Well, to be honest - the Crusades in America didn't end until after Wounded Knee ... Christians taking on the "heathen" Indians and all. More of a genocide really.

No one stated that. Of course you throw out a strawman its what you do.. And of course you suggest its all the white mans fault... Thats right folks.. When someone does something wrong its someone else at fault!

You would be more correct if you said there were no poor politicians. They're all a bunch of thieving crooks, but your favorite crooks are the democrats...the kind, caring, sympathetic, benevolent, goober-smoochin' for a vote democrats. Your signature says a lot about you, as you choose what YOU want to believe, and facts-be-damned.

Also what ever culture is brought here by the immigrants some of it gets ingrained or added to our overall American Culture. So American culture as a whole is ever changing. There may be a difference in immigrants and refugees. In that I mean what they are fleeing from. Those fleeing from war and political oppression seem to adjust here quicker and seem proud to be in America and to be Americans. It is basically the economic refugees who act like you stated.

Just an observation of a theory I have had for a long time. Those fleeing tyranny seem to behave one way and those arriving here because of economics behave a different way.

That's poppycock! What are you saying or trying to communicate? You say focus on the U.S. and what happened here. All we have now is the present so you need to get real. You say blacks have struggled here. So what? Yeah, so what? The reason I blame a black for fathering six children and not supporting them and then smoking dope and running with a gang while refusing to work is because of his actions, period. Our history did not cause that. That happened in the present and present day white people did not contribute nor cause his actions. You are speaking in circles and frankly sound like a black who either lacks the talents, or is unwilling to accept the challenge of hard work and morality. Get off the excuse train and grab a seat on the 21st century opportunity train. There are millions of empty seats and all are welcome to ride.

Gee, I don't know, My grandparents were peasants from Europe were illiterate, came to America and died poor. My dad didn't go passed the 6th grade and mom made it to the 7th grade lived through the depression. Dad was in WWII from N. Africa to Germany. I was a Depression baby, I was working from the time I was 9, went to school and was the first in my family to graduate High School and go to College. So I guess that generations of near slavery, illiteracy and poverty are fallacious illogical reasons as you claim. The area where I grew up was Brooklyn NY which was a depressed area. In fact, East New York, Bed Sty, and Bushwick are still depressed areas. All the kids I knew then were all in the same boat, dirt poor. The class of 54 for the most part had doctors, architects, lawyers, chemists, and Technical people working within TV, Pharmaceuticals etc. That kind of blows your statement out of the water.

never been to the lovely middle class areas of Jamaica, Queens....now have you?

Queens is the only county in the USA where blacks have a higher average income than whites.

Funny you should ask. The first time I had recollection and anything to do with Jamaica Estates, I was a teenager working with my dad's crew to tear up and replace a private driveway and walkways. That meant using a sledge hammer, line bar, pick, shovel and wheel barrow.

That's delusional for you to say.

Johnson was from an era where he was the LEAST of the problems.

Today, many are using the 'n-word' (especially on the Right), but Lord knows minorities can hear the train whistles many on the Right imagine are 'dog' whistles. Racism permeates politics on the Right. It's disgusting.

    - - - Updated - - -

In context, Obama wasn't saying what you are trying to pawn off here. Even so, there is a lot of pain and suffering that Whites cannot simply cause people to forget or ignore; that isn't going to happen.

Wow. How did you know that? What does that have to do with what I wrote? You mean that section of High priced homes adjacent to Grand Central Parkway and near Hillside Ave, and Francis Lewis Blvd?

Blacks are and always have been human. But the fair question remains:

What is it that Whites have contributed to America's cultural legacy, that has caused things to be as they currently are?

The denial won't fly these days. It's WAY too easy to find the history and put things together. And yes, kids of ALL ethnicities will grow up asking even tougher and more intellectually liberating questions. It will help America to grow and heal.

That man's commentary is pinpointing the problem; those in denial here (which is many) will possibly pass away, before they GET what he's saying.

If you can blow that off, I have virtually nothing else to say to you; it's a waste of time.

    - - - Updated - - -

In denial much? (Yes, I think so.)

    Goodbye.

No. I'm not 'living' in the past. But I won't shrink away from pointing out that the mentality of far too many on the Right, is located in the past.

There racism and willful disenfranchisement of women, minorities, immigrants and gays... says a great deal about them NOT being in 2015, but closer to 1915. (It's really disgusting.)

It's clear enough; many on the Right WANT to go back to the past (where their minds are).

And the abject denial I see in this thread and forum confirms that for me as much as anything I've observed in politics over the last 12 years.

It is terrible to witness; and it's something most will work-around or just step over. The future is on the way and that's for sure.

I hear this constantly on here and I'm calling bull(*)(*)(*)(*). I have several pairs of exact copies of Air Jordans and they cost $20 at a flea market, (and some have lasted 3 years of hard use, something I think real Air Jordans would kill to be able to do.) The same applies to expensive clothes. How naïve ARE you people, have you never heard of knockoffs or what? (and don't say I'm a criminal robbing poor Shaquille O'Neal. The fact is it's pretty hard to buy cheap shoes/clothes today that AREN'T knockoffs)

Unless you go up to the kid and ask for certified provenance of his clothing, (go ahead, I dare ya) you have no way of knowing whether they cost $200 at Foot Locker or $2.00 at Goodwill
