beautiful. My wife and I almost excepted jobs in Bolivia, which would have been a wonderful experience.

Any plans to come back to Australia, Lizarddust? What part are you from? The cold will be waiting for you when you return. 13 degrees tonight. But during the day still warm enough to head for the beach:

The Virgin Mary at Coogee beach. The people came from all over... turned out it was just light reflecting a particular way on a fence post.

We're from south of the Gong. We have some of the best beaches in the country right at our door step.

Another four - five years will see us out, then early retirement. Our two grandsons had been born since we moved OS, and we really haven't seen them grow up. Time to spend time with the grandkids when we return.

At this point in time, I think there are many countries that offer better conditions all the way around for the average worker just wanting to live his life, and earn from HIS work.

We're kinda neighbours then. Was up in Woy Woy today, quite lovely that Hawkesbury river. It's not that long for your return, then. Early retirement and spending time with your grandkids sounds lovely. I think i'll be working till I drop, probably didn't plan as well as I shoulda, but never mind, I enjoy working... mostly...

Apologies RtWngaFraud for derailing a little... come to Australia. Plenty of 'average working men and women here' living and working a decent / good life.
