Frank Luntz has a group of 22 voters who include Dems, Republicans and Independents watching and they use dials to track what they like and dislike according to what each candidate is saying.

At the end only 6 said that Trump won while 16 gave it to Hillary. That means she had effectively reached the Independents while Trump had failed.

 

Clinton lies about big things because she is hiding things. I think Trump is just an idiot and lies just to lie. But to claim that Hilary is just guarded and private is just as silly as saying that Trump is an honest business man.

Trump got crushed and I felt bad for him. He doesn't even know what he is doing up there. How could one be so poorly prepeared for an event he had a year to plan for? If he was poorly prepared that should tell you everything....he is not ready to be in the white house....even on the tour.

I honestly feel it was a tie, but at the same time kind of a poor debate really. It was more of a bunch of "gotcha" moments rather than an actual discussion about the real issues.

I really wish these people were forced to be straight up and not be able to dance around questions.

 

He won the debate, It was not close. The old politics where phony canned talking points failed - again.

 

He got crushed and even you admit he was completely unprepared for an event he knew was coming for a year. How could he ignore the preparation? How can we trust someone who can not prepare for something so basic?

Now Vegas, I did not say he was "completely unprepared", and Clinton proved that too much prep time can prepare you to lose debates - ditto Romney. Nothing could have prepared Trump for Lester Holt joining the debate.

But it was clear that Clinton did work very hard to prepare - you and I am probably the only ones who will give her an "E" for effort.

 

It is impossible to lose standing next to Hillary Clinton. I'm a Democrat, but even I dislike and distrust her. She cannot be believed, no matter what she says. I just turned the channel to MSNBC to get a different perspective from Fox News. Everyone on Fox is either looking forlorn at the fact Trump lost big time, or looking phonily optimistic and telling everyone Trump won, or making excuses for the pathetic performance of Trump.

I imagine the news shows that tell the truth about who won and lost have the right perspective; and the truth is that Trump was typical, childish, Trump and therefore he lost. What an ass to run for president and then not prepare for the debate. It is telling. Trump is a narcissist that truly believes he cannot be brought down, and that he cannot be wrong. The little boy Trump will wing it in the Oval Office, and he will play Romper Room, or cowboys and Indians in the pentagon.

The world is too complex for a simple-minded man like Trump who, IMO, is an idiot. He says he is smart for not paying taxes. He isn't smart, his attorneys and accountants are smart. Trump lucked out and got good people to do the tedious work of running his business while Mr. Flamboyant plays playboy, and Hollywood superstar.
