Less jobs were created last year than in every year of Obama's second term.

The Dow increased by 300 percent on Obama's watch.

Trump is coasting on that momentum.

He better get on the stick and stop running up the national credit card into insolvency.

That's what happens with you have low unemployment, fewer jobs to fill. Duh!

So you can thank Obama for bringing unemployment down so low that Trump can't match his job creation.

    But you won't, of course.

Of course, and I agree! There are probably only a scant few real conservatives in congress. Trump spent much of his life being a democrat, as you know. I have noticed DC runs on the fuel of hypocrisy. Take that away and they would all be mute.

LOL, sure thing, we can also thank Obama for the bright outlook because Trump became President?

Gee, if the unemployment rate is so low, I guess Mexicans aren't stealing our jobs after all, eh?

Exactly - Trump's focus is on growing the economy first. There is absolutely no politically possible way to pay down the debt without growing the economy at supply side levels of ~ 4%.

Clinton brought unemployment all the way down to 3.9 percent, and yet created 21.5 million jobs.

So much for "you have low unemployment, fewer jobs to fill".

"I think Bill Clinton is terrific. I think he’s done an amazing job. I think he’s probably got the toughest skin I’ve ever seen, and I think he’s a terrific guy. I just have to view the economy and the country. I think Bill Clinton has done a terrific job." - Donald J. Trump

Except that he didnt, and lies like this are just ridiculous.

Obama added the cost of the Iraq and Afgahn wars to the general budget because Bush was to much of a chicken$hit to do it. And somehow its his fault that he added the previous presidents expendatures. Typical republican thinking.

There are six ways to bring down debt. Growing the economy is only one of them.

Funny, back when Obama was doing what Trump is doing, the fake conservatives had a lot to say about your idea:

Heritage Foundation: High Debt Is a Real Drag:

Three teams of economists have separately shown that high government debt has a negative effect on long-term economic growth. When government debt grows, private investment shrinks, lowering future growth and future wages.

Estimates across advanced economies show that debt drag reaches large and statistically significant levels as debt grows, with the worst effects occurring after debt reaches 90 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). With U.S. federal, state, and local government debt at 84 percent of GDP and rising, policymakers should begin taking debt drag into account when considering new deficit spending.

More from the Heritage Foundation: The Many Real Dangers of Soaring National Debt

Recent and projected growth in U.S. government debt poses a serious hazard to the nation. At a minimum, high levels of government debt mean substantial government resources must go toward servicing debt—to pay interest. Further, theory indicates and a growing body of research suggests a consistent relationship between high levels of government debt relative to the size of the economy and abnormally high interest rates consistent with lower levels of domestic investment.

    Awesome.

So Trump can blame this deficit on Obama.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Doesn't it just suck to have your own benchmarks come back and bitch slap you in the face?

Trump is growing the economy. Obama did not. And the only way to significantly reduce government spending is SS, MC, and MD reform.

And that is a good thing to you?

'Hey, your honor...sure, I murdered 10 people. But the guy you judged before me murdered 20. So...'

Obama's deficits were ridiculous. Reps were whining about balancing the budget when Obama was in office.
And this is the best they can do?

And Trump has taken out ALL mention of balancing the budget...even in 10 friggin' years!!!

Conservatives are supposed to be for small government and fiscal discipline. Well...where are they in this budget?

Bullshit. The economy is not growing much faster then under Obama. Plus, the trade deficit is way up under Trump.
And save the 'but it will' crap. Talk is cheap...when the results are in, then you can brag about it without looking naive. Until then...it means nothing.

And only an idiot cuts taxes while increasing spending.

Your boy is a political turd on fiscal discipline.

No, I just find it funny that they didn't have tears running down their little cheeks when we were adding more debt than every POTUS combined since the 80's.

You won't find me supporting unnecessary spending, and I am pro-balanced budget. Rand Paul was right about many of the things he recently said.

However, we can't get to a balanced budget until the concerns are actually about balancing the budget, instead of "resisting" Trump.

We also can't get there while Democrats in Congress care more about spending money for non-US citizens than they do US citizens.

    Seems reasonable.

Yes, Dems have to cut social programs in a smart way. But Reps are not helping by raising spending on their baby...the military.

    Both must be cut...properly.

    Neither are.

If the Reps are no longer standing for small government and fiscal discipline...then they are politically useless, imo. Just like the Dems are now about the government bailing everyone out and paying for everything.

Both parties have become utterly and completely useless.

The trade deficit is typically more negative when the economy is growing at a high rate. The trade deficit is meaningless.

It takes a real economic idiot to grow the economy at 2%.
