Why Do "Progressives" hate us?

I'd just go with "Lazy", but I have had the displeasure of living around them in their natural habitat!

 

There are at least two possibilities:

1. The progressive in question is a lover of lies and therefore hostile to the truth and anyone rude enough to voice it out loud.

2. The progressive in question - being, as we all are to some extent, a product of his or her environment, and therefore emotionally attached to some crazy ideas - is hostile to the self-righteousness found in some conservatives for whom a sense of superiority is paramount, and who are therfore no more happy to see progressives become enlightened than the stereotypcial progressive is happy to see someone get off welfare.

If conservatives in general are not aware of both possibilities, civil war is inevitable.

They won't feel safe until the last person with a lick of sense is executed - never mind that their sense of relief will only last until they start doing to each other what they just got done doing to conservatives.

The philosophocal debate has either evolved or devolved (still trying to figure out which) to the two extremes. It seems we're headed to a conflict to preserve Free Will itself from those who see a better world with us as programmable automotons, 'living' in maximum efficiency, harmony and uniformity.

As John D. Rockefeller said: 'Competition is a sin.' Might as well be the progressive motto. There is no room for individualism in such an ideology.

Some perspective is required beyond the fact that socialists and progressives haven't been right about anything, ever. That only explains why socialism almost always evolves into totalitarianism. It explains Stalinism, Communism, Maoism, etc. We know that the radical fringe, socialists and progressives, have hijacked the Democratic Party. But who are they?

A couple of 2010 Gallup Polls say all that needs to be said.


So, in 2010, just 20% of the people identified as Liberal.



Of those 20%, just 26% identified as progressive. So, now we're talking a fringe 5.2% of the population.

For that fringe bunch of wackos to hijack a major political party, they would have to be some of the nastiest animals in the country. It turns out they are. They have no respect for the rights of others. In their minds, liberty is something they grant at their discretion. They even eat their own. Look at what they did to Dorsey when he dared to dine at a Chipotle ,,,, AND HE APOLOGIZED!!! An insider knows the animals his own kind are.

The same bunch tried to shut down conservative speech with various degrees of success.

The good news is that Americans have grown smarter than the fringe radical progressives who want to own them.

 

The country is divided and both sides hate each other, but the only dehumanizing I've noticed has been directed at immigrants. Nativism has reared its ugly head again, and it will be the main shameful legacy of Trump barring some disaster such as from his protectionism.

I don't know that I'm "progressive," but the election of Trump made me feel more shame about my country than anything that has happened in my lifetime - on the level of Truman using the bombs without need, Japanese internment camps, Vietnam, and the like.

Why? Trump is somebody with no decorum, not a shred of decency. And it's not just that he lies, but he lies constantly to promote a racist, anti-science, and anti really everything that could serve as a check on his power. He is really about as bad as somebody can get without overtly trying to get people killed, though he can do that accidentally through his incompetence.

You talk a lot about ordinary people having a voice, but that's exactly the problem. Ordinary people have no business making complex decisions about the fate of the nation. They're just not equipped to do so, it's not their area of expertise. With social media and an increasingly complex society, democratic processes are even more problematic than they were before, and our rivals know it so much better than we do. People should have rights, including an absolute right to political free speech, but the whole democracy and voting thing, it's just idiotic. Smart people SHOULD be the ones making the decisions, not the charismatic liars elected by people with no understanding of how society works. All that we need is for ordinary people to understand that basic fact. People used to accept the notion of divine right, and they've been taught now to worship democracy, another logically fallacious approach to problem-solving. We'll be a lot better off once people realize that while power corrupts and must be checked, we also need to find a system where the smart people make the decisions based upon what's good for the rights of everybody, not just wealthy donors.

 

Trying convince us that President Trump and the team of the Fox News are not Conservatives? So who they are?

Let me end any doubt you might have you are a progressive. From your obfuscation regarding legal and illegal immigrants to your disrespect for the common man expressed in the above post, you are a text book progressive, five miles of knowledge and not a yard of wisdom.People like you gave us Dacau and the Gulags and Maos reeducation camps. I trust the common man in aggregate far more than I trust educated elites.

Why progressives have this seemingly endless need to fix what wasn't broken in the first place, try to control everything and everyone and in general be a pain in the posterior I don't know, but that's the real reason Hillary lost people out here in flyover land are sick of DC trying to run our lives for us.
