You don’t read or comprehend the ones I give. You accuse me of not giving references right after I post a link to you. Face it Golem. You don’t know enough about the subject to have a real conversation about it.

I'm not going to waste my time. When you make a statement, provide a reference. You have made too many claims with no reference to give you the benefit of the doubt that you might provide one later.

And the request for a reference in most cases is not because I think you're lying or anything. It's because if you looked for the reference you would notice that your statement was pure wingnut nonsense and that it has been debunked.

So when you say something like (quoting you): "Field hospitals set up to take hospital overflow were not utilized " You would have to look up which hospitals you are referring to and you might either have noticed on your own why. But if you didn't, at least you would have had to state which, and I would have easily explained it to you.

But you just throw things like that without even bothering to check. This is why I insist on references. It saves much time.

If you want to argue something using references, great! You will have all my attention. But if you just want to come here to throw crap at the wall hoping some of it will stick, I'm not participating.

So sad you cannot show it. I have never submitted an argument I couldn't support.

I watch ABC in the mornings and they are blasting FL and other red states far more than CA. They also make it seem like all these people are dying in FL or how great NY is. Have they not compared the numbers? It will take a really long time for FL to approach anywhere close to NYs numbers.

Few of your claims come with references, as we will see below. :) I don’t need you to provide references for every claim because I’m familiar with the subject at hand. I accept the bits of correct information you provide occasionally and call you out when you are in error. Providing references for things that have been common knowledge for months is a waste of both our time. Especially when in the past I’ve provided links to reputable sources containing data verifying my position and you refused to open them because you claimed they violated forum rules. I won’t play your silly games Golem. I post facts. If you want a specific reference ask and it will be provided. But I will never provide blanket references for every claim I make. You are always welcome to refute a claim. You tried to refute my assertion Cuomo messed up by not disinfecting public transit with a link to a study about poop on doorknobs.

And who made you the authority on how many claims by me without references in “political opinions and beliefs” is too many? If you don’t like my posts, ignore them. I, nor anyone else are compelling you to respond to or even read my posts.

Furthermore, you don’t even understand your own links. You started a thread on herd immunity and why it can’t happen. The link you provided stated plainly in the last sentence the study wasn’t complete enough to base your claim on.
    .

Where’s your reference to my claim being debunked? LOL.

We all know why. Cuomo requested the wrong resources, then changed his mind, then sent the prime candidates for admission to field hospitals to the rest homes. There is nothing you could add I don’t know. I wouldn’t bring it up if I didn’t understand the subject.

I stated a fact. I watched that field hospital fuster cluck unfold. It’s not a mystery. I can explain the ”why’s” more thoroughly if you’d like. You really don’t want to go there though because the people sent to rest homes should have been and could have been sent to field hospitals. Just like I said. It’s not debatable.

Again, I present facts. You are welcome to dispute them. I will demonstrate I’m correct if you ask specific questions. Don’t worry about participating in my throwing crap at the wall because I have never done so and will not in the future.

I’ve provided you plenty of references. You either aren’t capable of comprehending them or you never read them. What’s the point? I don’t want your attention Golem. I just point out your errors from time to time when they are egregious enough I think they may do harm. For example, your claim FL surpassed NY in deaths and cases is serious disinformation.

You continue to say I’m not worth your time. Provide some hard evidence now that your claim is true.

Just admit that they WERE in fact mass gatherings but you think that they were worth the COVID-19 risk.
Or will you desperately stick with your LAUGHABLE argument that the protests were somehow NOT mass gatherings?

I was using your sarcasm against you. You said "impossible" and I was agreeing with you. Just like you agreed with my sarcasm of "no contradiction here then" when you replied with "none!" Anyway, you're criticising Florida while giving NY a free pass! :roflol:

Yes. GMA, When the death counts were high, they focused on counts, now death counts are low, focus on case count and ignore death count. Florida to texas, back to florida, cover texas again with the Abbot quote for the 29th time, then weather. Quick clip about potential overload of ICU, repeat the lake of the ozark party, ignore protests, then "let's go back to Miami, but first here's rob with the weather again"

Bingo. They mentioned Memorial Day but not the protests where it all started again. Yes the idiots gathering in massive crowds partying are not the smartest bunch, but they’re young and invincible. Those protesting ALSO weren’t smart. But let’s ignore them. Covid doesn’t spread among leftists. They’re immune. :) Its ALL Trumpers eh? South FL right? Miami right? Cornerstone of Trumpists eh? That’s the narrative though.

"Events surrounding memorial day" is how they get around it.

Miami/Dade actually shut down early as well, it didnt help, actually stats seem to show it made it worse.

Jax, yes, definitely more conservatives up there. But the shilling trying to push that it’s ONLY Trump supporters spreading this, is propaganda and typical of what we all get to see out of 95% of the media. They’re just so bold about it and vindictive in how they continuously try to come off as “telling the truth”. Sorry. No you’re not. I love watching another GMA story about gun deaths and police and racism while they ignore the giant elephant in the room that is all the people shot and killed in Democrat run cities.

No. It is customary to provide a reference of the main arguments you make. For the rest... if I make a claim and don't provide a reference, you ask and I'll make it available. The problem is I ask you for references again and again...even of your main points, and you never show it.

Exactly! References are to support your arguments. Not to make them for you. You can't just send a link and say "Read this long article and try to find something that proves my point". Throwing links at each other is not what makes an argument. You make your argument.

Think! What would happen if we BOTH just threw links and book titles at each other. You don't see a problem with that? If you don't, then I can just cut through the chase on every single debate, send you a link to Google and say "you can find evidence of my argument here"...And if you say I didn't send a reference just counter with "I sent you a reference and you refused to read it"

No! We make an argument, and then we reference the source or supporting links so the other can verify. But the reference is not the argument.

This is the perfect example to illustrate what I'm saying. Because you still seem to believe that "common sense" (and worse yet, your common sense) trumps facts and Science.

It's a good idea to clean surfaces, but is it relevant? How would you do it? Do you wipe them with some disinfectant at night? That would protect those coming on the train the morning after. But by that time the coronavirus would have degraded anyway. And it won't protect the guy who sat on the same seat as the guy who was infected and just got off at the last station. But, as the reference I provided explains, coronavirus-type viruses (like the common cold and Covid 19) require that the infected person coughs and leaves a sizable amount of saliva on the seat or handle. The reference is the study I sent. Then the next person touches the surface for a long enough period that it gets a sizable amount and then touches his eyes or mouth with the same hand. It CAN happen. But it's not that likely. And yet, in NY it's a huge undertaking (https://www.npr.org/sections/corona...yc-subway-to-disinfect-every-train-each-night) They are most likely to catch a stomach virus or other diseases before they get coronavirus. "Disinfecting" is not more relevant to stopping Covid 19 than just wiping the surface with your handkerchief. And it's hundreds of times less relevant than washing your hands, using hand sanitizer and not touching your eyes and ears. Even so, NY installed UV lights to keep their public transportation as free if coronavirus as possible (https://www.theverge.com/2020/5/20/...light-uvc-coronavirus-disinfect-puro-pictures). Disinfecting them overnight, or even a few times a day is of very little help.

But the point is that you constantly believe that your "common sense" can spare you from getting informed. As I have proven above, it doesn't! But you will never know it if you never research. Look at all the time it took me to explain to you something that you could have easily found out on your own if you just bothered to do the most basic research necessary to provide a reference that supported your claim.

Quotes!!!! Quote what I say, and quote the study contradicting it. Not taking either out of context. If you can't do that, you are talking B.S.

I'm explaining to you why making claims without quotes is a bad argument, and you do exactly that!

You make a claim, and back it up with a quote. No study is on its own complete enough to determine anything with 100% certainty. NONE! But they are enough to show any rational person in PF why claiming that "herd immunity" by infection is what is going to save us is nonsense.

The rest of your post is the same thing over and over.... You make wild claims with ZERO references. The same as the above. You asked how I can determine there are "too many claims with no references"? Easy... on this post you have made no less than five statements like the above, and have shown no references. Because you want me to do your legwork.

I won't! You make a claim, you provide the references.

God! You want me to show "references" of things like that President* Hydroxychlorquine has lied and spewed nonsense?

I send references to support arguments. Those aren't arguments. Those are observations that are documented... everywhere. Just a matter of listening any time Trump talks about the pandemic. Myself and others have sent lies, nonsense, disinformation.... so many times that Trumpists on the list don't even bother to defend him anymore.

Untrue. I provided a very good supporting document for my comments on herd immunity. You don’t care. You reject science that contradicts your pre conceived ideas. You do ask for references but in response to a paragraph where I am basing an argument on many various statistics or facts. I don’t know what you need education on. It seems you need educated on nearly everything and I’m not here to educate you.

Any link I provide supports an argument I’ve already made. I have never violated forum rules in that manner. You cannot accuse me of such a thing when you admit to not opening the links. If I violate rules show some evidence or report me. I’m weary of your baseless allegations
Again, I always make my own argument. It’s based on documentable facts and years of formal and self education. We know this is true because you can’t refute them. Instead you have to criticize my posting style. That should tell you and others a lot. :) You can post how you want Golem. I will post how I see fit. You can take it or leave it. Or become a moderator or buy the forum. Right now your subjective opinion of my use of links is just you complaining because you can’t refute the facts I present.

Quite the contrary. My statements on this virus are always science based. That’s why you are unable to refute them. That’s why I had to educate you on herd immunity. Your thread on herd immunity with a link refuting your claim illustrates you either can’t understand science or deny it. Maybe both.

Ironically, you display ignorance as you attempt to educate me. A cough is not the only way to contaminate a surface with Cvirus. This is the difference between your posts and mine. You claim a cough is a requirement to contaminate a surface. Clearly that isn’t the case and I can supply you links supporting my claim if you would like, yet you make the assertion with no supporting evidence. :) In contrast, if anyone analyzes my claims and does a little research it’s obvious my claim was founded in factual information. You criticize me for making true claims without references while you continue to make false statements without references.
The common sense argument you invoke is a strawman. I’ve never claimed my statements are backed only by common sense. Everything I post on this subject is factual and based on science or statistics. That is why you can’t refute them and must resort to fallacy.

Another strawman you’ve created is arguing against disinfection of public transportation because person to person transfer is far more likely. I’ve never stated surface contamination infection was more likely. But science shows surface infection is possible. That’s why we disinfect.

All you have proved above is that you can’t decide if Cuomo was stupid for not disinfecting transit during the height of the pandemic or if he’s stupid for doing so now because it isn’t necessary. Thanks for the laughs. It’s funny.
Is that an order? Did you buy the forum? Go read your old sig line, then go read your OP in the thread you started a while back on herd immunity and antibodies.
You wrote the garbage. Go find it yourself. What’s nonsense is claiming herd immunity isn’t possible because antibody levels decrease. The piece you linked to stated clearly T cell immunity wasn’t included in the study. Without knowing the specifics of T cell immunity of this virus your link was irrelevant to your point.
I don’t want you to do my research. I like facts, and research you do doesn’t provide facts as I demonstrate over and over. Again, provide some hard evidence your repeated claim I’m wasting your time is correct. LOL. In the meantime I’ll continue to post how I like.
