And in His wisdom He emphasized His displeasure by allowing all those bees to survive, when by any application of basic common sense they should all have been sizzled in the inferno. There's probably a message for us in that - although don't ask me what it is!
So since you don't believe God even exists, your OP makes no sense. God could not save Notre Dame because there isn't a God.
What is close to God is relentlessly attacked by Satan and the world he manipulates. With that in mind Catholicism is certainly not Satanic until it turns into the pick and choose cafeteria type that flaunts humanism instead of Godliness. Same with protestant churches.
Yes, intelligence can lead to pride and be a barrier to faith, "Except you become as a little child....." You will never reach metaphysical truth by fallen and finite human reasoning, if that were possible it would have been done by now. A human with an IQ 20% higher than the next is still light years away from God's level of omniscience and omnipotence.
Because some believe it's the end of days and perhaps the Illuminati decided to make it an Easter week thing to signal their end of days new world order thing. Or that if God could save that but not save an Alter Boy, how is that fair? Maybe centuries old oak dried out in the sun and lit. And that fire fighters couldn't get through all the people that ran to the cathedral.
Not really, Take roman, greek, Egyptian, indian, chinese, mayan, Aztec, celtic, viking, etc etc etc. about the only similarity with your god is the supernatural aspect.... in other words, unprovable
As was saving Notre Dame “has on us”.... and that is my point: god will not save Notre Dame, he will not prevent blindness, or autism, or war, or hurricanes, or earthquakes, or volcanoes, or the holocaust, or floods, or forest fires, or mugging, or lynching, or cancers, or malnutrition, Or dengue fever, or the plague, or smallpod, or polio
Because he ... - wants to warn the Christians for something, eg. they commit too many sins. - rejects Christianity as a whole and prefers Judaism or Islam. - left mankind alone short after creation. - simply doesn't exist.
I'm glad you agree. Therefore your OP question was nonsensical. God couldn't have prevented Notre Dame, because there is no God in the first place.
Hell, the alleged great god couldn't save Notre Dame if they were trailing Michigan by two in the 4th. The alleged great god is impotent cuz it's (almost certainly) imaginary...
Well this is a variation of the standard questions such as why does god hate starving Africans, or why would god allow a 2 year old to be raped -- and so forth. The real answer to this sort of question -- there is no magic sky man. On various moral topics humanism is the only way to determine right and wrong. I know the theists hate the H word but the reality is humans create religions, scripture, and morals. No doubt someone will now chime in with the god works in mysterious ways answer the theists have for various questions they cannot otherwise answer.
Well if one of these people claiming to know god can call down fire like Elijah, that person would likely be a reliable guide. Otherwise, don't drink the Kool-aid.
There have been various scientific studies on the efficacy of prayer. The conclusion - prayer doesn't work.
Not all of these people are weak/frightened but Brainwashing works. Most are brainwashed as children.
Yes money that could actually go to helping relieve the suffering of humanity will now go to restoring another edifice to willful ignorance. Go god!
