Okay. I will humor you. If that is the case, then why would the President, who, according to the canon of the liberal, is brilliant in all things, deliver unto the conservatives the mother of all molehills? And could you please explain to me why molehills get two plus weeks of constant coverage?

Are you familiar with the term "false dichotomy?" If not, look it up.

It's getting so much coverage because the MSM and Fox are too lazy and corrupt to give you news about actual issues. They want to keep you distractd with stupid (*)(*)(*)(*) like this and you are falling for it.

Beyond the phony masks being worn, and bs being spewed, by the politicians and their media cohorts, it's still an undeniable fact that although the commercial success of individuals and businesses may very well have varying degrees of dependence upon some of the things that their government has helped to bring forth (e.g. transportation infrastructure), there exists an seemingly self-imposed blindness (or better yet, "ignorance") as to just where the money comes from that pays for those touted necessities.

Nope, it was a defining moment it validates everything we have said about this man. To him Government is the answer, to us Government is the problem.
Being a minority and having a bias toward minorities I can understand the man, yes to them Government is the answer. They need the Government or have been ''convinced'' they need the Government to guide, help finance, and shape their lives. Personal responsibility is something they do not embrace....[some not all].

It's a shame really, in exchange for the goodies and security they are willing to accept that they are somehow inferior to those that are more independent, or that they have been taken advantage of. This bankrupts their self worth and motivation, it divides the family and sets the stage to live in poverty, hate and envy. Obama and company takes advantage of this for votes and power.
They use Welfare and entitlements to ease the pain of poverty, and to keep them dependent. They use the hate and envy to divide and use as a excuse for their situation. This secures the base. In actuality they are enslaving these people to this Merry go round life as it is repeated through the generations.

By Obama showing that the ''better off'' use the Government as well and NEEDS them as well, it softens the pain by making them feel better about themselves,,,
''See, they are no better than YOU, YOU work just as hard, YOU are just as smart''

Conservatives are desperate!! Anyone who watched the speech knows he was not talking about the business... he was talking about the roads and the infrastructure and said "you didn't build that". Which they didn't, so I don't get the big deal?

Oh wait... we are talking about uneducated conservatives here! They will do and say anything regardless of the truth.

First paragraph: "You didn't build that" - actually, both individuals and collective groups of individuals did "build that". The government may have organized the effort and amassed the funds to pay for "that", as various infrastructural "programs". However, the funds, equipment, manpower, etc, to accomplish and pay for those "programs" came from individuals and businesses over time.

This whole debate (if one can even call it that) is merely the usual efforts made by left and right to take exclusive credit for something that their particular mind-bent is only partially responsible for accomplishing, while attempting to minimize or destroy any contribution by their ideological enemies.

Last paragraph: Too lame to comment on beyond a simple suggestion: Grow up.

There's not reason to get all up in arms over this simple comment. It's obvious the context of what he was saying. The business did not build the roads, that's just plain and simple. No one is taking credit for anything. It's just an obvious fact. Most businesses did not build the roads around them, educate their laborers, develop the police, military, and firefighters, etc.

Even Mitt Romney said the same thing.

First off, each side takes every opportunity to make headlines. That's a given.

The important point lies beyond politically motivated headline grabbing. The fact is, the Private Sector needs and relies upon a functional Public Sector and vice versa. The relative degree of reliance between these two can be debated. But when advocates of the one attempt to claim (by implication) an almost exclusive ownership of responsibility for the health and growth in the nation's living standards, they simultaneously and deliberately IGNOR the role played by the other sector. Obviously, this is nothing more than deliberate IGNORance for political opportunistic reasons.

I am seriously trying to conceive of one individual who has managed to do EVERYTHING by themselves.

Lets see. First, whoever that individual is, it is an absolute fact that they were born as an infant.

Okay, so maybe the Conservative can explain it from that point on, how the infant cared for himself, fed himself, clothed himself, and taught himself, in isolation from other humans. Maybe a wolf reared him. THATS IT, he is TARZAN!

How did the child, evolving past his infant stage, manage to avoid all other people, avoid all tools made by other people, avoid all knowledge contributed by other people, and keep himself in complete isolation, while he was conceiving of his brilliant individual dream?

How would the now young adult (if he did not starve to death while still a helpless infant) keep himself in isolation, as he must, otherwise he is benefiting from other human knowledge/experience, be able to actually build a successful "business", since that requires other human interaction to even figure out if the business has any value?

So the point which President Obama was making, is that everyone has had some help, whether they wish to admit it or not, during their individual evolution.

Even the roads which some private business owners may claim they built themselves, is a false statement. OTHER people and OTHER tools, and machines made by OTHER people, were used when the owner hired them to do the work for him. There is a collective effort still necessary, even if one individual has "vouchers" that can be traded for other laborers to work for him.

and both what Romney said and Obama said were true, I think everyone can see what both were trying to say

both were saying people benefit from others, be it a business owner or an Olympic athlete

exactly, they know thew truth, they are desperate and have resorted to be twisting something Obama said into something they wanted to hear rather then the reality of what was said

I watched the speech on tv.

Obama is a straight up commie.

He believes the government is responsible for the means of production.

Thats what he said, even if you dont wanna believe it.

Dont be duped by the UN, theyre straight up commies too.

    PS F George Soros.

No...because I will be paying a 15% tax on Capital Gains.......on money I invested and already paid taxes on. Is double taxation still not a Fair Share?

I never said I was the only one paying.......

.....but Buisnesses, roads, bridges, schools, and teachers all existed prior to Big Government.....

The host organism always predates the parasite.......
