Actually, no you don't. You only pay taxes on the profit you make from the investment. Are you SURE you own a business? I really, really am starting to doubt you at this point. You don't even know basic finance.

The money has already been taxed once....prior to investment.....why should government be taxing it again?

....why do Democrats insist on sharing in my profits but not my losses?

I have the tax returns and bucket of vaseline to prove it.......

Because you're earning money you didn't have prior to the investment. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

You absolutely do not own a business. No one can be this ignorant of finances and run a business anywhere but into the ground.

(By the way, tax writeoffs mean we do share in your losses also. Ignorant, ignorant poster).

NO, I make $350,000.00 and after deductions I pay $84,000 in income tax on ordinary income. I invest $100,000 of that $266,000.00 remainder. I make a capital gain on that $100k of $20,000. I owe $3000.00 in taxes on the gain of money that had no tax advantage. Instead of complaining about capital gains, you should be complaining about someone in the 20% bracket that has CD's in a bank. The bank rolls over the interest, say $1000. in interest, and the person never touches that money, but gets a 1099 from the bank and they owe $200. taxes on that $1000 they never touched.

Instead of championing the idea of the government robbing even more from the rich, you SHOULD be fighting for that little guy that is being totally screwed by the government.

Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are both billionaires. Did either of them STEAL one cent from anyone in the middle class,,,,,,,,,,or any other class? I don't care for either of them, but they earn their money. What they earn does NOT come at the expense of anyone else. Liberals have been brainwashed into thinking there is a finite amount of wealth. and that however much a rich person makes, leaves that much less for you. That's complete bullcrap. Buffet and Gates have more money than the US govt had a few years ago. Now they have that much, and the govt has TRILLIONS more. I've made a few dollars in my life. Not one penny of it came out of your pocket, or anyone else's pocket. I earned it at the expense of MY time and MY effort. No other expense from anyone.

I'm at workand on a mobile... too much effort to bother with.

When you watch it - since you already know where it is - note that he talks about roads and bridges in the preceding sentence. Then he makes the mistake of saying "that" instead of "those." That's it.

... or keep perpetuating lies. Whatever.

Off of money that I already paid tax on....

...why do you believe government has to have its hand in everything?

Do you support the government taxing savings?

You dont share in jack squat....whether its building the business or any losses that may occur....the only time Democrats are ever interested in sharing is when they are talking about my business and my profits.

You're investment income would go on next years return, right?

Wow, you familiar with the term "choose your battles?"

    For you and Dave1mo

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2011...ce-president-biden-s-tax-returns-and-tax-rece

"Today, the President released his 2010 federal income and gift tax returns. He and the First Lady filed their income tax return jointly and reported an adjusted gross income of $1,728,096. The vast majority of the family’s income is the proceeds from the sale of the President’s books. The Obamas paid $453,770 in total federal tax."

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    $453,770.00 / $1,728,096.00 = 26,2%

Do you not know what is going on with income taxes? Why Republicans say, "don't raise the rates because the rates mean nothing." Change the deductions and loopholes if you want more tax revenue.

    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/president-obama-2010-complete-return.pdf

    2009
obama AGI $5,505,409.00. Tax paid, $1,792,414.00.

That's 32.6% He had better tax people in 2010.

obama wants the rich to pay the Clinton rates of 39.6%. WHY doesn't he lead by example? 39.6% of $1,728,096. is $684,326.00,,,NOT $453,770.00

obama SPEAKS, and his actions show he lies!

Please mark the time in the video where Romney implied the Olympic athletes should now share a piece of their gold medals...or profits from any endorsement contracts...with the Olympic committee.

You're only kidding yourself if you think the GOP has any interest in closing loopholes beyond paying the thought lip service.

I look at Obama's taxes and think he's leading by example. He pays his fair share. You should ask yourself what kind of an example your candidate is setting.

It is more like they fairly compensated those who provided skills, services, and materials. Nobody helped share the risk of starting my own business. The risk belonged to me alone. If I failed, the IRS didn't have some risk sharing program to help me with unpaid taxes. As a matter of fact, they would take their pound of flesh no matter what with no excuses. Neither the government or that social network has gone over four years in a row without a vacation, but I know that missing vacations is an all too common experience for business owners. I didn't notice anyone else working s hard as I did to grow my business. The President was ignorant when he said there are plenty of hardworking people out there. There is hard working and then there is hardworking to make a business run. There is a world of difference, much like the chasm between the Knappa Loggers High School football team and the NFL. Until you start and run your own business, you just do not know.

But the biggest fallacy of the 'you didn't build that' argument is that if you ask one hundred business owners, I would bet that 95% percent of them know that the government was an impediment to success. I do not know of a single business owner who thinks that the government helped them more than it hurt them. I am sure Obama may be able to dredge up one or two, after all, 348 people voted for the Red Power Ranger in he last presidential election.

Actually, you are completely and absolutely wrong. I read the Oregonian, a leftist newspaper which is a tool of the Democratic ruling class. I read opinion columns from Dana Millbank, Charles Krauthammer, Steve Conason, Paul Krugman, George Will, Froma Harrop, and anyone else who doesn't offer fuzzy kitten stories, if you know what I mean. I do not listen to talk radio except a liberal station in Portland. Thom Hartmann makes me giggle. I sometimes watch Special Report with Brett Bair, but that is pretty rare that I get to see it. I look at Politico.com, the Huffington Report, Rasmussen Reports, and the Weekly Standard.

I do not like to read stuff that I already believe. I love forensic argument and the best way to formulate ideas is to listen to stuff that makes you uncomfortable.

I have seen the entire "you didn't build it" video maybe seven or eight times. The more I see it, the more I think Obama has basic contempt for people who start businesses. I think this contempt is the true Obama peeking through the teleprompter.

Are there any more assumptions you would care to make about me?

Fair enough. It's certainly your prerogative to think what you want about whom you want, but if you know that Obama was referring to roads and bridges and used the wrong pronoun to refer back to them then it must be your preconceived notions that lead you to to believe he has contempt for you.

BTW, I made no assumptions, you led me to believe you were unaware of the context of Obama's statement.

I re-watched the entire video trying to see it from your point of view, and I just don't see that Obama was talking about business men building roads and bridges. He said "You didn't build those roads and bridges. If you have a business, you didn't build that!....". So how do you get to Obama saying that a business owner didn't build roads and bridges? Does that statement even make sense?

And by the way, If Obama thinks the government built the infrastructure of this country, he is woefully ignorant. The government didn't build the vast majority of roads, bridges, gas lines, sewer lines, water lines, cable lines, telephone lines or electrical lines. The overwhelming majority of that infrastructure was built by private developers, private utility companies, and commercial enterprises. So yes, if that was what he was referring to, he is still mistaken.

First the context of Obama's statement doeant make it better it in point of fact makes it worse. 2nd everyone benefits equally from roads bridges and schools. Why isn't every then a rich entrepreneur? Because most of us aren't willing to work 16 hour days 5-7 days a 52 weeks a year and then lie awake 2-3 nights week wondering what you can do to make things better tomorrow. It's much easier to make excuses and blame the guy who is willing to do that, for your self generated poverty.

Much of the technology that powered American industry came from government laboratories.

That's a pretty good one. I don't know though, I still kind of like the, "I'm not familiar with precisely what I said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was."

So basically, all amerian businesses are charity?

You buy an ipad, you give the retail store money, and you have an ipad in return.

    What a charitable donation!

Oh yea? Infrastructure subsidized and maintained by societal institution are paid by tax money came from you alone? Employees who have been educated by social institutions are paid by you alone?

Furthermore, can you teenie boppers live for 1 week without some major fastfood chain or your local dinners?

Somehow libs always consider mutual-benefit to be one-side favor.
