Green energy requires federal grants, loans and loan guarantees. Development of oil recovery technology is privately funded. Oil and gas recovery techniques now exist. Green energy technology doesn't exist except in nonviable forms.

Because the fat cats are too heavily invested in it. Can you at least recognize that much?

OWS is not common people. They are uncommonly dirty, uncommonly rude, uncommonly misinformed, uncommonly stupid, uncommonly misdirected, uncommonly ineffective, uncommonly violent, and uncommonly dangerous.
Other than that, they're just crap.

Your percentage here is patently false. The interest paid on our national debt is not equal to any prime lending rate. The actual rate varies...depending on who and when, but the average approximates 6%....not the 1.5% you state.

Today our national debt is higher than our GDP...not by much, but higher never the less. The only other time in our history that the N.D. was equal to or greater than our GDP was during WWII. A quick visit back to historical memory lane shows that the US government did pay back the majority of that debt....at that time..the post war era.

If the national debt is irrelevant...as you attempt to make it out to be, then why have a monetary system in the first place? Or...better yet...how about printing off a cool 100 trillion of new Benjamins...and send them to the people en masse? Yeah...that's the ticket.

The OWS group has a far greater percentage of college graduates than the overall population. Why is that?

Are college graduates more "dirty, rude, misinformed, stupid misdirected, violently dangerous" than the rest of Americans?

I would say that all of your "uncommons" are not only innacurate, but flies in the face of an open democratic society that we still enjoy....for how long...remains to be seen.

Half the OWS wants more freebies from the govt and half wants no govt [but with freebies.]
That indicates a mass of wasted college degrees. And college degrees in unhireable fields does not show much intelligence. A college degree, I have more than one, is a tool. You go to school to acquire that tool. After that, your success or failure, is in how you use that tool. OWSer's have no useable tool. That is why they have no jobs. They wasted an education and now they are wasting the time of the nation and the police.

I agree with much of that except that people that take impracticle degrees are lacking intelligence.

I say they are probably more likely lacking practical knowledge of the world and wisdom...not intelligence.

When I was in university, I knew plenty of really intelligent people with really ridiculous majors.

Although not everyone in university is intelligent; I think their biggest problem is naivety - not lacking grey matter.

    in·tel·li·gent (n-tl-jnt)
    adj.

    1. Showing sound judgment and rationality.

I'll stick with my assessment. Picking a worthless major does NOT demonstrate sound judgement or rationality. Ergo,,,,,stupid!

I have no doubt that b.o. has a high IQ as do I. but he is demonstrably stupid and it took me years of experience to learn what now seems obvious.

    in·tel·li·gence (*)(n-tl-jns)
    n.
    1.
    a. The capacity to acquire and apply knowledge.
    b. The faculty of thought and reason.
    c. Superior powers of mind. See Synonyms at mind.

    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/intelligence

    I disagree with your definition.

Intelligent just means - in essence - possessing intelligence.

    And intelligence is defined above.

Picking a dumb major is dumb forever.

And excuses are useless excuses. The hideout of the mediocre. And liberals.

If the dolt that chose a useless major returns to school and acquires a useable tool, then he/she can put the ignorance of youth behind them.

If instead they choose to break laws, trespass on private property, engage in violence, and act completely stupid, they suffer from their own lack of intelligence.

What about guns, ammo, and a plot of land for growing food?

Although storing gasoline can be dangerous, hoarding drums of it is also on my mind.

in most episodes of hyper inflation people end up trading jars of coffee and cigarrettes.....or anything else that people might need like perhaps toilet paper and bottles of shampoo...even bars of soap perhaps!

You're trying to say something. But how wasting a college degree has something to do with terrible hygiene is unclear. They are not dirty because they have stupidly chosen a useless college degree, they are dirty because they are pigs. AND they can't find work because they have nothing to offer an employer.
Life is really simple if you shovel aside the bull crap, instead of wallowing in it.

Our govt is corrupt and both parties got us here - in this unimaginable debt.

The dems have been pushing socialism and using it to buy votes for almost a century now.
R's went along to get their piece of the pork pie. I curse them all.

We had a surplus in 2000 with the socialist prograsm.

Republicans cut hundreds of billions a year out of revenues with the Bush tax cuts.

Cut taxes and spend more and you get deficits.

That is exactly what happened since 2000 when we had a surplus budget. Made worse by a contracting economy, more tax cuts and more spending occassioned by the Great Recession.

It is unimaginable. But look at the bright side. Thanks in part to the tax cuts, the very richest are far richer than ever before!

If I'm wrong, I'll have lots of leftover canned goods, but if I'm right, I won't starve.
