The majority of police officers oppose what is being called an "assault weapons ban". No reasonable person believes that criminals will turn in their firearms deemed "illegal".
they have no issue with you keeping your ar-15 at home, it's walking through the city with one that is an issue no one cares that men have private parts either, but we don't want to see them out when one is walking around town
Police interact with criminals and their victims. That is why they do not oppose armed citizens as you falsely claimed earlier. Gun laws provide killers with easy victims.

Liberals don't seem to like cops interfering with their criminal activities, like prostitution, drug smuggling, human trafficking, etc... Cops seem to add too much overhead for their profit margins. Thats not been my experience at all. I have a CCW which shows up when they run my plates. So they may not know for certain whether I have a gun when they pull me over (they could ask, they never do...), but they can pretty well guess that I do since I went to the trouble to get a lisence to conceal. Since I've had my CCW, I've been treated with far more respect by LE at traffic stops in my state, and not sure whether its just coincidense, but I've also only ever got warnings in my own state since getting CCW while out of state I have got a few speeding tickets for same (15 mph over) violations. In short, it seems like cops tend to like me more when they know I carry a firearm. But this could just be because I tend to encounter rural cops instead of city cops...

they don't, when they encounter people they prefer them unarmed, unless they kill someone, then they wish they were armed if they were not
You made incorrect statements and attempted to change the subject when corrected. Society is better off with armed citizens and criminals are better off with strict gun control. Cops overwhelmingly support armed citizens and there is zero risk in owning a gun. The level of risk is in direct proportion to the level of ignorance.
Cops don't know what they are walking into when there is a proliferation of guns. Just stopping someone on the road could result in them being shot - I believe that is the reason we see so many cops shooting folks unnecessarily - "I thought they had a gun" is a common defense.
