He did affect my life. Before his announcement of the surge, at Kandahar, we were getting about 1 mortar/rocket attack every week or 2. Within 24 hours of his announcement, we got 2-4 attacks. And then the next day too. And the next day. I was there an additional 7 months or so after that announcement, and we never did return to the days of 1 alarm red every week or 2. The enemy directly responded to Obama's announcement. And I can't figure out any valid reason (I don't consider politics as a valid reason to risk my life further than it already was) why he proclaimed to the world our surge.

The OP asks as question and then sets qualifiers that would exclude virtually every possible answer short of Obama coming to someone's house and kicking them in the nuts personally. For instance someone could still be working at a factory but the factory had to let people go because they are not selling as many widgets. Is that person affected personally, no but the author is automatically disallowing any mention of the other workers losing their jobs.

This quote from the OP says it all right here. "I don’t want to hear about downstream affects that haven’t taken place yet or see economic indicators with graphs." Also, this quote "You cannot tell us about a job that was lost due to something you, your company or its shareholders did." Meaning basically that if someone does say they were fired that it isn't Obama's fault because Obama didn't fire them their company did.

Another quote that shows the complete disengeniousness of this OP "I don’t want to hear what Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, Matt Drudge, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh or Laura Ingraham thinks or has said."

Someone who was a true centerist as this liar claims to be would have also mentioned MSNBC or specifically any of the personalities on that show like Piers MOrgan or Olberman etc.

This is just a laughable attempt by a pathetic liar to try and make it impossible to list Obama's failures.

Unfortunately I can't comment on how Obamacare will effect me because I cannot sign up for it since the pages keep timing out.

    All very lovely……..really……

Has your life been impacted, have you suffered a major loss in your life that you can trace back to the president?

His is really easy, really easy.

And I bet that if you try you can summon the courage to just tell the truth.

Since my life being further threatened is not a good enough reason to warrant a reply, I'll go further. I served 10 years. I signed a GI Bill contract. I had money taken out of my check for a year or 2 for the GI Bill. There were commercials for years, and still are, saying if you join the military and serve honorably, you will have your schooling paid for. But in the last 2 years, vets have had this benefit REPEATEDLY threatened. The whole time I have been going for this degree, I've had to worry that on any given 1st of the month, that will be it, I will be forced to abandon the degree program I was promised I would have an opportunity to have if I fought honorably. It's pretty damn stressful. It directly affects my life.

Thank you for your honesty……"nothing has affected you” as nothing has affected millions of others that hate the guy worst than mom telling them to finish their liver at the supper table……

You seriously said that………….I’m truly at a loss for words.

You honestly believe that big brother hasn’t been watching since the day the internet was first turned on?

    SERIOUSLY????

And let’s say that President Obama was the first president to turn on snooping on the web.

How exactly does that change the taste of your food, affect your tax rates, affect your job, affect your love life, affect your passions outdoors or your health?

You've been mislead again by RW propaganda. The truth is that 85% of the jobs added in the last year, and 95% of all jobs added since Jan 2010, have been full time jobs. And the less than 5% of part time jobs added were where the folks wanted part time work.

While I agree that things are not going as well as they should for reasons I have stated, I disagree we are in a "crisis".

    1) To show that things are not stagnant or getting worse as conservatives often claim, like the one I responded to.
    2) To show Republican critics how Obama compares to their last president, for comparison purposes.

    Fair enough.

This administration has been serverely hampered by the Republicans controlling the House as well as other factors beyond its control.

For example, what do you think the net change in government employment in the states has been over the past four years? How has that compared to what happened during, say the recovery when Reagan was president? How much has Federal spending grown over the past four years? How has that compared to what happened during, say the recovery when Reagan was president?

And then we can look at the effects of "trickle down" policies as well as globalization and automation over the past 30 years and the effect those things have had on the distribution of wealth from the middle classes to the 1%, and ponder what effect that has on the economy and recovery.

I VOTED for Bush first time around but grew to hate him as he tried to capitalize on 9/11 and handed out tax breaks after decades of attempts at a balanced budget. I think it was pretty solid hate at first and I'm not sure the hate was any less rational as time went by.

I can't think of anything the president has done that has made my life worse. That's about all I ask for in a president.

Thank you for your honesty, and you made some fair points……………but like you said.

You have no personal disdain for him, and nowhere in your comment, did I see any admissions of how your life has been negatively impacted.

what a silly thread. barak obama, the man, is nothing. he is a second rate attorney and rabble-rouser, a political pawn and tool of his masters. barak obama, the symbol of the democratic party and mainstream american liberalism, is a destructive force to be reckoned with. he is the face of a movement to fundamentally change the structure of america, tearing down all that has made it possible for this nation to become what it is. his statist philosophy moves us further and further toward an authoritarian caricature of this nation.

the fact that his meddling has scared a great many of my old customers into hording their wealth instead of hiring me is of little consequence. i will be dead soon and it matters little whether i die rich or poor. what is important is the direction the nation takes and this is his great flaw. the very idea that my grand-daughter may live to see the total welfare state of bambam's dreams is enough of a grievance.

Except your point doesn't match up with how he has repeatedly screwed over the armed forces he is supposed to be commanding.

    Ok,

    Now we’re getting somewhere.

I have to take you at your word and believe everything you’re telling me.

I would first say, I am sorry that you lost your job (been there, and it sucks)

Secondly I would say that perhaps if republicans had truly come to the table willing to work with the president instead of demonize & obstruct.

Possibly together they would have come up with a better package for everyone as the president was trying to LEAD, while the right was only trying to destroy his presidency.

You know, the same way they caused all this pain with this shut down just to loose in the end, and look like the foolish obstructionist that they are.

I truly hope things get better if they haven’t already.

I was hoping for the healthcare reform to become a single payer system and I think that Obama missed the opportunity to introduce it.
The healthcare system is something that directly affects my life.
It made me think that he was too conciliatory and should have fought harder for his preferred option.

Individually we make up the collective, which is everybody.

You might want to think about trading in that high school diploma for a GED Sparky.

Either that or take another stab at it………..

Unfair comparison. Under Bush NAFTA and Free Trade was in high gear. Both signed by Clinton but it was Bush that got the full effect. Also under Bush is when the housing market fell along with the economy. Obama came in when the economy was in the basement and had nowhere to go but up. But even as bad as it was under Bush, he had about 3 millions jobs if I remember right.
