So you...by yourself survey and excavated the entire lot. You by yourself erected all the steel and layed the brick and mortar? You by yourself ran all the electric components and you by yourself hung all the drywall by yourself as well as all other services needed to construct a store. You did that all by yourself and didn't hire anybody to do that for you?

Yes I paid for all of that.......with the Fruits of my Labor.

The Surveyor, Excavator, Steel Worker, Brick Layer, Electrician, Drywaller, and two bit Chitcago Parasite didnt do it for free......I paid top dollar.

Ah, so if I lease a building and toss some goods in it, I have a business? Even without customers?

Also, you may have "contributed" money towards the infrastructure and school system (though how you got that money without a business or job that uses the infrastructure is beyond me), but so did everyone else in your community. You used their money to make yours; you didn't build it by yourself, you had help along the way.

 

Well if you could point to the Fruits of anyone else's labor being involved...perhaps you would have something approaching a point.

President Obama definitely had his words come out wrong, but his basic point is being overlooked. The success of American business is based on the social, political and economic health of the USA. If you don't have policing, crime is high and that adds costs to doing business. If the roads are awful and crowded and the bridges fall down, that adds costs to business. If you have a poor education system, the pool of skilled workers shrinks and that adds costs to business. If the market is not fairly free and open, that adds costs to business. And if the military can't defend America, that REALLY affects business in the USA.

So every business owner is (hopefully) an entrepeneur, but he is also a citizen participating in the social contract of this country which basically says that the benefits don't come for free - not in cash, not in participation in civic affairs, and not even in blood.

 

You may or may not have customers.....that is uncertain.

.....what is certain....is an Individual first has to build a business to find out.

Residential Property is taxed at a 30% roll here.....Commercial Property is taxed at the full 100%......

Democrats rape business owners at work....and then rape them again when they get home......

.......so we paid our Fair Share, the Lion's Share, and a King's Ransom.......MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE IN THE COMMUNITY.

Are you guys really this naive as to think that without one pesron's direction, money and labor, any of that work would have been done? A contractor doesn't just up and decide to build a building, run electrical wires and supply materials because he wants to help somebody build a business. A person has to take the initiative and have the capital to contract these services out. Maybe if you would get off your computers where you can safely rant and rave about every subject under the sun that you know nothing about and actually try to build a business. Then you can see what it takes, because you've shown me that you clearly do not.

 

Don't worry, you can pay next to nothing on your capital gains and call it a wash if you'd like. Also, I see you're no longer denying that others have paid for your infrastructure and schooling. Glad you're finally starting to acknowledge what Obama was saying.

 

Very easily actually...he wasn't talking about private businesses, he was talking about an athlete...he was talking about support (meaning encouragement) from family & friends, not support from the government. What else you got?

 

Obama was talking about working together in general.
