And mock and ridicule the Bhagavad Gita and deny it's truth? Is it that they are just too greedy and self-interested to stop trying to break the cycle of life, death, and rebirth? ((too subtle? ))
I have to hate Vishnu because I am an atheist, I have no religion to tell me who to hate (their main purpose).
Actually I've never hated anyone but this IS the religion forum..... Hate is for people with nothing better to do....and takes way more energy than I want to expend.
Just having a little fun...maybe a bit of enlightened satire...with the constant refrain from the antagonistic Believers who equate disbelief in "God" with "hating God" ....and not believing the Bible is literally true....with all manner of "evil intent" and not simply another point of view. Switch it out to "Vishnu" and the "Bhagavad Gita"....and throw it back at them? And then watch the hijinks ensue.
Which religion? If Christians proclaim that theirs is the only true religion and all others are false, why should a Hindu not claim the same .. or an atheist claim that all religions are false.
Ask Turin. He/she is the one who brought up that subject of 'religion is a lie', therefore only Turin would know the answer to your question. It is going to be really difficult for an Atheist to prove that any religion is false. Though I would be immensely pleased to see any number of those Atheists attempt to prove that 'any religion is false'. As for the difference between a Hindu and a Christian believing that their particular religion is the only true religion; there is no difference. Each possess the right to believe whatever they desire to believe. The Christian or the Hindu do not have to prove to the other that their religion is the only true religion. They already believe it.
Fair enough Point I was making is that none of the various religions can really say that theirs is the "true" faith, there is no difference between a Christian claiming that the Hindu faith is false and an atheist claiming all religion is false.
But there are so many atheists on this forum that are likely to disagree with you. You see, in order for that comparison to be true, then Atheism would definitely have to be a religion with some form of god(s) and the Atheism would have to have a set of moral codes, and some spiritual guidance. Now really, can Atheism have all those things?
not really, I don't need to be a scientist to know you cannot create something from nothing, so I don't need to have a religion or faith to know god doesn't exist. Why is it assumed that moral codes are based on religion, morality is purely based around your geographical location at birth and the society you grow up in.
it's assumed because religious types of yore hijacked cultural moralities (developed in response to the practicalities of living in communities) for their own ends. over time this accretion appeared seamless, then was ultimately forgotten.
Why do you assume that God 'created' something from nothing? Do you know the implications that lay behind the word 'create' as opposed to 'fabricate' or 'manifest'? Where did that geographical location get a set of morals? In fact how is it possible that a geographical location can even have a set of morals?
is misinterpreting straightforward questions and statements part of your defense? the poster correctly stated that morality is a product of geograhy and culture. this clearly, OVERTLY, means that the country and culture of your birth determine, to a large extent, your moral code. you're like an overgrown 8 year old.
Atheists may not believe that god exists, but they still seem to hate him a lot. Ironic that they're so obsessed with something they don't even believe exists.
Prove that religion is true. Walk outside and tell a tree to uproot itself. If it does as you command without any external action of any kind you may have a point. But if it remains as it is then you're wasting your time because you don't really believe in the fairy tale. Let us know what happens.
'True' is an ambiguous term. Be a little more specific. Just went outside and told a tree to uproot itself..... it did... Wow! I never knew that I had it in me to accomplish such a thing. Now what.
